Misty or May?

I understand people have opinions. Most of the grief I get is because I agree with others that like Misty.

No, you agree with others who are Pok?Shipping fanatics. I like Kasumi, but I like the fact that she's working at the Hanada Gym again, because it's offered up more interesting storylines for her. As evidenced by the three most recent Japanese episodes, once Kasumi is put back in the regular group, she loses all her character again. For God's sake, they gave her a Luriri. A Luriri! Something cute and defenseless that she has to spend all her time carrying around...doesn't that sound familiar? Because i don't like Kasumi when she's not used correctly. You put that Togepi in her arms and she immediately shifts from assertive tomboy to sappy-sweet mother figure and there's no going back ever again. And they could have permanently changed her for the better after Togechick left, BUT NO, they had to give her the freakin' Luriri. See, this is my main gripe with the entire anime - it has the potential to be absolutely sensational, but every time the writers get the chance, they drop the ball (as evidenced by the mediocre Grand Festival and the horribly rushed Hoenn Conference). So, I like Kasumi, but I don't like what the writers do to her - and I really don't like Pok?Shipping, which is completely fan-invented and has no grounding in the Japanese version.

Moral of the Rant: Kasumi's character gets mutilated bad enough without AAML screwing it up more.

As for Pokeshipping being ENTIRELY fan-invented without evidence in Japan supporting it, that is NOT true AT ALL, considering how Misty threw hints quite a few times in the Japanese episodes, but Ash hasn't been exactly the hint-thrower. So it is NOT completely baseless. And Advanceshipping, being the rival shipping so far in fan-population-wise, has no hints in the Japanese episodes at all; most of them are just of Ash saving May and their similar personalitites, which I find striking as well, but their relationship does not seem to be love, either.

Besides, in the beginning of the Hoenn League, May acted like a complete brainless chick with no more purpose than to travel around, and disliked Pokemon.

May was going to collect badges in the beginning so she would be doing something (until she started loving contests), so technically May had a purpose anyway. Besides, May was just beginning to get her character molded out. Misty had five seasons, and she was pretty much ruined by the time Togepi entered.

Of course May was brainless in the beginning. She didn't like pokemon, all she wanted to do was travel, so she probably didn't study pokemon all that much. Either that, or she didn't pay attention, forgot it, etc...

Just because Misty's character is a little different in a small span of three episodes doesn't mean she'll stay that way for good.

If she's been like this for this long, and the writers dumped her again, I don't think she's going to change much. =/

It's his opinion. And from what happened in the three episodes that Misty came back, I can't say I blame him. Seems like the writers are pushing away from Pokeshipping to me, but that's just my opinion.

I don't know why you brought Advanceshipping up, seeing as he didn't mention it (or May for that matter) at all. And again, it's your opinion. It's all up to interpretation.

^You're right, it IS all up to my interpretation, and from the way I interpret things, I say that most of the responses to my facts, details, & observations were all pushed away with a response always relating to Misty being pushed away by many May fans (not ALL) =T

I like may because she looks good and misty because she is a good charachter, but i like the older misty because she was tougher. But i hate both of their shoes. they are orange/have orange in them! and they look like all-stars. i hate orange, and yellow too i think. they should wear vans.

I hate getting shot with yellow or orange fill paint because it looks like vomit and pee. eww. one time i got shot on the hopper with orange paint, and walking back to the staging area sticks and leaves and dust stuck to the orange paint and it looked like vomit completely. it was gross. didnt mean to ramble on like that... sorry...

If the Japanese company didnt like it then surely they would have complained and told then to stop.....but the song exists and it wasnt made by a fan it was made by AN official company who had something to do with Pokemon.

Wether you hate it or not, Pokeshipping is still going to be around and you can't squash every supporter on PC. I actuallty think Pokeshipping is interesting but I don't support it. I also hate 4kids to because they make ppl look like idiots and that we would never understand a deep plot so they have to shallow it up for us. But then again, aren't we all going farther than the thread intended? ^^; May or Misty, not Pokeshipping. That can be for another thread :3

I don't think there are any real hints for Advanceshipping either (even though I support it).

But by the recent episodes, Pokeshipping seems dead to me. How you see Pokeshipping in those episodes, I'll never know. Using old and outdated "hints" isn't going to cut it anymore IMO, but this whole discussion is kind of contarded so I'm not saying anything anymore. -_-

But really, that doesn't mean Pokeshipping has triumphed if Advanceshipping is proven wrong. It just means Advanceshipping is proven wrong. =/

I don't think I'm going too far. There are numerous people in this thread are judging Haruka and Kasumi by which one of them they would rather see Satoshi with in a romantic relationship. What I'm trying to say is that's not relevant to the topic, or to anything at all. And I realize that I can't change other people's opinions, but I figure the least I can do is explain why I disagree with them. I hate any form of shipping that doesn't have at least one example of good, solid evidence from the Japanese version of the show, and both Pok?Shipping and AdvanceShipping fall into that category.

Actually, nearly all shippings fall into that category, but now I'm really going off on a tangent.

Y'know there is no point in having this argument...i never meant that this was proof of exsistance of pokeshipping....i meant that we fans cant be the only ones who see something there...if a company is going to waste money making it then that means that theyve seen the hints too...
And like i said this argument is stupid because im not botherd with 4 Kids.......do i speak Japanese? no...but 4 Kids have translated the show...yes theyve edited it...but there the reason its in English on our f*****g screens...am i right?!

Im not saying this thread should turn into an argument/disscusion about Shippings but it is behind some reasoning.
So i appolagise if ive annoyed people by going on and on but Pokeshipping is one of my reasons for disliking May...once again im Sorry.

What does Ash want and what does he feel?

It is quite clear that some of you want Misty back and some prefer May, but I cannot help but wonder what Ash might want. Throughout the entire series, Ash does not show very many clues to any affection he might feel for Misty and same goes for May. The affection Misty feels for Ash, however, is quite clear and the clues she has displayed, especially in the 'Gotta Catch ya Later' episode, is proof enough of this. Not only that, but the clues Misty shows greatly outnumber the clues Ash has shown. May, on the other hand, has shown none (that I know of). It is clear that Ash has feelings for Misty but the nature of these feelings are unclear. Whether these feelings be love or friendship is unknown but my question is this, "what does Ash want and what does he feel?" Sounds like a whole new topic!

Why hate a character because of a shipping that doesn't really exist all that much in the first place? Some of you guys act like the entire show is about shipping and seem to forget about the pokemon.

Heck, I hate Misty, but I have her paired up with three **** people. Advanceshipping is my favorite, but I like Contestshipping and Hoennshipping (not Franticshipping though, ew XD) as well. I don't understand the big deal. =/

Be honest. And answer in the shipping debate thread. ^^
