4th Gen Morty and his Gengar!!

What should I do? What strategies do you reccomend? His Gengar keeps sweeping my team with it's Hypnosis and Shadow Ball attacks. Here's my team:

Quilava Lv.26
Flame Wheel, Cut, Smokescreen, Quick Attack

Slowpoke Lv.25
Confusion, Yawn, Surf, Headbutt

Onix (Rocky) Lv.22
Screech, Rock Smash, Rock Tomb, Rock Throw

Grind more. You really can't get anything that'll resist shadow ball at the moment.

Grinding in this game sucks. There are no trainers to battle, and the Pokemon give up some weak EXP.

Maybe try leveling up a Raticate until it learns Crunch?

I hear Hoothoot is good for that too because shadow ball will not affect it. Other than that, grinding always sucks...especially in this game but it has to be done sometimes.

Alternatively, just get any normal type which would be immune to it. Even if it's weak, at the worst you cen use it as a sacrifice or staller for a few turns against Shadow Ball while you heal your other Pokemon or so forth, and that little bit may help a lot. Besides that or training another Pokemon suited for the job (as suggested before), as said try training more first (for instance there's trainers west of Ecruteak all the way to Olivine and in the lighthouse as well you could try to take on to train more first, or simply just use wild Pokemon). Also you can call people during certain times of the day for rematches as often as you like (search around for that if you want to use that method).
