Mini Consoles

With Nintendo trademarking the N64 for various uses again, and an N64 Mini seeming somewhat more likely because of it, I thought it'd be a good opportunity to discuss Mini Consoles, which have become (at least for Nintendo) significantly more popular than was perhaps expected, with stock shortages of NES and SNES Classic Minis being a delight for scalpers and a source of despair for everyone else who wants one.

With SNK and Sega getting in on the action as well (although technically Sega have been doing it for much longer than Nintendo) it looks to be fast becoming a trend outside of Nintendo's consoles.

So, how do you feel about Mini Consoles? Is there a retro console you'd like to see made into a Mini in the future - if so, what games would it need to have on it for you to buy it?

Good for people who want consoles and whose original consoles might have broken by now, but I'd personally just stick with a PC and emulation.

The one I was waiting for is the N64 one. I can'T wait to see which games are on it. I still own and play my old 64, but some games I can'T find them or are too expensive. If they are on the 64 Mini I'll sure buy it!
I don't really mind the Mini consoles beside that. They are a nice idea, and maybe if my brother wouldn't buy it I would have (but I just enjoy his stuff now Mwhahaha)
Let's say a PS1 mini comes out I might buy it since I never owned a PS console.

I doubt a PS1 mini will come out. Both the 2 and 3 are 100% 1 compatible, essentially making them both their numbers and a 1 at the same time.

N64 mini is guaranteed to have OoT and possibly even Majora's Mask. I'd also throw in the ORIGINAL Super Smash Brothers, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye64, Mario64 and maybe Rogue Squadron to capitalize on Star Wars. Mini consoles are popular because many of the old machines no longer work or people that are 20+ years younger than myself never got to enjoy these titles on their native platform. PC and Emulators can't equate that.

I think Mini consoles are cool, but I don't personally know anybody who owns one.

I bought a Retron system for about $15, which can already play both NES/SNES games. We also already own tons of old game cartridges that would come with the mini consoles, so I don't have any need to buy one.

I really hope we will have Mario Part 2, Yoshi's Story, Harvest Moon 64 and maybe Chameleon twist (I don't know if it's a huge and popular game, but it is one I enjoyed and want to play again, this list is 100% subjective). I won't mind the Zelda games, SMASH, Goldeneyes. And many other games like Banjo-Tooie and Diddy Kong Racing, but we still own and play those games so those games only won't make me buy a 64Mini.
