1st Gen MonoSPECIES Challenge (Red, Blue AND Yellow)

Quick update. I was battling an Engineer on the Route East of Vermillion... and I just realized, Surge isn't going to be very fun :(. Somehow Gibson managed to beat a Magneton when he only had 6 HP left. I <3 it even more now... Also, they both learned Gust! Finally I can take on Psychic types and stand a chance! YAY!

I haven't even gotten on the S.S. Anne though :(...

OK, just caught a Drowzee for the Dex and boy, it was annoying! First, I used Gust and, it worked pretty well... but then the... THING just had to use Disable and Gust just HAD to be the one... a fricken 25% chance... RAWR! So the next turn, I tried to Poison it... and it didn't work. By this time I was getting a bit mad since Psycho was losing a bit of HP. Tried the Poison again, it worked. Yay. Then the next turn I used Confusion, it whittled Drowzee's HP to about 10, made it confused AND it was poisoned. And yet, it STILL survived! So I decided, "What the heck... I'll just catch it." I did exactly that, and named him Fatty because, he needs to lay off the twinkies. I also laughed when like two steps later it said, 'Fatty Fainted'... I think I'm losing it.

"Hey Mom, guess what I did today?"

"What sweetie?"

"Rubbed the Captain's back! He gave me a tool so I could use Cut myself!"

"OH NO! CALL THE THERAPIST! It's OK... everything will be OK..."

So... yeah. I rubbed the Captain's back and he gave me Cut... not a fair trade. I'm scarred for life... Now I guess it's time to say Good Bye to the Ol' S.S. Anne and say "YO!" to Lt. Surge.

Oi... Lt. Surge was tough, but not tough enough. The first time I faced him, he got lucky with a couple of critical-hit-thunderbolts. The second time, I had to poison Raichu first to make sure I can get SOME damage in every turn, then I just sat back, used a LOT of Super Potions, sometimes hit with a Confusion, then the Thunderbadge was mine! Yes! ... Maybe I DO have to train a bit more :/.

Team:
Gibson (Butterfree) L: 32
-Gust (:D!)
-Poisonpowder (Nice annoyer)
-Sleep Powder (This thing is a life saver!)
-Confusion (<33)

Psycho (Butterfree) L: 32 (He's won me two Badges so far :D!)
-Gust
-Poisonpowder
-Stun Spore
-Confusion (<33)

HM Slaves: Charmander (Cut)... more Like Emomander.

Hey guys (and girls), I was thinking, after this challenge is done, that I would set up a G/S/C Monotype. Yeah, I've seen a few fail in the past, but I wanted to see if any of you would like to be apart of it?

Just a thought, though it won't be set up 'til Sunday at the earliest ( I still need to beat this challenge >.<).

Also, I don't know if I wanted to do Monotype, Monospecies, Starter-only, or whatever. So if you could throw in your two-cents for that as well, I'd appreciate it :). Thanks and good luck with the challenge you are working on!

Just for feedback's sake, I'd vote for a GSC monotype too. It'd be interesting to work our way through it.

Curiosity speaking, but is this any available starter (as in, trading from RBY to use a Kanto starter is an option as well), or are we sticking to pure Johto starters and just doubling up or something on claims?

I had something special planned for that. (Shh... surprises are fun :)!) I'll post the... erm, "surprise" along with the new challenge when I get it all squared away. I've planned it out so that EVERYONE gets their shot with a Johto Starter... no matter how late they re to the sign-ups.

My first battle after my save point was a Mankey. I decided, since a solo Primeape was a little… I dunno… bad… I caught it. I raised my Mankeys both to Level 13, I heal up and start off to Viridian city.

First bug catcher was easy, 5 scratch attacks and he's down. The second catches took 7 scratches, while the third took 6. After the 3rd battle, Mankey grew to 14. I battle the last trainer and exit to Pewter City. I immediately heal up and head to the gym.

I got sidetracked at head into the museum. On the way out, I spotted the gym and went to it. Jr. Trainer was a snap.

Here's the Brock Battle:

I started off my game in Pewter after the gym, and head straight to the route to the right. I battled all the trainers with my Mankey except the Jigglypuff trainer. Mankey went straight through everything all the way until it. It fainted easily. First it got singed, then I woke up and Karate Chopped but got disabled, got singed again, woke up, Karate Chopped it, got encored, disabled, and singed, and then fainted. So other Mankey comes out and kicks his butt. Now the levels are 17 and 14. I decided to raise the 14 one.

