Misadventures at Hogwarts: Term 2

Since it was dark, Berii couldn't see where she was going and she didn't want to use lumos because she was afraid someone would see her. She prepared her wand when she heard someone yell.

"Terra? Is that you?" she whispered. She was behind Terra, at least she hoped, and looked at where Josh, she assumed, used Expelliarmus.

"MUHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The voice laughed. "How about you face this Boggart?!"
A figure appeared. He had a snake like face and a human body. I recognized it to be Voldemort! I had read about Boggarts. It wasn't real but it could hurt!
"Darn I only know one spell and I only practice it every night!" I said. "And I'm not too good!"
Voldemort began to advance on Terra.
"No you don't! EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled. I hoped this spell would protect Terra. A silver light came out of my wand, turned into a stag and protected Terra.

"Josh, who is he?" Berii asked. She wasn't frightened but she knew she should be.

She thought she had seen him before, but she didn't where. She tried walking towards it but her head began to hurt then her whole body began to feel the same thing. Berii walked back and, as if on cue, the pain disappeared.

Cassidy had, for the first time in her life, frozen in terror. She gripped her broomstick tightly, her knuckles turning white, but she did not move. All the color drained from her face as she stared into the eyes of the snake-man before her.

And then she heard a growl from behind.

She couldn't even scream, but soon found that she had no need to. Behind her stood Andrew, in hsi tiger form, his black and white fur gleaming dimly in the natural light. His blue eyes flashed defensively, and his medallion swung fiercely around his neck, as if he had haluted abruptly.

Andrew looked at her urgently, and then down to the floor. A few professors had gathered, and were shouting for Cassidy's friends to back off and let them handle it. Cassidy finally found her courage.

She hopped onto Andrew's back, her legs squeexing tightly as he leapt off the second floor balcony onto the first floor, where Voldermort stood, preparing to attack.

Cassidy shouted the incantation for her wand to become a bo, and it did so, the black laquer gleaming in the moonlight that filtered through the windows. She stood at the ready, Andrew by her side, growling deeply.

Cassidy narrowed her eyes in confusion.

This can't be Voldermort!" she though to herself. Why would he be here in Hogwarts when he knows all the Professors and Dumbledore are here? It's completely irrational!

Andrew snarled, and leapt at the snake-man, gnashing his teeth, but he only went right through, his thick, sharp nails squealing on the polished floor.

"It isn't him!" Cassidy screamed.

It was then that they heard noises on the roof. Cassidy felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach as the Voldermot apparition disapperated. Those were hoofbeats on the roof.

And they were certainly not reindeer!

"It's those creatures! From the forbidden forest!" she cried. "Snape should have killed them when he had the chance! Why didn't you?!"

Cassidy locked gazes with Snape, who stared coldly at her. The rest of the Hogwarts staff had run outside into the deep snow, to take care of the creatures that were trying to gnash their way through the roof.

Despite the good advice from their professors, Cassidy dashed outside, broom in hand, and took off after her professors. Andrew had half transformed back to his usual self, and called his broomstick to him, taking off after Cassidy. He withdrew a pair of numchaku from his belt.

"Students, get back to you-!" Professor McGonigall ordered, but she was cut short by an attack from the vile creatures, who were now as large as their mother.

Cassidy only had a moment to stray her glance from the bloodthirsty creatures. She looked at the lake, where the creature who had grabbed Karli broke through the ice!

When Cassidy had yelled that it wasn't Voldemort, whoever he was, Berii ran outside and followed Cassidy and Andy, at least she think so.

"Cassidy! What's going on?" she asked, as she looked at the creatures.

"DRAGOTHIC MENISIC!" A voice came from behind the creature. All anyone saw was an orange beam hit the creature. Blowing it backwards, it landed on it's feet, growled, and then dropped to the floor dead as a door knob. I did a front flip over the creature but I slipped and fell on my face. I got up and said, "Ta da!" After a few seconds of laughing I said, "These monsters are abnormally strong, where are they coming from?" I asked Cassidy.

I finally breathed a sigh of relief, looked at Josh and Johann gratefully, and commanded my broom to go lower, and when it was low enough, I lept down to the ground. Running outside to join the others, I put out my wand, annd stuffed it into my pocket..... For now.

