Lending a Helping Hand
Name: Evan Indigo Graves
Time: 9:00 PM
Location: Central Park

From in the distance, Evan could see the fiery blaze of the meteors as they made their way towards the city. He was a few blocks away, and it would be a matter of minutes before he was able to reach to there. But first, he had another priority at hand. Snapping his head back to the man in front, he noted that he was scrambling to his feet, a metal bar in hand to use as a weapon. Before he could manage to his feet, however, Evan had landed a concussive blow on the man, rendering him unconscious. Letting out an extremely shrill shriek, he bounded off towards the park, the place where he would go to repel the meteors. As for the man, the police would come to investigate the sound, and find him there.

As the park had come into view, he could make out other figures who had beaten him to the punch. They were already destroying the meteorites or otherwise repelling them. As he approached the group, he let out a curt nod and then stopped. "Stay clear of me, for your own safety, alright?" He trudged off, away from the group of strangers.

When he made sure that there was no one nearby who would attain serious injury, he began his attack, or rather defense. With a loud, ear-shattering shriek, he had blasted one of the meteorites. It cracked a little, and with another blast, shattered to neat little pieces that were forced towards the wind tunnel. Glancing over, as if to gain assurance, he had begun the process of bringing down another meteorite.

Practise makes perfect

Name: Thale Edwards and Sgt. Collin Murdoch
Location: Murphy apartment

A heavy crash brought Thale out of his stream of thoughts, and Murdoch seemed to even cheer up slightly upon the sight of chaos. The sight of Lyle and Neil showed Thale he wasn't the only one to think the report of meteors was simply a joke or a trick. A short rumbling and more sounds of damage caused Murdoch to grin slightly.

"He he, now things get interesting..." he joked, although Thale frowned at this.
Thale and the two brothers still looked a little confused and dumbstruck by the situation.

"This can't be happening!" yelled Neil, although he still had more to say. "For once reporting outside myself is actually right about something. Unreal. Lyle, go out there and do something!"

"What do you expect me to do? Take a chunk of Central Park and throw it?" argued the brother, although it seemed obvious to Thale. Lyle sounded slightly sarcastic, as if he had already had an idea.

The two brothers continued to run through a few ideas. It would seem an acceptable idea to see if the meteorites were made of a similar enough material that the earth was made of. Thale nodded at the idea, although it really didn't concern him, while Murdoch simply stood with his arms folded, clearly impatient for some action. Thale wasn't entirely sure what to make of the man. They had met before, if you could call drunkenly ramming into him a meeting, but the man seemed to know more about Thale than he was ready to admit. What was up with him?

"I suggest you head you go out there and stop some meteorites. However, I'd make your way to Central Park. It appears to be more concentrated in that area and if my theory is full of crap you could at least pick up a rock and chuck it without damaging too much property."

"Fine, I'll go. You two are coming with, right?" asked Lyle, as he readied himself for the trip back to central park.

Thale nodded politely, although he seemed a little nervous. "I'm not sure what I could do, but I can try."

"He he..." chuckled Murdoch, as he rubbed his hands together. "Wouldn't miss it for the world, kid. I say we get movin' now before this gets any worse." He suggested, as he moved towards the door, waiting for the others.

"Looks like the invisible girl left." Muttered Lyle. "Oh well, I'm sure she's out there already. By the way Neil, I find it a little odd that everything is happening at Central Park."