I headed into the maze of mount moon. While wondering along the trail, I find a rare candy and give it to my now Level 16 Mankey, so they are both at level 17. I don't feel like listing all my trainer stuff. I got in a tough battle with a lass, leaving my Mankey with 6 HP. Good thing I had 4 potions.

After a long painful journey, I find the Super Nerd. It was a painful battle that I won. I got the Dome Fossil. Kabuto!

Just when I was about to get out, Jesse and James pop up. I finished out the battle with a fainted level 17 Mankey and a Level 20 Mankey with 8 HP. Tough, huh?

I finally make it to cerulean! I heal immediately, then head straight to the gym. Jr. Trainers, where slices of pie, but I still had to heal after them.

Here's the Misty battle:

Man... I started this challenge too late... all of the good early pokemon have been taken... sigh...

Is it ok if I go with wartortle for this challenge?

Blastoise/Wartortle have already been taken.

Darn it... Oh well.....

I'll take the Magikarp family then. I can get one from that loser at Mount Moon and go from there.

I'm rather late, but I'd like to take this challenge anyway, seems pretty fun. Since Nidoran(M)'s already taken, I guess I'll go with Nidoran(F).

Okay, UPDATE.

HM Slaves:
Drowzee (SLAVE)- Flash
Oddish- Cut
Squirtle- Surf/ Strength
Spearow- Fly

Viridian City

Okay last time I updated I had a Nidoran at level 10, so; before I challenged Gary I leveled him to level 13 (or 14). Then I went West of Viridian, challenged Gary, and killed his Pidgey with 3 Horn Attacks. Bulbasaur was a little harder, Pidgey's Sand Attacks finally kicked in, so it took 6 tries, with 3 connecting. Now that I was done with this part of the game, I decided to go to the Forest.

Viridian Forest

Barely worth mentioning... I absolutely destroyed all those pitiful Weedles with a maximum of two Horn Attacks, even the Kakunas only warranted an extra Horn Attack... By the time I exited my Nidoran was level 15, so I headed up to Pewter.

Pewter City

After healing up I went straight to the Gym and took out the Junior trainer easily, though his Sand Attacks really wore on my nerves. With that done I again healed up and challenged Brock. Geodude took 3 Leers (THANK YOU LEER!!), and two Horn attacks to put down, which leveled Nidoran to level 16. And I believe I took Onix down with about 5 Leers (THANK YOU BIDE!!!!) and only 3 Horn Attacks, leveling Nidoran yet again to level 17, and I proudly walked away with the BOULDERBADGE. I then went to the mart, sold Bide, and bought 15 potions (for Mt. Moon).

Pewter City--> Mt. Moon

Again not really important, I battled all the trainers, and leveled up to level 20 (with 21 like 15 exp points away!!). I also evolved when he leveled to 18 Nidoran about halfway through the trainers. I again quickly healed up and headed into Mt. Moon.

Mt. Moon

'Wow it was easy' is all I have to say about Mt. Moon, I first taught Nidorino Water Gun then proceeded to blast every trainer I could find... I emerged with a level 25 Nidorino, and only used 4 Potions.

Cerulean City

Tom (my rival) only took one or two hits for each Pokemon to go down, and (taking a page out of Jax's book) I swept through the Nugget Bridge easily. I then challenged each trainer in the area, and several wild Pokemon before I deemed Nidorino ready to go against Misty, which was level 29. The trainers in the gym were simple, as was Misty, two blows to her precious Starmie was too much for it, and I walked away with a level 31 Nidorino, and a CASCADEBADGE.

Cerulean City--> Vermillion City

Took out the trainers easily with Nidorino, and entered Vermillion at level 32.

Vermillion City

Hopped onto the SS Anne, beat all the trainers and rival, rubbed the old man's back (EEEWWWW!!!), and came out with Cut and a level 35 Nidorino... Taught Cut to an Oddish, and Bubblebeam to Nidorino (to replace Water Gun), and Body Slam (to replace Tackle). Then proceeded to kick some thunder butt in the Gym. And I came out with the THUNDERBADGE, and my Nidorino at level 38. Before leaving I taught Nidorino Thunderbolt (to replace Leer).

Vermilion City--> Viridian City

Went through Diglett cave, with repels to avoid unwanted battles, quickly retrieved Flash and turned back.

