moderators?

Poke, mods dont pick mods, s-mods and up do ^^;
There is no need to "prove" anything, but proof is in the fact that the areas are modded very well, apart possibly from webmasters discussion but we'll see how lightning does first ^^

I don't know where this argument that the staff picks their friends to be moderators. I had never talked to Dakota, maybe talked to Kayleigh once or so, never talked to Lightning, never talked to Jake(satoshi-kun), and only talked to kairi and arcanine whenever I was reporting something. The ones that I ever had contact with were nice, but it wasn't like I had ever talked to any of them enough to be friends with them. I am just now starting to talk to some of the staff. The theory of staff picking friends is just garbage.

JK~ -_- Gimme a chance, all right? I'm not a newbie to the webmastering world; I know my stuff. When/if the higher staff decide to put someone more qualified in there, I'll happily step down. For now, though, you might as well have someone covering it.

On the topic of Jason, he's been known to flame members, from what I recall. And he was a mod once, but my memory's fuzzy on why he wasn't remodded and such. =\ In short, I don't think he'll be considered anytime soon. It's not my choice to make, though, so my word doesn't hold much merit.

I mean, think about it: everyone is biased and there's no way to rid yourself completely of it. So if you speak to someone everyday, you recognize their posts more often. Therefore, when thinking of mod candidates, you'll bring them up. However, choosing mods is a group decision. So if one person likes a certain member, but the other people making the decision don't think that member would be good as a moderator, the person won't be chosen. For the most part, staff are chosen based on how well they would perform their job, not because they're friends with the staff.

I entierly agree with that. I understand that it is almost impossible to be complretly unbiased. Nad as PiroMunki said, he didnt know any of that well when he became a mod. So maybe in 1 or 2 cases the fact of friends could be true but not most of the time

My thoughts are that she had all the more chance to offer help in there during the period when it was modless, but she didn't - webbies was left alone to itself. None of the higher staff came in, so we "grew alone". And it's quite annoying to see someone that wasn't part of "the group" to just get modship in there. Kinda like how people had big problems with me picking up forums that I had never been in - TCG for example.

And what i said is the truth, i have nothing to "speak for myself" about -they asked why you werent so i told them, but if that offends you, then i wont mention it :\

Read above, it's kinda intrusive, when someone that we barely know getting control. And knowing our luck, as soon as you take back your SMod spot, you'll forget webbies like before~ What good does it do us then?

It's somewhat different with an area that has been "apart" for most of it's existance. Most of the webbies only post in webbies.

...she didn't post in there when she was SMod either. I've seen her post there maybe a tops of 20 (and I think that's stretching it...) times in my entire time being here. :/

If you want to suggest someone more capable, go ahead. If they're selected, I'll step down if need be. I know where you're coming from, and I do agree to a certain point, but for now I'll do my best, alright? I have always checked it. Maybe not thoroughly like need be, but I suppose we were all just used to you and JA doing such a good job in there, so we didn't realize there was a problem with modding. ._.; I dunno. I do regret not going in there as much and not realizing it wasn't well covered.

If people dislike my modding there that much, I'll drop the forum. =\ I don't want any hard feelings or anything over something like this.