Neil mentioned something about him preferring to stay back and do some research into it. Thale was tempted to try and stay back rather than heading out into what was potentially suicide, but he decided against it. If he didn't get some testing into his 'powers', he would never learn how to control them, let alone use them. Clambering up, him, Murdoch and Lyle headed out the door, somewhat ready to face whatever they came across.

~~~
Location: Central park
Entering the limits of the park, the three gazed in awe at the falling of meteors and the sheer display of power. Well, two of them did, as Murdoch simply stared on, focused on the task at hand. It was clear that they weren't the only people here who weren't 'normal'. A tidal wave smashed across from a lake, slamming into an incoming natural formation of rock and saving two people, who scurried off to safety. Another person seemed to be moving them out of the way and then softening the blow with her mind. Telekinetic? But the next thing that caught Murdoch's eye was a wall of pure shadow and emptiness. It seems Miharu made her way here fine.
"Wow. Happy to see the Super Friends show up to the party. Now, let's see if Neil was right." Joked Lyle, as he seemed to focus on a single meteor. It stopped for a moment, and then plummeted back to the earth with significantly less momentum, landing relatively safely. Following Lyle up to the woman who seemed to be moving them with her mind, he smiled slightly. "I hear you need help."
He raised his hands and closed his eyes. As if by magic, a group of meteorites began to slow, and became a thin wall, making the job for anyone else much easier. A thin trickle of blood fell from Lyle's nose. Possibly a side effect from the strain of using his powers on such a huge scale. Thale only wished he had as much control of his abilities, but he knew he didn't. Murdoch didn't seem to be able to help much either, simply standing there, as if he were waiting. Actually, Thale had no clue what Murdoch's 'ability' was, although he assumed it was something to do with his physical strength, but that really was just a guess.
"There, I hope this helps. It would be nice if you could blast them into a lake or something," muttered Lyle, as the bleeding from his nose became more intense.
It was at this that the woman who seemed to be moving objects with her mind spoke up. The plan seemed to be to divert most of the meteorites into the sea. Upon a large gust of wind appearing, Thale gave a more educated guess of her abilities.
"Aerokinesis..." he muttered, as the wind began to spiral.
The woman muttered yelled something about filtering the meteors into the wind funnel, but the sound of the ever increasing hurricane made it hard to distinguish.
The woman turned to another person, who seemed to be doing rather well at launching huge quantities of water at the barrage of meteorites. "Hey, Hydrokinetic, can you help by using the water to start smashing some of the floating meteorites?"
"It doesn't say Hydrokinetic on by birth-certificate!" said the girl, as she turned to a large body of water, stretching out her palms, and throwing most of the lake, smashing a few meteors.
As the girl flung a second pillar of water, it froze mid-flight, capturing any nearby meteorites, which soon melted, dropping them lightly to the ground. It was at this point that Thale closed his eyes slightly, trying to focus. He needed to do something, anything to help the rest of the group. He couldn't just stand here waiting for the others to do everything for him. The easiest way to learn was by doing, not listening. Glancing into the sky, he pin-pointed a meteor. Compared to most of the others, it was tiny, but it could still pose a threat. Stretching out his arm in the direction of the sky, his took in a deep breath.
"Ok... you can do this..." he muttered to himself, although it was just to re-assure himself. "Ok... three... two... one..."
A few sparks flung off of his fingers, travelling down the lower part of his arm, but going no further. Clenching his fist, they began to migrate back up to his hand, and seem to become more violent every second. Was he finally doing it? The electricity from his arm began to become vicious, flinging off in different directions. The display was no-where near as impressive, or as powerful as what the others could achieve, but it meant he was progressing.
Thale blinked, and pulled his arm backwards, as if he were about to punch. "Please work..." he whispered, before he readied himself.
Throwing his arm forward, he flashed open his hand, as if he were going to hit someone with an open palm. The electricity, upon him reaching as far as he could, dispersed from his hand, flinging itself away from him and reaching towards the sky, creating the typical clash of thunder as it did so. Crashing into the side of the incoming, and rapidly falling chunk of rock, it engulfed the meteor, causing it to rip itself apart. Gasping to himself, he managed to stop himself from shaking. It wasn't so much from the increasingly cold weather, primarily from the hurricane winds, but from sheer excitement. It meant he could actually do something about his powers.
Learning to fully control it was a long way off, but it was a break though none the less. "Umm... is there anything I can do?" he asked to anyone who would listen.
Upon his words, and listening for a reply, he glanced around, but failed to locate Murdoch. Where had he gone? He ignored it; if he wanted to leave it was his choice. Something about the unexpected leave didn't seem like a desertion. It looked a little more like a plan to him...
~~~

Name: Sgt. Collin Murdoch
Location: Central Park

"Stay clear of me for your own safety." Said an unknown voice, which caught Murdoch's attention.

It seemed the rest of the group was doing well enough to hold off the meteors on their front. They probably wouldn't notice if he slipped off for a moment to inspect the new-comer, who for some reason believed he could probably handle the situation himself. At least, that's what it sounded a little like to Murdoch. Heading back in the direction of the voice, a sharp pain came over him. It was like a deafening scream, only amplified to an insane level. Murdoch knew a sound like this. He had known a good few many others with 'powers' in his time, and he could only assume that it was infact the creation of a sound manipulator, or at least something similar. A short glance to the sky saw a meteor smash itself to pieces. Someone's defiantly doing something. A second shot of sound caused Murdoch to cover his ears. Standing a little further on, was a boy of about 6ft in height. He could have been forty years old for all Murdoch cared; he'd still be older than the newcomer. As the sound stopped, Murdoch moved in.

"Sonic Scream, eh?" Murdoch grumbled, as he glanced at the other. "Not a half bad power..."

I'll show you!
Evan Graves
Central Park

"Not a half bad power?" Evan grunted a sign of dismay. Taking his mind away from the task at hand, he turned to the man at his side. "I could rend your flesh from here, heck, although it isn't potent, I could make you soil your pants." Evan took a brief moment to survey the man, then went back to his work. "If you don't mind, please step aside, for your own safety!"

Taking a few paces, he got himself a safer distance from the man. He couldn't traverse the whole park, however, in an attempt to get away. So, if the man wanted to get killed, then that was his problem. Wrenching his head back to the meteorites, he took a deep breath. He certainly would prefer to be doing other things... but this would be a catastrophic event, should it be allowed to occur.

As he began to yell, he felt his voice quiver. Abruptly cutting out the noise, he let out slight whimper. His throat was parched, and getting worn. He needed a break, and some water. Well, that was all that he could get on a moment's notice. There were other things that would soothe his throat and vocal cord, but those were a step and leap away. He would have to make due with the basics now. He mumbled a goodbye, and then continued on his way to a water fountain nearby.

Evan pressed the button, and lowered his lips to the stream of water. He was met with icy cold, refreshing water. As he bent, he could swear that he saw the familiar figure of what his brother used to be. Someone that he might have recognized, had he been younger. He had wondered.. but found that it would be better to broach the subject at another time. Shaking his head clear, he made his way a bit closer, and brought down yet another meteorite. His throat was still in pain, but somewhat less now that he had drank the water. A proper remedy would have to come later.