I quickly shot to the ground. One of the creatures was on top of me, and I was wrestling it to get off. It bit me on the arm, and I kicked its gut. It flew off of me. I transformed into a falcon, and flew after it, swooping around its head and pecking its eyes. It was soon blinded.
It wasnt to long before I flew up to Cassdy to help her

I stared- then decided to pull out my wand again. As I did, I noticed a creature coming at me. I took a deep breath, and didn't scream- Just said one of the particular charms I was good at: "Wingardeum Leviosa!" Made the wand movement, and pointed it at the beast. It jolted up into the air, and, seing my chance, I waved my wand up and down, making it crash to the ground, then up again.

"They're from a nest in the Forbidden Forest!" Cassidy cried to Johann, flying high on her broom, and fighting off the creature with her bo staff. "They're really vile creatures...so watch ou-"

Cassidy was knocked off her broom by one of the chimeara. She plummited to the ground quickly...

"Accio, broom!" she cried desperately, and grabbed onto it just in time.

One of the chimeara pounced then, rearing its ugly, lion's head, their hooves hitting Cassidy on her collar bone, and pushed her off her broom once more. It was only a few feet to the ground, thankfully, but now the creature had her pinned. Her bo lay just out of reach. The chimeara bent its head to her face and roared loudly, its teeth dripping with saliva.

And suddenly, it wasn't there anymore.

Andrew, in his full tiger form, had come to her rescue, slashing with his sharp claws, his teeth bared menacingly. He fought the beast off her, standing protectively over her as the creature prepared to attack once more.

Cassidy crawled out from under him, and grabbed her bo. Before she could reach it, Snape stepped on it, his foot dirtying the black laquer. Cassidy scowled at him as she looked up into his face. His expression held no emotion.

Snape looked at Andrew, who was busy fighting off a chimeara. Cassidy did not turn her attention from Snape. He glared at her. She pulled the bo out angrily from under his foot, and he stepped back. Before she could clamber to her feet however, he grabbed her by the front of her robes, and pulled her up to face him.

"Watch yourself," he told her. Something strange swam in his eyes. She couldn't recognize what it was...it was so foreign to his persona...so strange...so awkward...Compassion? "The anger you build within yourself will be your undoing. If you carry animosity with your brother, you best make ammends. Despite how others treat you, you must rise above that...or you will become like...me, and eventually like...him."

He dropped her in the snow then, and sped away, killing chimeara right and left. Cassidy lay in the snow. She did not need a name to define who "he" was. She knew he meant Voldermort. Still, Cassidy could not believe what had just happened. All noise had vanished in that moment save for his voice. What he had told her she knew she could confide in no one else. She had seen a glimpse of his soul, scarred and tortured as it was. She looked at him with different eyes as he ran to defend Hogwarts.

A roar close by disrupted her. She rose from the ground, and continued to fight with all she had. A few sixth and seventh years had joined in the fight, a result of the Professors she was sure.

Pretty soon, the chimeara were slain, their bodies dotted the powdery snow. Cassidy looked towards the lake. The monster had disappeared as well. All that remained were the shattered shards of ice around its breaching point. She wondered who had slain it, or let it go...?

OOC: I'll leave that lake monster thingy up to the rest of you...hehe....

I flew silently over to the lake, and landed on the ice. Everything around me was quiet. The lake grumbled, but the water beneath the ice was still calm. I quickly jumped, and changed into a human. I held my wand out infront of me. The monster had reappeared. I took a step back, and when my right foot landed it fell through the ice. I gasped. The creature began to climb out of the water, and towards me...

"Karli!" I yelled to her as I saw the lake monster advancing on her. "What are you doing?!" Running over to her side, I was thinking of a spell to cast on it...
"Petrificus Totalus!" I thought of it, said it, and watched the monster fall in full body bind...

I was shaking rapidly, but not just from the cold. The dream was back, replaying through my head. I fell on the ice, and I dropped my wand.