Vermilion City--> Rock Tunnel

First picked up a Bike Voucher, grabbed the bike, then headed east. Quickly swept through the trainers and arrived at Rock Tunnel with a level 40 Nidoking, I evolved it as soon as I could.

Rock Tunnel

Easy battles (THANK YOU BUBBLEBEAM!!!), and I arrived in Lavender Town at level 41.

Lavender Town

Beat my rival, beating him easily, and coming out with a level 42 Nidoking. Nothin' else.

Lavender Town--> Celedon City

Basically just battled the trainers, took no time at all, arrived in Celedon City with my Nidoking level 44.

Celedon City

Went to the Gym first thing, and destroyed all but one trainer there (because of low PP) and challenged Erika. I had to use a Super Potion here... though it still took only a few hits each... And walked out of the gym with my Nidoking level 47, oh and I got the RAINBOWBADGE. Then went to Coin Corner and just KILLED, it made the Gym seem hard, Giovanni went down without a fuss and I just walked out... Before heading to Lavender I grabbed Fly, and taught it to my Spearow...(Nidoking was at level 48)

Lavender Town

When I arrived in Lavender I went straight up the Tower, killing the people I walked past, and just running from the wild battles. Beat the rockets up top, and got the Poke Flute. My Nidoking was, now, at level 49

Lavender Town--> Fuchsia City

Poke Flute in hand I biked straight down to Fushcia, battling against most, but not all of the trainers, and came into Saffron with my Nidoking at a respectable level 53.

Fuchsia City

First I went to the Safari Zone, and grabbed Surf and the Gold Teeth (took 3 tries.... I hate Safari Zone). Then got Strength from the Warden. I then taught both HM's to my Squirtle. Before heading straight to the gym I went west and UP the Cycling Path, which was very hard.... Now at level 54 I decided to challenge the gym, and beat Koga easily, coming out with a SOULBADGE and a level 56 Nidoking.

Now I'm heading into Saffron...

I r jealous yuoaman... I'm only in Pokemon Tower. But, you have one and I have two... plus I was going to go down both Silence Bridge and the Cycling Road o.O!

Ok, updating.

Passed through Rock Tunnel with minimal damage, only having to use a few Super Potions, no big deal. Went down the Route to Celadon. Again, no problem. Faced the Rockets in their Game Corner, my Butterfree's are amazing! I'm now in Pokemon Tower and... for some reason... Confusion isn't OHKOing these dang Gastlys...!

Saffron City

Grabbed the Water in Celedon then went straight to Saffron. Battled the Dojo (don't know why O.o), got Hitmonchan, and my Nidoking leveled up again!! After my ?victory? I headed to Silph Co., beat one rocket, which somehow leveled me up again, then saved and shut it off...

After defeating Misty, I head to the Pokecenter to heal up. Then I start to the bridge. Out pops rival. Number of turns taken: 10

What a slice of pie. I head to the Center to heal up, and the bridge quest starts again. After finishing, I heal and to train, head to Bill's house. Then I got pissed against the Level 17 Onix because the friggers kept saying Karate Chop is not very effective on it!?!?!?!?!? Then after that, since my Mankeys died, and all I had left was that Charmander a guy gave me, I headed to the center and dumped the Char.

Oh… I HATE SLOWPOKES!!! Stupid Youngster with your stupid party and your stupid level 17 slowpoke…. And headed to Bills and finished the event.

Headed through the Underground Path to Vermillion. Made it easily and went to Anne. Battled every trainer and went to Rival. Killed Gary in like 8 turns. Then rubbed Captain's back (ewwww) and got cut, then battled the gym. While battling the junior trainers, one of my Mankeys evolved. I forgot they evolved so early! So, I decided to raise the other one. Now they are ship-shape and ready for gym! Here's the battle:

LT.SURGE wants to battle!
LT.SURGE sent out RAICHU!
Go! PRIMEAPE!
PRIMEAPE used BODY SLAM!
Enemy RAICHU used THUNDERBOLT!

PRIMEAPE's paralyzed! It may not attack!
LT.SURGE used X SPEED on Enemy RAICHU!

Enemy RAICHU's SPEED rose!
PRIMEAPE's fully paralyzed!
Enemy RAICHU used THUNDERBOLT!
PRIMEAPE fainted!

Do it! PRIMEAPE!
Enemy RAICHU used MEGA KICK!
Enemy RAICHU's attack missed!
PRIMEAPE dug a hole!
Enemy RAICHU used MEGA PUNCH!
Enemy RAICHU's attack missed!
PRIMEAPE used DIG!
Critical Hit!