A little bit of history

Name: Ghost and Matt
Location: NYC Central Park

Ghost watched the battle continue. They seemed to be doing well without him. He replaced his sniper on his back and began walking toward the unconcious figure under the tree. As he walked, Ghost became visible again. He crouched in front of Matt and reached into a pocket. "I want some answers from you and I can't do that if you aren't awake." Ghost said. He pulled out a small glass vial from his pocket and uncorked it. The smell made his eyes water slightly.

Ghost placed his index finger over the top of the vial and turned it upside down and then back quickly. Then he replaced the cork and slipped the vial back into his pocket. Ghost placed his index finger on Matt's forehead. "Wake up." He said in a quiet but firm voice. Matt blinked and brought his arm up to rub his eyes.

Ghost stood up and took a step back. "Now that you are awake I would like to ask a few questions." Matt froze and looked at Ghost. He grunted as he tried to teleport but couldn't. "The liquid nulifies your ability for a short period of time. Now, what do you know of Tech and why does he want me to save you?" Matt scowled and pushed himself up.

"Go to hell assassin." Matt muttered and steadied himself against the tree. Ghost hit him hard. Matt coughed and glared at Ghost. "He is one of my friends from school. How do you know him?" Ghost stepped back and lowered his fist.

"He assisted me in a contract. The payment was the removal of your contract. Now he wants me to save you from meteorites. If he is a school kid how does he know computers so well?" Ghost said, sitting down. "I would rather you didn't ask another question after this."

Matt stayed standing. "Tech is a programming genius. His real name is Charles Egabbab and he is the kind of person who is a prodigy in his field. If there was a hacking olympics then Tech would win everything. He does not have an ability." Matt said, scowling. "Anything else?"

Ghost stood up and closed his eyes, storing all this information in his memory. "No, that is all." He turned around. "I must leave, I have an appointment with a man named Dante Marrow." Ghost turned invisible and walked off. Matt stumbled forward and fell over on his front. He was still unstable but he was awake.

Little Bitc-
Name: Paige Alicia Marrow
Location: Central Park

As soon as the last meteorite had been launched through her wind funnel, Paige slowly dropped to the ground, body aching from the use of her powers. She looked to the kid next to her, the blood tracing a line from his nose to his chin. She left him momentarily and grabbed Matthew from the nearby tree, unscathed and slowly becoming more conscious. She grabbed him around the back, and dragged him over to where the Terrakinetic was. Once there she slumped, the weight of the boy too much.

"Everyone, gather around!" She managed to yell and slowly the superhumans surrounded them.

Paige was quite surprised at the amount of them; it was far more than she had anticipated helping in the first place. She looked around at them, noting them all within her mind before she spoke; "Well done people, everyone did great! We were overwhelmed, but we managed to pull through." Paige was physically and mentally exhausted, it had been a very long day, "I would like to meet all of you tomorrow, we need to organise something. If you are interested come to my apartment around 2:30pm. It is late in the afternoon, but some of you look barely older than 16 and this would have taken a lot out on many of you. If anyone needs a place to stay, you can follow me to my apartment, I just need your help getting this guy there." She pointed to the barely conscious Matthew.

Before they left, Paige gave everyone her address in hopes that they would all comeback the next day. Doing this she noticed the Terrakinetic drop like a sack of potatoes. Several followed her back to her place, carrying both Matthew and the Terrakinetic.

Location: Paige's Apartment
It was midday when Paige rose through the folds of sleep and rolled over to take a look at her husband. Instead she was greeted by her daughter, face right in front of where Paige was to roll over.

"Alice, what are you doing here?" Paige mumbled.

"There's people in the lounge." She replied bluntly.

"That's right, say Alice, where is Daddy?"

"Work, he said he no happy."

"And you are in my bed, why?" With that Alice toddled off, Paige hoped to her own bed. The moment Paige closed her eyes however she heard Alice yell from the lounge; "Wake Up!"

Paige bit her lip, trying not to laugh at her daughter before getting up to attend to the monster. She grabbed a pair of pants and t-shirt from the drawers and proceeded down the hall. Alice saw her mother coming and jumped off the table, running and screaming over to the kitchen where she hid in one of the bottom cupboards.

"Little bitc-" Paige caught herself as she entered the lounge. Many of the superheroes were beginning to stir, their alarm clock having just sounded. She waited for the majority of them to wake up before she continued.

"Welcome to my apartment, my name is Paige Alicia Marrow, my power being Aerokinesis; the control over wind." She allowed for a small sphere of wind to coalesce in the open palm of her hand. "It seems you have met my daughter, Alice, the four year old terror. The clock says it is around two o'clock which means that those who did not come last night will arrive. If any of you are hungry, help yourself to the food, but beware the little troll in the cupboard." She now had everyone's attention.

"Once the others get here, we'll continue on, I have a place in mind, for now sit back, relax, and socialise. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Dazed and Confused. Kind of.
Name: Miharu Mizushima
Location: Paige's Apartment
Khmer

Miharu immediately jumped awake when she heard someone, a girl probably the age of four, scream: "Wake up!" She reached for her katana on to grasp thin air. She looked around the room and saw her katana in the corner. Miharu picked it up and securely fastened it on her back.

Last thing I remember is me falling down to the ground after getting rid of most of the meteorites. Did I pass out? I do have some fuzzy memories after falling down to the ground but I can't seem to remember clearly...

Miharu saw the wind manipulator that made the funnel from earlier walk in. The others were stirring awake from the yell. When mostly everyone was awake, but probably not aware, the woman started.