Cassidy heard Karli's fall into the ice, and flew over on her broom as fast as she could. Sndrew bounded after her in his tiger form. She reached the edge of the lake, sitting on her broom, deciding how to help, but Andrew leapt onto the ice without hesitation. He skidded and slid all over the place, his sharp claws digging into the ice and leaving huge gouges in the ice. He finally reached Karli, sunk his teeth into the back of her robes, and pulled her out of the ice, and back to the bank, away from the creature.

"Be careful, Terra!" Cassidy warned shrilly, watching her friend stun the monster with a spell. She looked down at Karli, whom Andrew had dragged to the bank.

Andrew changed back into a human, and knelt at Karli's side. He looked at her soaked foot, and then back to her.

"You should get inside before you get frostbite," he advised, throwing a glance at Cassidy.

Cassidy paid no attention, and instead flew on her broom over the ice towards the monster to aid Terra. She brandished her bo/wand, and prepared herself for combat.

Andrew meanwhile, waited for Karli to make a decision on what to do about her foot.

I shook my head.
"I have to help my friends"
I reached into my pocket, and pulled out my hankercheif, and wrapped it around my bleeding arm. I then walked towards the ice slowly. I changed into a falcon, and flew towards the creature. It whipped its giant tail at me, like I was a fly. I went for its eyes. I pecked at them and clawed at them. They turned red, and I knew he was blind. I couldnt think of anything else I could do, for I was so small, but I had to try.

OOC: BTW, Legendary_Pokegirl, I like the change of avatar and siggie! Very kawaii!! ^^

After Kali had gouged the creature's eyes out (OOC: owwww.....) Cassidy went after it with her sword, which had once been her bo/wand, but she had used a spell on it to change it to a sword. She jabbed at the creature, but its hard scales acted at armor. It swiped at Cassidy, Terra, and Karli like they were flies, and balancing on her broom while brandishing a sword was no easy task for Cassidy.

She looked back at Andrew, her eyes pleading for help. He ran over, calling his firebolt to his side, and hopping on. He was better at spells and magic than Cassidy, and hexed the creature, throwing spells right and left. Cassidy continued to fly around it, looking for a weak spot to send the blade of her sword...

i put my wand away and yelled at will, "Come on! Follow me!" We went to the locker room and got out good weapons and our show armor.

When we ran back outside, all anyone could see was our mythril arm and leg guards shine in the moonlight. Our black cloaks made us invisible. As we battled the creatures all you could see is silver strikes through the night.

OCC: Thanks Skye! ^_^

IC: I flew over to Andrews side. My wings were beating really fast now. I flew around the creature poking its sides carefully. I shreiked, trying to tell Cassidy that I found a good spot.

I have to get over there some how! I thought as I heard Karlis shrieks/

Flame! I thought remembering my advantage.

"Time to do this Dragonrider style!" I said smiling. I whistle and then called out with my mind, FLAME!

There was a long silence and then there was a mighty roar as Flame swooped down and with a huge burst of flames oblitherated a mass of the creatures, but they kept coming. I jumped on Flames back and said To Karli! As we flew toward her, my father came down and joined the fight with Cherry.

YES! Now they don't have a chance with Two dragonriders on our side! I thought happily.

Cassidy heard Karli's shriek, and flew over on her broom, her sword at the ready. A weak spot! A small part in the beasts's scaly hide. Nimbly, she drove her sword in.

The beast roared in pain as Cassidy withdrew her sword, covered in weird blueish blood. She scruched up her nose at in, thrusting it in the water to clean it off. As she did so, one of the monsters appendages, swiped her off her broom and into the water. She felt herself sinking in the icy water, her robes weighing her down. She held her breath, but felt a strange calm as the cold began to take over. She saw the moonlight above her, dakrness below...she closed her eyes...

***

Andrew had hexed all he could out of the demon before him. Some sixth and seventh years were also attacking the creature, along with the Hogwarts staff. The wind had picked up, bitterly slapping bare skin with no mercy.

He saw Cassidy fall into the water.

Leaping off his broom, he changed into a tiger, and dove into the water. He swam down, grabbing her by the robes, and pulled her to the surface, despite the swaying, dying creature above. He dragged her to the bank, laying her in the snow. Her face was even more pale than usual. It was a pasty blue-gray under the full moon. She was not breathing.

Andrew let out a roar of anguish.