It's super effective!
Enemy RAICHU fainted!
PRIMEAPE gained 732 EXP. POINTS!
RTW defeated LT.SURGE!

Ok... Update on my game.

I had no choice but to beat brock with bulbasuar, since Magikarp can't be gotten yet. Avoided as many trainers as i could, went and purchased magikarp, and began training. Magikarp is currently at lvl 13.

Before doing this, I had no idea Nidoqueens were so powerful...

Anyway, since I'm playing Yellow, I got my Pikachu, put the beatdown on my rival's Eevee, and ran off to Route 22 to catch my Nirodan, who I found at level 2. I leveled it to 4 with Pikachu's help, and then killed a bunch of Route 1 weaklings to get it to level 8.

I headed into the Viridian forest, and trained on all the bugs in there to get Nidoran to level 11, at which point I fought all the trainers in the forest, so that I walked out with a level 14 Nidoran.

Once in Pewter City, I went over to Brock's Gym immediately, and, since Nidoran already knew Double Kick, killed everything in one hit, getting Nidoran to evolve into Nidorina at level 16.

Route 3 contained a bunch of youngsters and lasses, who provided nice exp, getting Nidorina to level 20 before heading into Mount Moon.

Mount Moon was incredibly easy, as halfway through I grabbed the moonstone, and evolved Nidorina into Nidoqueen at a mere level 22, allowing it to learn Body Slam one level later. I also picked up TM12 and taught Nidoqueen Water Gun to deal with the common Geodudes. When I walked out, I had a level 24 Nidoqueen.

Misty was a pushover, as I got OHKO's on everything using Body Slam. TM11 replaced TM12, as Bubblebeam is amazing. My Rival was the same way as Misty, only Double Kick was the chosen move, seeing as he has 3 normal-types. After destroying the nugget bridge, I grabbed a Charmander to be my cut slave, and picked up my ticket from Bill.

In Vermillion, I took out the entire ship in one go using my level 35 Nidoqueen. After servicing the old man (why did GameFreak put that in, anyway?) my slave cut down Surge's tree, and then Nidoqueen beat him up for good measure. Thunderbolt replaced Poison Sting, and I headed off to grab flash, which I taught to my Pikachu, who was happy to be taken out of the box.

Rock Tunnel was more annoying than anything else, since the only moves that had any pp left at the end were Bubblebeam and Double Kick. After wiping the floor with my Rival again, I fought the sad lot of lasses, supernerds and gamblers that make up Route 8, I headed into Celadon City, where I am presently.

Log:

Well after healing up from the exciting gym battle, I headed towards Vermilion City, to attend the SS Annie party, which I was so graciously invited to. I quickly beat the few trainers that stood silently waiting for people to stalk…, I mean battle, yeah battle.

I then arrived at the Electrical City of the Kanto Region, Vermilion City and after a quick visit to Nurse Joy, I headed to the port. I then boarded the SS Annie and because of my high leveled Growlithe, I quickly and easily beat every one of the trainers on board that ship. As I headed to get the Cut HM from the captain, my rival challenged me to a battle (somehow he got a ticket to attend this party too).

The battle it self wasn't too hard, but due to the fact that I forgot to heal during the battles on the ship, Growlithe barely survived. After my rival left me, I headed to the Captain's room and after rubbing his back, got the HM for Cut. On my way out I accidentally found a trainer I didn't beat, and lost to him.

Somehow I found myself at the Poke Center, and without questioning it, I headed west to catch a pokemon to use Cut. I went on a catching spree, knowing that I would need 10 pokemon in order to get the Flash Hm from Professor Oak's Aid later on. I caught a Sperow (who I traded for Farfech'd), an Oddish, and a Drowzee.

I then taught Oddish cut and beat every gym trainer in the Gym with ease. Their gym leader wasn't any different; as I managed to Ko all of his electric type pokemon with Ifit's (Growlithe) Dig. Even the extremely fast Raichu stood no chance against Growlithe.

With my new badge firmly in my hands, I decided to get Flash from the Aid, and get to Rock Tunnel, so I could get to the next town easily. With my mind made up, I headed through the treacherous Diglett's cave in order to get the Flash HM from the Aid.