"Once the others get here, we'll continue on, I have a place in mind, for now sit back, relax, and socialize. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
"

Miharu raised an eyebrow.

It appears she automatically thinks herself as the leader. Strange. I wonder why? Miharu blinked. I didn't call mother...

As if on cue, her phone began to ring. She walked outside in the hallway.

"Hello, mom?" asked Miharu.

"Where have you been daughter? We have been worried sick about you!"

Miharu winced. "Sorry mom. Are you guys alright?"

Last time they'd seen each other, Miharu's mum and sister were almost killed by a meteorite.

"We are fine, daughter. Did you overdo yourself again and pass out at someone's house?"

Miharu chuckled. "Something like that. Are you sure you are alright?"

"
Miharu, we are fine. Eat something, it's in the afternoon. How long do you think you are going to be gone?"

"I honestly have no idea."
Miharu frowned. "I'll call you to let you know."

"No you won't. You'll forget."

"I probably will. But you'll call me."

"Alright. Mom loves daughter."

"Daughter loves mom."

They both hanged up at the same time. Miharu hummed.

I think a McDonalds is close by, then again they are always close by. I could grab something from there and come back. My powers are completely recharged, so...

Miharu then disappeared into a shadow. She reappeared in an empty alley near McDonalds, coming out of the shadows.

...I could always do this.

She walked in McDonalds, ordered a McRib meal, got her food, walked back into the alley, and stepped through the shadows. She came out of the shadows and walked back into the apartment. She sat down in the corner and began to eat.

Waking up
Name: Matthew Roberts
Location: Paige's Apartment

Matt felt himself wake up slowly. He became conscious, able to control his senses but unable to move. After a few minutes of listening to everyone sleep, Matt opened his eyes and sat up. He groaned slightly rubbed his head. Muttering incoherently, Matt stood up and walked a few steps to the kitchen sink. He ran the tap and splashed water into his face. That was better. He turned the sink off and looked at a clock. 3:00. Early morning then. That would mean that shops would be closed. Matt vanished.

He appeared in a small room and picked up a book. It was entitled The Amber Spyglass. Matt teleported away again, reappearing in a closed down convenience store. The shelves were still packed from the day before. Matt walked over to the cooling section and looked over the sandwiches. The cooler was running on a low setting. He picked out a ham sandwich and vanished.

* * *

Matt sat in the corner of the lounge, reading his book. He watched the light outside get brighter. He watched the little girl Alice wake up and walk around for a bit. Matt wondered if the girl had noticed him, he wouldn't put it past her. Paige's husband woke up and left, giving Matt no more than a glance. Eventually Paige woke up. This was preceeded by Alice running out of Paige's bedroom and yelling 'Wake up'. Matt grinned and closed the book, folding the corner of the page over to keep his place.

Matt stood up and watched as a girl younger than him walked into the hallway for a phone call. After a few minutes Matt felt a small disturbance in reality as if someone had just teleported. Shortly after as the others were waking up the same thing happened and the girl walked in. Matt teleported over to her corner. "That is an interesting trick you have there miss." He said.

Arrival
Name: Dante James Marrow
Location: Grand Central Station

Grand Central Station, Dante had been through here on several occasions, and while other tourists would marvel at its grand structure, Dante already had plans he needed to set in motion, so his mind was elsewhere. He left the train, pushing through the mass of human bodies in an attempt towards the exit. He hated crowds, in fact, it wasn't the crowds that Dante hated, it was the people. To him, they were vile, repulsive creatures called humans, who possessed nothing at all that was beneficial.

"And I am much more than these maggots." he spat, the words dripping with venom.

He pressed on, his patience wearing thinner and thinner. He wasn't against the loss of human life, he actually enjoyed taking it, but he knew that he wasn't entirely invulnerable and that making a big commotion was likely to draw the attention of his sister. What he needed now more than his sisters attention, was a team.

Dante had managed to make it outside, the sweet smell of air replacing the stench of humanity. He reveled in this air before something set him off, someone or something was following him. Dante took off to his left, going around the whole block and heading down a deserted alleyway. He quickly scaled the wall using his bones to dig into the wall and sat slightly back from the edge so he could watch his follower descend into his trap.

Faster than he could see, a second later her Katana was dangerously close to his jugular. She put it down after a few seconds, suspecting that he wasn't a threat. "Why thank you. Teleportation for you? You were the guy that was passed out near the tree...Overuse of your power?"

Nice Friends we have
Name: Lyle Murphy
Location: Someone's apartment….?

A wave of ringing, buzzing and irrupting noise stirred the waking beast. Rising from what appeared to be the couch in the living room of a New York Apartment, Lyle looked around to see a number of the other super powered individuals from Central Park. Lyle rubbed his eyes to complete the waking process and tried to massage the stiffness in his neck. "Now I remember why I hate sleeping on couches," he groaned quickly to himself. As he came to his senses, the wind powered woman entered the room muttering something obscene. As everyone was slowly regaining consciousness, she began to spoke:

"Welcome to my apartment, my name is Paige Alicia Marrow, my power being Aerokinesis; the control over wind." She allowed for a small sphere of wind to coalesce in the open palm of her hand. "It seems you have met my daughter, Alice, the four year old terror. The clock says it is around two o'clock which means that those who did not come last night will arrive. If any of you are hungry, help yourself to the food, but beware the little troll in the cupboard. Once the others get here, we'll continue on, I have a place in mind, for now sit back, relax, and socialise. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask."

