Misadventures at Hogwarts: Term 2

Cassidy took a few notes from the chapters she was assigned to read, and placing the book on the table in frustration, she sighed. Karli had already gone to bed, and Cassidy was exhausted. She looked over at Terra.

"Maybe I will try out for the Quiddich Team," she mused thoughtfully. "Karli did say there was a spot open, right? Do you know what it is?"

She picked up her book again, and took a final few notes to finish off the chapter, and closed her book triumphantly.
 
I came into the Common Room and saw Cassidy and Terra talking. I walked over to them.
"Hi guys!" I said. "What are you talking about?"
 
I couldnt sleep. Owls swooped across te windows hunting, and the girl in the bed beside me, was snoring. I got up silently from bed, and crept down to the Common Room in my night gown.
"What are you guys still doing up? Its late", I said, walking across the room. I suddenly felt a shiver down my spine.
"Its freezing in here!" I whispered. The fire was still lite, but was dieing down by the second.
 
"Hmmm..." Cassidy said thoughtfully, tossing her hair to get it out of her eyes. She looked into space thoughtfully. "I'll have to try my hand at it anyway. Who knows? I might make it!"

Cassidy's lips pulled back into a cheerful smile. Batesy came over to them at that point, asking what they were up to.

"I'm thinking about trying out for the house Quiddich Team," Cassidy said cheerfully, feeling better already. "What do you think?"
 
"You might make it!" I said. "But do you have a broom?" I turned to Terra. "Who left anyway? Angelina Johnson (sp?)?"
 
As Josh finished his words, the fire went out. I jumped, and turned into a falcon accidently. I flew over to Josh, and perched on his shoulder. I quickly jumped off and transformed.
"I dont know why I keep doing that", I said, picking a feather off of the ground. "its everytime something scares me and makes me jump"
I heard some footsteps.
"Lumos" I said, pulling out my wand. I raised my eyebrows. There was no one there.
 
"Ah..." Cassidy began, her excitement beginning to drain. "I don't...have a broom"

She slumped back into her chair in defeat, but her mind was wildly at work. How could she get a broom? She could buy one, but they were expensive...maybe her mother would buy her one? After all, Andrew would need a broom also!

"Well, since Andy's on the Slytherin Team, it would only be fair for my mom to get us both brooms," Cassidy said. She suddenly noticed Karli had come down to join them. "Hey, Karli!"

She said something about it getting late, and it was then that Cassidy realized how tired she really was. She let out a yawn.

"I guess you're right, Karli. I should get some sleep," Cassidy said as she gathered her things. "Goodnight guys!"
 
"OK then!" I said. "So we still have some of our good members such as Alicia Spinnet and Katie Bell!"
 
"It was probaly just late, and a spell or something blew out the fire" I thought.
"Well good night then" I said to everyone, following Cassidy up the steps to the girls dorm.

OCC: I think those members would be out of Hogwarts by then guys! ^_^;
 
OOC: Well, yeah! But anyways, we are sticking with Katie and Alicia!

"Practice!" I told Terra answering her question.
 
Cassidy went to her room, and wrote a note to her parents about her experience so far at Hogwarts, leaving out a few...details.

Hello, Mum and Dad!

Hogwarts is great so far. I've met a bunch of great people so far, and all my classes are going well. I'm having a little trouble in Potions, but nothing too major to worry about. I think my favorite class so far has to be Charms. Spells are really fun, and Defense Against the Dark Arts is good too.

I am hoping to try out for the Quiddich team for Gryffindor, my dorm. Can you believe I got into Gryffindor? It's such a great dorm! Anyway, Andrew made the Slytherin team already, and I figured since he is going to need a broom, if I could have one also? I've been eyeing some of the new Firebolt models, and they seem like really sturdy brooms, nice and safe!

Dad, don't worry. I've been practicing my martial arts every day! In fact, I got my wand adjusted so it can conjure my bo staff when I need it to! It's very handy. Isn't that great??

I will write to you some more when I have more time. I've been up these last few hours studying for Potions! How exhausting!

She rolled up the parchment, and went to the owlry to drop it off with Kaze. He took it from her gladly, and flew home.

Cassidy returned to a dark dormitory. Most everyone had gone to bed. She climbed the stairs to the girls' dorm, and slipped into bed quietly after pulling on her pajamas. She went right to sleep...
 
"Hey Terra!" I said. "The holidays are coming up! I was wondering if you could come with me to Diagon Alley so I can buy a Fire Bolt!"
 
"Sure! I'm going to look at brooms two, my other one..." I flinched, rembering last years accident. "Well, it's been sort of beaten up..."
 
"OK!" I said. "Good night!"
I kissed her and went to bed.

OOC: Can we just skip straight to the holidays?