After I got the Hm (which required me to catch a few more pokemon), I headed back to Vermillion city, and quickly and easily back tracked to Celadon City. Without even stopping to buy some supplies for the cave, I cut down the small tree impedaing my path and headed to Rock Cave.

The trek through the infamous Rock Cave wasn't too bad, every time I faced a Hiker, I alternated between using Ember and using Dig, and for everyone else I used Bite and rarely Take Down. Thanks to Flash (My Flash Hm Slave), I managed to get through the cave with minimal time and energy wasted.

I then healed Growlithe and headed west from their, I quickly Koed every trainer's pokemon in preparations for my next gym battle, even though I knew that it was going to be the easiest one yet.

When I arrived at Celadon city the first thing I did, other than heal Growlithe, was to buy a fire stone, because I knew that once Growlithe learnt Flamethrower it would be the best time to evolve it.

Celadon City's gym leader was easy; all I had to do was to use Ember on her first two pokemon and Dig on the last one.

After my crushing victory I headed to the Game Corner and after accidentally (not really) finding out Team Rocket's base, I ran them out of town. You would think that Giovanni would give me a challenge (since my Growlithe is weak against his ground moves) but Growlithe easily dispatched all of his ground pokemon with dig and the rest with a combination of Bite and Ember.

Saffron City

Continued through Silph Co. and utterly destroyed every Rocket in their, even my rival didn't require any extra attention. Giovanni was even easier than my rival, just spammed Earthquake and Bubblebeam all over him. I left Silph Co. with my level 62 Nidoking and challenged the Gym. All of the trainers in the gym were quite easy, they all went down with either one Body Slam, or one Thunderbolt. Sabrina's were just as easy, though I swapped Thunderbolt with Earthquake for a couple. and finally I left that gym with a MARSHBADGE and my Nidoking at level 63.

Pallet Town--> Cinnabar Island

I chose the Cinnabar route because I didn't fell like going through the Seafoam Islands... Battled the trainers on the route, and took them all out with Thunderbolt. And finally entered Cinnabar with my Nidoking level 64.

Cinnabar Island

After healing up I headed into Blaine's Great Dilapidated Mansion, and successfully battled my way through to the Secret Key, then Escape Rope'd out. I then entered the gym with my Nidoking at level 63. The battles there aren't even worth mentionin...
Fire Gym+spamming Bubblebeam= VOLCANOBADGE+ level 67 Nidoking...

Viridian City

After flying to Viridian I went straight into the gym, and beat all of the trainers there with either Bubblebeam or Earthquake. Giovanni's Pokemon took only one Bubblebeam/Earthquake each to destroy, and I successfully won the EARTHBADGE, and my Nidoking leveled up to level 69...

Victory Road

After destroying my rival I proceeded into the cave and battled all the trainers I came across there, exiting at a respectful level 75. (Also; I hate level 29 Geodudes...)

Elite Four

First I spent all 100 000 of my money on items, and proceeded to challenge the E4...

Lorelei: Thunderbolt.... Need I say more, of course Jynx did require an Earthquake this was incredibly easy. (Nidoking level 76)

Bruno: Bubblebeam........ Same as the last, they all went down easy, except for Hitmonlee.... I hate Counter..... (Nidoking level 76)

Agatha: I basically spammed Earthquake here, because they all shared a weakness with it, easy as could be.... (Nidoking level 77)

Lance: Used Thunderbolt for the most part here, and a Bubblebeam on Aerodactyl, the only Pokemon that took multiple shots was his final Dragonite, which took two Thunderbolts... (Nidoking level 78)

Champion: Easier than Lance, I was able to take him out easily, because all of his Pokemon either had a type weakness to one of my moves, or mine were powerful enough to knock them out. (Nicoking level 79)

Now I'm finally done, and will move onto BREAKINGBENs next challenge!

Log:

Well with my victory of the Team Rocket Boss still fresh in my mind and the Sliph Scope in hand, I headed to Lavender Town in order to rescue Mr Fuji from the top of the Pokemon graveyard tower (since it was obvious that the police were too busy doing something else to help).

As soon as I arrived in town, I headed up the tower and faced the many Channeler who for some reason or the other got possessed by ghost that really ones to fight me (I guess I'm that popular). Well after scaling the tower, and beating the ghost of Cubone's mother, I finally reach the top of the tower only to find out that Mr. Fuji really didn't need rescuing but obviously didn't have a need for his Pokeflute.