Part of Lyle wanted to speak with everyone else, but he never did well in crowds. It was more he didn't want to make a terrible first impression as he did not recognize anyone in the room. He didn't help he wasn't sure what Paige was planning, but part of him liked her or at the very least he trusted her. She did bring him to her room after he passed out. At least he assumed he passed out as he has no recollection of what occurred following his attempt to stop the meteor storm. The fact she helped him was enough reason to trust her, at least for the time being. Maybe I should get to know her at the very least, he thought to himself. But first, I should probably call Neil. Reaching into his pockets, Lyle took out his cheap flip phone and messed around with the buttons until he found Neil's number. Standing by a nearby window in the lounge, Lyle waited for Neil to pick up with noticeable impatience.

"Hello? Lyle? Where the hell are you?"

"Someone's apartment. I am fine. I think I passed out again."

"Who's this someone?"

"She calls herself Paige Alicia Marrow," Lyle said quietly as to avoid Paige from hearing him. "Are you going to Google that? Stupid question."

"I'll get back to you. Stay out of trouble."

"Fine. You too. I'll see ya later." With that the brothers hung up on one another. It was an average conversation, with no ill feelings between them. The trust amongst them keep their relationship strong. I may as well find out about Paige myself. Its probably more effective than a google search.

Walking over to Paige carefully as to not break any valuables, Lyle noticed the mild quarrel including the invisible girl and her sword. Lyle expected as much from her. She didn't seem to like people.

Lyle attempted to avoid being awkward when he introduced himself: "Hey, um thanks for bringing me here. Being stuck out there went I was out cold would of sucked," he attempted to chuckle but it was obviously forced. "My name is Lyle. Lyle Murphy. And nice friends we made. We are already threatening each other," he said with sarcastic bite added for good measure.

Paige watched as one by one, most of the people awoke, slowly coming to their senses. It didn't take long before one came up to her, and she noted that this was the Terrakinetic, one of the two she and the others had dragged back.

Hey, um thanks for bringing me here. Being stuck out there went I was out cold would of sucked," he attempted to chuckle but it was obviously forced. "My name is Lyle. Lyle Murphy. And nice friends we made. We are already threatening each other," he said with sarcastic bite added for good measure.

Paige chuckled a little at his attempt at a joke and smiled back. "Lyle, thats a very interesting name, you did well out there yesterday, congrats. I agree, being stuck out there would have sucked big time, your just lucky i'm a nice person," Paige inwardly groaned at her bad joke. "Well we are most likely going to become close friends or dire enemies over the next couple of weeks, there is a lot that will happen."

"By the way, when is your brother going to join us?" Paige added before she forgot, "We could definitely use someone like him. Also, how would you like to be a hero?"

Thale was still a little light-headed from the earlier encounter. He had finally done something right!This was a good sign, and meant that he would be able to do more than just charge some batteries, which previously would have been the only thing he thought he would be able to do. Pulling the key to his apartment from his pocket, he pushed it into the lock and then turned it, which was followed by the familiar click. He gently pushed open the door, and was met with the usual attire. It wasn't like he had expected anything else though. He pushed the door back so that it clicked once more, and then re-locked it. He was tired, an even thought it wasn't particularly late, he wanted to get the night over with. Him, and all of the others involved in the Central Park for that matter, had planned to meet at one of the others apartment, seemingly to discuss what they were going to do next.

What were they going to do next? It wasn't like they were on anyone's hit-list, even if it was far too likely that they had been seen during the escapade earlier. Maybe it would be a good idea for Thale to get his bearing among the world of the 'superheroes'. Besides, now that Thale knew he could charge some level of electricity, he had now begun to wonder what else he could do, and this could be a short-cut to working out anything else.

Thale yawned violently, as he slumped down onto his bed. He was far too tired to change at all, and under normal circumstances he probably would have spent the whole night working and then not bother to change clothes anyway. He rested his eyes for what felt like a second, although in all honesty he had fallen into a deep sleep. Today had been hectic.

After sleeping on the floor for the night, Murdoch would have been almost furious at the awakening, no matter how rude he was. He would have said something if he had not glanced at his watch, which said somewhere around midday. A second round of footsteps signalled the arrival of the Aerokenetic, who proceeded to introduce herself to the group of people who were beginning to stir.

He caught her name, which was Paige, although his thoughts held onto one sentence. "If any of you are hungry, help yourself to the food,"

Murdoch was starving, since he had barely eaten anything yesterday other than breakfast, missing lunch and dinner altogether. The others seemed to be conversing between themselves and generally getting their whereabouts, although Murdoch really wasn't in the mood. He'd talk if he was talked to, but really didn't feel like starting any kind of conversation. Clambering up off the floor though, he realised just how much he hated sleeping on the floor. His whole body ached, even more so than usual. He wouldn't be able to lift anything huge today...

Glancing around at the people in the view, they all seemed marginally younger than he was. But then again, that was a common situation. Nether-the-less, they all seemed to be friendly, or at least nice enough to work with, which would always make the situation a little simpler. Only two people Murdoch recognised in the area were Lyle and Miharu, although he had seen one or two of the others during the Central Park situation.

