Monotype Challenge (Ver. 2.0)

I won't post a full update for this one but I just beat the E4 and I'm on my way to Kanto!

This was taken on my DSI while playing on the DS Lite so sorry for the quality

New396, how's Leafeon? I thought of using it in my last few DPPt playthroughs, but seeing as it only learns Leaf Blade at a VERY PAINFUL Level 78, and that it doesn't have a lot of move coverage (am I right?), I chose not to use it.

Yea Leafeon can be a handful but since it has naughty nature and an attack over 150 right now, Razor Leaf usually gets the job done. It didn't help out much in the E4 though

I'll be taking a break for now and have my first post from Kanto on Sunday.With this challenge getting closer to ending I've been considering starting a new one with either Steel,Ground,or Dragon type.

That has always been the problem - Grass moves suck in E4. ><

I'm thinking of Rock type too.. I can get Rock/Grass Rock/Water Rock/Fire Rock/Flying and blah blah blah everything you can think of. So colorful =P

WooT, Update timez before i head off to bed.

• Reached Olivine after more grinding, god im a grinding freak >.>"
• Walked into town, and i seen Soul walk out of the cities Gym, and he says shes not there, and shes at the lighthouse caring for a sick pokemon.. Hes an a** btw
• *Soul I meant
• After climbing the Lighthouse, stomping out any resistances that came before me
• I find Jasmine, the Leader of Olivine City.
• Shes caring for her sick Ampharos, and asks me to go across the sea to get medince from Cianwood. I accept and i leave, running right to the Ocean
• I crush all the poor swimmers pokemon, no one even felt the presence of my awesome Ghosts >=D
• I reach Cianwood easily
• To streach out my legs, i walk around town and head north and..
• HOLY FU- SUICUNE! )#(#*%( MUST CATCH
• ...Aww he ran away >=(
• Esuine comes up to me out of no where. i blame Esuine for scaring Suicune...
• He suddenly challenges me to a battle to gain Suicune's respect
• After that he leaves in a huff and i head back into town and i find that elusive pharmacy, and i go in
• The guy gives me his most powerful "medicine"...
• Afterwards i see a gym, and it intrigues me.
• I decide to take the challenge and i charge in, to find the leader under a waterfall....
• I hope he doesnt drown (atleast till i beat his pokemon into the ground and take the badge from him >=D)
• I notice a switch to turn off the waterfall, so i head up, beating down the blackbelts without much problem, thank god for immunities.
• I get to the top and i turn off the water, then i run back down and challenge the chubby leader, Chucky!
• The battle starts, Chucky VS. Tobias~!
• --I send out Alptraum against his Primeape.
• ---Primape gets downed in one blast of Thunderbolt
• ----He sends out his Poliwrath, same thing as Primeape...one hit of Thunderbolt.
• Did i just wind a Gym Battle with two attacks?...
• Yup, cause i just got me badge :cer_boogie:
• I walk out of the Gym, alittle disappointed at how easy it was..
• Chucks wife gives me HMfly for beating her husband, such a nice lady.
• alas..i dont have a pokemon with fly D=<
• So i surf all the way back to Olivine, grinding alittle as i go, Voodoo evolves during said grinding.
• Got to Olivine, ran right to the Lighthouse and gave Amphy the medicine, it worked wonders =D
• Jasmine went back to the gym, and i headed there aswell
• I get to Jasmine and we talk alittle, the it gets serious. I challenge her, and she accepts.
• Jasmine VS. Tobias~!
• Jasmine sends out a Magnemite, thus dubbed Magnemite #1. I send out Voodoo
• -Voodoo burns magnemite with Will-O-Wisp, and then tries to take it out with Faint attack, but it had paralyzed me, and Parahax sucks =X
• --Voodoo faints from getting thunderbolted to oblivion
• ---I send out Alptraum, and he takes out Magnemite #1 with a well placed Focus Blast
• ----She sends out her beast of a Steelix, and it gets one shotted with Focus Blast
• -----She sends out Magnemite #2, and I use my trust Focus Blast
• FU---------------!
• Focus Blast missed, and i get thunderbolted, and the paralyzed >.>"
• My next FB hits though and i win :cer_boogie:
• Afterwards, i head back to Violet City, and the route close to it, and i catch a Hoothoot, for Fly hm slavery.
• Oh btw, Baoba called me telling me that the safari zone is open, so i head there, but i pass by the Cliff Cave, and in it i find...
• Misdreavus! i quickly catch it and add it to my team roster =D Nicknamed Mori, from the Latin phrase "Memento Mori" meaning: "remember that you will die".
• I Fly to Mahogany Town, which i had previously visited during a grinding session, and i head north towards the Lake of Rage, no one offers a good challenge
• I find a Red Gyarados, and in my fit of excitement, i knock it out =X
• I surf back to shore and i see a red haired guy with a dragonite =O
• After talking with "Lance" i go to Mahogany town to help him with what he asked, and we find the Rockets base, and then systematically destroy it =D
• After the whole base defeating and what not, i head to the Mahogany Gym and i take down all the Lackies with ease, Thunderbolt Alptraum ftw =D
• I find Pryce at the back and challenge him, he accepts >=D
• Pryce VS. Tobias~!
• -Pryce sends out Seel, i try a focus blast for the hell of it, and that was a stupid move.. damn thing missed =X
• -it gets off a hail, and then i thunderbolt it to death =X
• -He sends out Piloswine, and i figure i should set up on him, so i send out Skelenoir, who hasnt received alot of action since grinding...
• -I try Will-O-Wisp..and it misses!!!!!!!!!!oneone $()^$*I^ FU----
• -He gets off a Blizzard, but Skelenoir is a tank =D
• -I try Will-O-Wisp again... AND IT MISSES AGAIN!
• Oh come on can i be any more unlucky?
• -I finally say screw it, after being blasted by another Blizzard, i use Disable, to get rid of it. AND IT FAILS?!
• Skelenoir gets taken out by an Ice Fang after that =X
• utter waste sending Skelenoir out..
• -Sends out Gengar, and i FB him again, actually hitting him, and i one shot him.
• -Thunderbolts kill Dewgong too ya know =D
• WooT, i gotz the badge, im on a roll =)
• I walk outside, feeling triumphant, and then i get a call from Elm, saying something about Goldenrod radio tower, i guess thats where im going next....