I then used that flute to wake up the sleeping Snorlax, and easily beat it. Normally I would try to catch it but I knew that there was always a second chance to catch him and honestly I didn't really care about it. With Snorlax down and out, I easily defeated every trainer from Lavender Town to Fuchsia City, which is actually a lot. As soon as I reached the home of the Poison type Gym leader, I challenged the gym.

Fuchsia Gym wasn't bad considering that my Growlithe knew Dig, and that all of Koga's pokemon where weak to ground type moves. Venomoth took an Ember to his face while the rest of Koga's pokemon fell down to Dig.

After the battle, Growlithe learned Flamethrower and as soon as I could I gave her a Fire stone which promptly caused her to evolve. After Growlithe's amazing victory and evolution, I headed to the Safari Zone where I found the Warden's Teeth (Ewww…), the HM for Surf and caught a good amount of pokemon.

In an unsurprising move I made my way back to Pallet Town and Surfed south from there to end up in Cinnabar Island. I then healed Arcanine and went to the Gym, only to find out that the door was closed.

Knowing that the only place the key to the gym would be, I headed to the old burnt out mansion (why the keys to the gym have to be in a mansion that looks like it could collapse at any moment is beyond me).

I did eventually enter the mansion and find the key, but only after a good amount of pokemon battles with burglars. Trying not to thing about why burglars would try and rob a burnt out house, I entered the gym and in an one sided match earned my Volcano Badge.

With nothing left to do, I headed back to Saffron city, in order to run Team Rocket out of town again. The Team Rocket members and even the Rocket brothers stood no chance as my extremely powered up Arcanine easily defeated their pokemon. My rival eventually appeared but his pokemon really didn't stand a chance against Ifirt. Giovanni once again battled me, but like the last battle he easily fell to a combination of dig, Bite and Flamethrower.

With there leader defeated Team Rocket quickly disappeared allowing me to get a Master Ball from the president and the TM for Mimic from the girl that kept copying me. I promptly tried to deposit it but to my surprise my Item box was full. With nothing else to do, I taught Arcanine Mimic and proceeded to beat the psychic gym in town.

Sabrina wasn't too hard since I had a level advantage and her strongest pokemon don't have any defenses what so ever. I pretty much just used Bite for the whole battle except for when her Alakazam came out, then I used Dig.

After I got my Marshbadge, I headed to Viridian City to get my final badge and receive an invitation to battle the Elite Four. As soon as I made it to the leader I found out that he was in fact Giovanni, and that he was training since his last defeat. Unfortunately his training didn't pay off, as Arcanine just used Dig to Ko all of his pokemon. After his extremely embarrassing defeat, the Team rocket boss gave up his evil life for good, and fled the scene.

Know that there was only four people to beat in order to attain my goal, I decide to quickly finish the dreaded Victory road, so I could face the Elite Four. On my way to the Elite Four Hq I ran in to my rival again. His pokemon didn't really cause me that much trouble, but Gyarados did manage to hit Arcanine with a super effective critical hit which almost Koed out Arcanine in one hit. I did manage to administer the Hyper Potion which allowed Arcanine to keep on fighting.

With my latest victory I headed to Victory Road and after getting lost for about 30 minutes, I arrived at the Pokemon League. I then deposited all my HM Slaves, healed Arcanine and bought a good amount of Hyper Potions and Full Restores. After that I healed Arcanine and headed through the doors that would seal my faith.

Lorelei- Used Dig on all her part water pokemon and Flamethrower her ice ones. Too Easy

Bruno- Used bite on every one of his fighting pokemon except Onix. Onix easily fell to a Dig

Agatha- Used Dig on her Haunter and Gengar (I ran out of pp after that) and used Flamethrower to finish the job.

Lance- A dragon trainer, this wasn't too bad considering the only dragon type move takes of only 40 Hp. Used Mimic to copy Hyper Beam and Bit every pokemon except Gyarados, who took a hype Beam to the face.

Rival- How comes everywhere I go he shows up. Anyways I used bite on most of his pokemon. His Gyarados was a bit of a problem but I mimicked its Hyper Beam and used it against it. He then sent out Arcanine and the Alakazam, who both fell down to Bite. His last pokemon was Venusaur who Ifrit easily beat with Flamethrower.

I smiled as Arcanine and I got out information saved in the hall of fame to be hounored forever.

With nothing left to do I packed up my stuff and headed for Johto with Arcanine in hand. (Yes I traded Arcanine to Crystal where I'm doing my next pokemon challenge)