Thale quickly fixed his tie as he glanced at the door the the apartment. This is where he was supposed to be, and he knew many of the others had stayed the night here, meaning that he would probably be one of the later arrivals. He rose his hand and made a loose fist, before rattling his hand against the door twice, making the typical 'knock knock' sound. Now he simply waited for someone to open the door for him. He just hoped he had the right apartment...

The Warehouse Is Not Just A Department Store.
Name: Paige Alicia Marrow
Location: Apartment

The knock at the door took Paige's attention from talking as she worked her way over to the door, opening it to find a young man standing there looking fairly well presentable.
"Come in," she motioned, holding the door for him to step through. Once he was in, she shut the door, and after a quick "excuse me", she moved off to her bedroom where she retrieved her cellphone, dialing a number into it.

"Paige, its been awhile," the voice spoke, "how are you?"
"I am good thank you, and yourself? How are the wife and kids?" he replied.
"They are doing fine, however i believe that you haven't rung me to see how my life is. is that correct?"
"You got me, but I would like to call up a favour."
"Paige.....you know the old days are over, don't you?"
Paige picked up an old newspaper clipping from her dressing table, it was faded with age and the picture was barely recognisable. The two figures that stood out most were a younger version of herself and an even younger boy, her brother."I know," she replied, replacing the piece of paper back, "however I am beginning to think that after yesterday, the old days were just the beginning."
"I don't do that sh*t anymore, I can't do anything. I'm sorry."
"Vaughan, that's not what I wanted."
"Then tell me, what is it that you want?" His voice slowly becoming more angry.
"I want.......the Warehouse." she replied, the line going silent, "Vaughan?"
"I'll see what I can do, you owe me for this."
"I always owe you Vaughan, thanks heaps." Paige closed the lid to the phone, cutting off the call. She walked back into her living room full of people and within seconds her phone vibrated angrily. She flicked it open, took once glance at the displayed message then closed it again.

"Excuse me everyone," she said, clearing her throat to get their attention, "I have a place to show you, so if you could follow me, the walk won't be very long. And whoever is last, can you please shut the door? It will lock on its own."

Paige walked out of her apartment building followed by the people that had been in her apartment. She chuckled to herself as they followed her down the streets of New York. After several blocks they made it into one of the more derelict parts of New York, stopping in front of an old, derelict department store. Stopping at the security panel on the side of the door, Paige flicked her phone open to the text message she had just recieved and entered the code into it. The panel beeped twice before the doors opened up and she ushered everyone into the large foyer.

"As you are probably wondering, this is no department store, its name is the Warehouse. Several years back, I used to be part of a small band of people whom possessed powers. We worked from here, helping the world with catastrophes and crime in New York City and its surrounding area. The problem was that we were small in numbers, and the American Government wished to keep tabs on us if we wished to carry on. Suffice to say, we did not last long and soon were run underground, our warehouse being the only place safe for us.

We disbanded after a few years and carried on incognito. In short, with you guys and others like us cropping up all over the world, I would like to revive our group and make it better. The only problem is that the Government and United Nations now know of this place and if we are to continue, it is to be alongside them. I know some of you may be like I was and not want to be recorded, but I learnt my lesson for being selfish and regret it to this day.

You are all welcome here, if you join me or not, but those who join will be allowed full access to all areas of this facility as it has been built to accompany many people and for our benefit.

Who wants to be a hero?"

Paige waited, taking a breather after her long speech. "I am here if you need to ask any questions," she motioned to the circular pad in the floor next to her, "if you wish to join me, step on this pad and tell the computer your full name, age and superpower, it will register you into its system."

I have to ask my mum first before joining any cults.
Name: Miharu Mizushima
Location: Apartment

Before the person who teleported over to her corner could even open his mouth, the women who owned the apartment spoke.

"Excuse me everyone," she said, clearing her throat to get their attention, "I have a place to show you, so if you could follow me, the walk won't be very long. And whoever is last, can you please shut the door? It will lock on its own."
She then walked out of her apartment. Others seemed to follow her while Miharu raised an eyebrow.

There she goes again, acting like she could control everyone without problem. I know that's not her power due to the fact that she was the one who created the wind funnel, although in examples like me you could possibly have two although I'm pretty sure the reason why I have these two powers is because they are intertwined; Yin and Yang, Light and Dark, Good and Evil. Hmm, I wonder if that means if I become an evil villain at some point. That would be hilarious. Anyways, back to my original train of thought, it seems that any reason that she "knows" she would be followed is because she must have been a leader of another super power group.

Miharu was the last person out the door and as such, she closed it. She could hear the lock clicking and wondered what type of security she had as it seems fairly useful. She then followed the rest of the "mindless drones" out to the streets of New York. After walking a few blocks, they stopped in front of an old abandoned department store. There was a modern security panel on the door while the department store seemed to be quite older to have modern security, meaning that things were not what they seemed. The women used a code on the security panel, and Miharu made sure she remembered it, and the door to the department store opened wide.

Everyone was herded to a large foyer before Paige began talking again.

"As you are probably wondering, this is no department store, its name is the Warehouse. Several years back, I used to be part of a small band of people whom possessed powers. We worked from here, helping the world with catastrophes and crime in New York City and its surrounding area. Who wants to be a hero?"

So that's why she thought that she everyone could follow her. My hypothesis was right, she was part of a group before. And this thing with the American government...tch. I have no want to be deported and to be the reason why my family is deported. If I don't do the things that they want me to do, they do have the power to blackmail me and pretty much use me. This will not be a favorable position.

