Monster house triumphs, and fails

Without Blizzard or Lava Plume I'd have torn out my hair in frustration millions of times.

Sadly Monster Houses are still a particularly big problem for me...I do not sport an AoE attack on any pokemon I really use. Although I can always include Discharge on "myself" rather than relying on Charge or Thunder Wave

I'm trying to beat Darkrai and on the first floor I was hit with a Monster house D: I lost

They're so intimadating as well, especially when it happens in the tougher dungeons. There's no other pokemon game that will have 4 Dragonites, 5 Garchomps and 4 Tyranitars all in the same place xD
As previous people have said a good area attack is always good. I always shove my partner pokemon Pikachu in with Discharge when I come across one. Does the job nicely! :D

just today i was at happy outlook and miltank accidentally stepped on a warp trap. sadly, she warped right into a monster house. dead center too. i tried my best feeding her oran berries and quick seeds, but sadly she didn't make it.

Personally, I love them! After giving up on my previous game (I hadn't played in a couple of months, so I restarted) I'm on the chapter "Grovyle the Thief", and I always be sure to take at least two Reviver Seeds and two Petrify Orbs (or similar) into any dungeon. It just makes things so easy!

That's why I always go for outlaws with henchmen. Lotsa monster house goodness, and tons of Exp as a reward! I know when I get further into the game, I'll hate them, which is why I'm level-grinding now, just to get to 25 before I start up the story again.

I like using Foe-Fear Orbs. They all bunch up in the corner away from you, and you can just step back into the corridor you came from and then munch them one at a time as they come through. If you get tired, switch with your partner and heal while they whup some monsters.

Unless they're full-floor MHs like in Silver Trench. In that case, WATCH THE HELL OUT FOR AURORA BEAMS. They've killed me times more than I'd like to share. I like to collect Pure Seeds for this reason.

Yeah, I'm collecting Pure Seeds for Temporal Tower. Can't go wrong with 'em!

As for the Monster Houses, I have a certain tactic.

First off, I get overlevelled. I do tons of extra missions, set myself a target of what level to reach before I do the next story mission, and just grind like crazy.
Then, I make sure to have the following in my bag for each dungeon (not the ones with bosses in the end, mind. I have extra for those): At least 4 Reviver Seeds, at least 2 Petrify/Foe-hold Orbs, At least 4 Oran Berries, at least 2 Max Elixirs.
Then it's just a case of getting into the Monster House, petrifying them all and taking them out one by one.

SUCCESS! And a whole bunch of Gummies and experience as a reward!
Never fails! Never fails!*

(*cannot guarentee that this will not fail)

'it's a monster house.

riolu stepped on a warp trap'
