you know my "moves pokemon can learn, but shouldn't" thread? well, this is the opposite.
why can't giratina learn fire blast? it can't learn flamethrower either. it's a dragon. and it's even based on the devil.

Kyurem should really learn more physical Ice-type moves.

Ice Shard, Avalanche, Ice Fang, Icicle Spear, Icicle Crash!

And considering it's size, you'd expect it would at least learn Earthquake?

Nope! And this series has the nerve to show me that a giant dragon that can learn Fly cannot create tremors on the ground in some way, yet a fat little egg can do so no bother?

Game balance is a lame excuse if Legendaries like Landorus-T, Primal Groudon, and the Tapus are still a pain to deal with.

It's such an oversight that Absol can't learn earthquake. It lives in the mountains and is associated with natural disasters. It gets all of these elemental moves to represent its relationship with nature, but most of them are special attacks like blizzard or weather moves like sandstorm that nobody would want on an absol. The coverage move that would actually be great for him is the one that he can't learn.

Here is an endorsement for earthquake.

"Every time Absol appears before people, it is followed by a disaster such as an earthquake or a tidal wave. As a result, it came to be known as the disaster Pokémon." -Omega Ruby

    Earthquake for Absol 2018!

Shedninja would be far better if it knew recover/iron defence.

Magikarp should be able to use Surf, since all it ever does is swim.

Hawlucha should be able to use Cross Chop, since it is a Fighting type and can use Karate Chop and Dual Chop.

Disagree on the first. That's Magikarp's shtick, that it's all but worthless. Having Surf would diminish that.

The one that really ticked my off the most was Gyarados not being able to learn fly. I mean it's a flying type that lingers in the air the whole time for crying out loud. Even frickin Pidgey can fly!

Or Golbat... Any of that line until Crobat. Like you said, if PIDGEY can learn it, literally anything else with wings should be able to.

Speaking of the Pidgey line, have they learnt Peck yet?

Lol. No. Despite it having the big pecks hidden ability.

Another one is snorlax not being able to learn slack off. Not even by breeding.

True dat. Let's put an end to discrimination! I will donate to the Absol Equality foundation in the name of my female absol named Shadow. She deserves to learn earthquake too :)

Darmanitan getting Thunder Punch. It would get the boost from Sheer Force and leave little need for Rock Slide except for Dragon/Flying-types basically. And it looks like one that could learn the move. But nope.

For some reason, to me, Stakataka looks like the kind of Pok?mon that could learn Recover, even if it doesn't.