Paige waited, taking a breather after her long speech. "I am here if you need to ask any questions," she motioned to the circular pad in the floor next to her, "if you wish to join me, step on this pad and tell the computer your full name, age and superpower, it will register you into its system."

"I'm sorry, but my mother always told me to ask her before joining any cults," said Miharu sarcastically. "And first off, 'Who wants to be a hero?', that might work on movies and TV shows, but this is sort of real life. Although our powers are something that comes out of comic books, this is still reality. Also, I don't mind being "a hero" as you called it, but I do not wish to tangle up with the American government. I'm an immigrant as such could be a liability towards the cult. After all, if the American government told me to spy on the cult or risk being deported along with my family, I would spy on the cult. Although I could always tell lies to the American government I suppose, but still, I have no wish to be deported or black mailed or threatened. Whenever trouble pops up, I can help, in fact I want to help, and it's not because of your 'Who wants to be a hero?', because that's just stupid, but I do not want to risk my family being deported. This is a clean start for us, and I have no wish to destroy that."

Miharu, after saying her part, calmly waited for Paige's answer.

Paige was stunned at what this girl said and once finished, Paige responded. "First off, this is not a cult, there is very little about us that makes us a cult, we are here to help. Like your powers, there are two forces in this world, the good and the bad. Yin and Yang. God and Satan. The world is made up of opposing forces. We ourselves are opposed by our own kind, there are those of us out there like us who wish to bring the world to their knees and we are here to stop them." Paige paused, shocked at what was coming out of her mouth.

"My brother was one of those people," she whispered, then continued, "my brother is one of those people! I risked my life, the life of my child and the life of my family to stop him from destroying the world and only barely managed to do so. He is out there now, he is on his way here to kill us all because we are the ones that stand in his way. Sometimes, just sometimes we have to put others before ourselves; its called self-sacrifice and if you don't wish to sacrifice yourself and your family for the greater good, then you can just leave because you will be of no help!" Paige felt tears slipping down her cheeks and quickly she wiped them away.

Composing herself, she continued, "I learnt my lesson long ago when my brother killed our mother and father because I had been selfish. I put my own needs before the greater good and he killed our parents because of that."

"As this girl brought up, the government cannot necessarily be trusted, but a sanction drawn up by myself and our government liaison stops them from doing anything like what this girl has said. We are safe from them. And for those of you with family, we can get family quarters set up so you can bring them with you, this place is one of the safest places on this earth."

Miharu raised an eyebrow. "First off, with your concept of Yin and Yang you are forgetting one very important thing. Even the purist person has a little bit of evil inside of them, and same with the opposite. Not everything is in black and white, but only in shades of gray. Oh, and I'm sorry if I don't feel like risking my mother's and my sister's life, I wouldn't care if my own life being at stake, but I draw the line at their lives. If you tell me in order to join this "group" that I would have to risk their lives, I am gone before any of you can blink. And you know what? Sorry about your brother but there are all kind of arses out there. However, they aren't born evil, in fact no one is born evil or good, it depends on the choices that you make and the circumstances that happen to you and whether you break or grow stronger from those difficulties.

"Oh, one definition of a cult is 'A group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.,' Technically, you can call it a cult as we are a group that is bound together by the same thing; we all have powers." Miharu shrugged. "Of course, it'll only be one of those crazy cults that you hear about TV if Paige-san makes it a cult like that. All cults aren't necessarily bad you know. They are only "bad" in the sense because people give them a bad name.

"Oh, my name is Miharu, but you can call me Mizushima, Paige-san." Miharu smiled politely, although the sarcasm in the smile was quite palpable.

"You know what? I give up. If you do not wish to join us here, then just leave, I don't care. Don't come back, because it seems that you don't want to. Oh, and by the way, the doors code changes so the one you saw is no longer usable."

Paige turned to the rest of the group. "If any of you have family, they are willing to stay here. If you wish not to be a part of this 'cult' as Miss Miharu put it, then feel free to leave, the door is that way," motioning behind them.

"We have no time for petty arguments, are you with me? or not?"

Unwavering Loyalty
Name: Lyle Dunne Murphy
Location: Batcave…I mean Warehouse

The whole situation around him was getting heated. Lyle did not care much about was going on, as it was expected at this point. In almost typical fashion Miharu got into some heated argument with Paige over the founding of the "Superfriends" or "Justice League." Whatever it was going to be called, it did not really matter. What mattered was Miharu's remarks were out of line especially for a girl her age and clearly the formation of his group was important to Paige. Her brother, whoever he is, was a threat to everything and everyone around him. His family, his newfound friends, everyone he knew was at risk. To Lyle, that was enough of a reason to join. He didn't need to argue or hear some speech. He needed a reason. He got it.

In all likelihood, Paige's brother is what Lyle probably would of become had he not had the guidance of Neil and his grandparents. They set him on the right path. Accepting him and helping him come to terms with it. There is probably more to the story for Paige's brother, but it seemed to strike a nerve in Paige. A nerve probably better left untouched. For now, Paige needed support. Whether its her kind nature, her desire to do good, or the fact that she is probably the closest thing he has to something of a friend, Lyle wanted to stand by her.