I think it's not too hard to get Heart Scales by rocksmashing, but I have only gotten one or two. I remember game speed slowing down to 10% when I play Pokethalon so don't. (I'm on no$ too.)

And why does your team have a plethora of Dream Eaters without Hypnosis o.o hahaha.

Hey, I was wondering something. If I wanted to use only one Pokemon, say a Tauros, could I still apply for a Normal Monotype Challenge? Because I was planning on doing so after this one, so I was wondering if it counted.

I mean, you ARE only using one type, right? xD

I have a strategy for Red... Shedinja will be the first pokemon,I'll use the Sunny Day. Afterwards I'll swap for Haunter/Dusclops/Banette depending on Pokemon (Charizard/Snorlax) Eliminate those two and just win easily. That's why I'll leave Shedinja on level 30. 40 PP False Swipe,15 PP Shadow Claw... No evasion-upping moves,and I still have Mind Reader. Now I just need strong Haunter and strong Banette/Dusclops.
Btw Surge loves his Electrode. Wasted three Restores on it :P

Not really. I did my ice challenge with four. I used only two for most of Johto..haha

How often do these challenges happen or how long do they usually last? (sorry if this question isn't supposed to go in the thread, still getting used to the site :nervous:)

Beat Pryce easily. Scizor killed hid Seel and Dewgong, and Empoleon killed his Piloswine.

I am also in the radio tower. And my sexy Lairon evolved into an even sexier Aggron! Boy, don't I feel powerful with that beastie following me. =p

Steel ftw. After so many pokemon playthroughs, I realised that Steel is my favourite type.. :D The plethora of resistances, especially Psychic, makes it tank very well. I played Fire Red these few days and my underleveled Steelix managed to take out Agatha (2ndround) on its own. :D Gengar Psychic doing 40 damage is pure awesome.

Doooh... I really want to!..... I'm actually going to start a solo challenge on Pt though for now I suppose... I've never done these challenges before, but I think I might be starting with a harder one first... I really wanted to do the monotype with Dark when I get around to it :)