"Unlike Miharu here, I don't need to get into some prolonged debate over good and evil, ying and yang, right and wrong. I know what I am getting myself into and I don't need Mommy's permission to do something.," Lyle began making his way to the pad Paige motioned to earlier. "I know what I want to do. I want to protect this world. I want to help people and joining this group with finally give me the opportunity." Lyle said clenching his fist tightly. Standing before the computer, Lyle prepared his information: "Lyle Dunne Murphy. 23. Earth Manipulation." Lyle then stood by Paige, assuming second in command, at least in his mind. He hoped his bravery would move the others into action.

"And if we are lucky, my clever older brother will join as well. He is a good spy to say the least since he almost always seems to get his hands on some hard to get information. He calls it a trade secret."

Miharu smiled before stepping up on the pad after Lyle. "Name, Mizu...er...Miharu Marakot Mizushima. Age 14. Powers are Shadow and Light Manipulation."

She glanced at the most likely shocked group. "It was a test. Although, I am quite sorry that you started spilling out your life story to us, but it was a test. If you had tried to do anything less of trying to give me a sharp kick in the ass, then I would have left. A leader must be strong at all times, no matter what difficulties stand in the way." Miharu paused. "Though it seems that you have already learned that lesson. Sorry about the test, though I'm not really that sorry, but trust comes hard. Maybe we should trade sob stories?"

Miharu stepped off of the pad and back to where she stood before, then blinked as her phone started to ring. She picked it up.

"Yes, mum?"

"My mother senses have been tingling. Have you joined a group without asking me first?"

"...Yes?"

Naline sighed. "Daughter, what sort of group have you joined? I know you wouldn't join a group without any reason, I trust you in that way."

"I just joined a group where there are people like me, although this means that I could be called from the house at any moment and could be away for a long period of time."

"...Do you know when you are coming home?"

"Sorry mum, but I have no clue. Paige, that's the leader apparently, is still trying to recruit people."

"Did you test her?"

"I did the old, good vs. evil, cult thing, and family. But we are going to be tangling up with the American Government. I'm afraid that..."

"...We could be deported? Lene has a Canadian citizenship although we'll have to wait a bit before getting our American citizenship. Unless our visa expires, they can't send us out. Don't worry daughter, just worry about keeping yourself safe."

"Alright, love you."

"Love you too daughter."

They both hanged up at the same time.

Communication Problems
Name: Matthew Roberts
Location: Paige's Apartment

Matt was about to respond to the girl when Paige made an announcement. A warehouse. That sounded promising. It was just what that promised was what Matt couldn't decide on. He put a hand in his pocket and pulled out the phone. It was best not to involve Tech yet. He could be useful but getting tracked could get in the way. He turned the phone off and replaced it in his pocket. Tech might worry but Matt could handle himself for the short period of time.

He followed Paige to the Warehouse, slightly bored of walking. He hoped that this would be worth the walk. Eventually they arrived at the building. It looked ramshackle and not particularly stable. "Interesting disguise." He muttered to himself as they entered. Paige made a speech and it was quickly responded to by the girl with the katana. Matt rolled his eyes and walked into a corner. He pulled out the phone and wondered if he ought to turn it on or not.

He looked up after about a minute. It seemed Miharu was finished with the conversation. Matt got up and walked forward. He paused in front of the machine and then turned away. He walked over to Paige.

"I have already been marked by the Government as a thief. I have had an assassin attempt to kill me. I still don't know what the Government intends with me and I don't want to mark all of you with that. I can have no record of being here at all." He said. "If you have a technopath that can shield this place from any intrusion then give me a call. I will be happy to help you whenever you ask but I cannot become a part of your group."

Matt pulled out his phone. "I will be back a bit later. Tech will want to know what is happening." He vanished. Back outside Matt turned the phone on and immediately a message appeared. Is everything okay? You're phone went off and I couldn't track you. Matt groaned. Tech had worried. He sent a message back. I will join you and explain. I need you to try something. Then Matt teleported away.

***

Name: Matthew Roberts and Charles Eggabab
Location: Somewhere in England

Matt reappeared in a badly lit room. Wires ran all around it and several computers sat beeping quietly to themselves on tables. A large wheely chair sat in the centre of 5 monitors. Each monitor had a different set of windows displaying. One had about 20 small windows of command prompt open each running different processes. One had a fullscale map of New York with about 7 red dots on it. Another was plain white with a single line of text on it. Another was sitting on a desktop that was covered in executables. The last one was off.

"Hi Tech." Matt said. The figure in the wheely chair spun around and grinned. He had blonde hair that was cut short and small green eyes. His face was dotted with acne and his hair was slightly greasy. "You need to have a shower." Matt said.

Tech smiled and turned on the other moniter. He did a bit of typing on the single keyboard and the screen flashed onto a scale image of Tech's house. There were small blue dots placed around the area so that no single part of the house couldn't see one. One room was exempt from this. Tech pushed a button and the blue dots in one room turned red.

Tech turned the moniter off and spun around again. "We are now unrecorded. What was it you wanted to discuss." Matt explained about Paige and the Warehouse. He explained what he had observed of the other's powers. Tech sat all the while, listening. When Matt was finished Tech turned the moniter on again and switched it to a different window. This was a folder full of different files. Tech opened an executable and let it run.

"Tech. You know the Warehouse? I want you to check it's protection and then add to it. If you can fit it in I would also appreciate it if you could find and delete as much Government data about the Warehouse as possible." Matt said. Tech nodded and pressed a button. The camera's in the room went on again. "Thanks." Matt said and vanished.
