Okay, based on the Pokemon Movies, I think I have figured out how long it will be before generation 5 will be revealed (if there will be a 5th generation).
Movies 1-2 took place during the 1st generation. Movies 3-5 took place during the 2nd generation. Movies 6-9 took place in the 3rd generation. Movies 10-11 take place in the 4th generation.
Not including movies 10-11, there is a pattern. 2, 3, 4; see it? Generation 1 had 2 movies, gen. 2 had 3, gen. 3 had 4... Each generation's movies go up by 1. This could mean that Generation 4 will have a total of 5 movies. Two of them have been revealed so far, only one has shown in English. It's one movie per year, so the 4th generation could very well go on for 3 more years in Japan, & 4 more years outside of Japan.
Most of the Legendary Pokemon have been covered in Pokemon movies... not many remain, but those will most likely be used in movies after the one about Giratina & Shaymin. Here's a list of legendary Pokemon and movies they have been featured in:
Articuno (2), Zapdos (2), Moltres (2), Mewtwo (1 & Mewtwo Returns), Mew (1 & 8), Entei (3), Suicune (4), Raikou (Chronicles: Descendant of Thunder), Lugia (2), Ho-oh (8, a small part), Celebi (4), Regirock (8), Regice (8), Registeel (8), Groudon (6), Kyogre (9, a small part), Latios (5), Latias (5), Rayquaza (7), Jirachi (6), Deoxys (7), Manaphy (9), Dialga (10 & 11), Palkia (10 & 11), Darkrai (10), Regigigas (11), Giratina (11), Shaymin (11)...
So, let's guess what the 4th generation movies could be... We already know about The Rise of Darkrai, and several may know about Giratina & the Bouquet of the Icy Sky, Shaymin... That leaves 3 movies for the 4th generation, and 7 un-used legendaries: Uxie, Azelf, Mesprit, Heatran, Cresselia, Phione, & Arceus.
1. The Rise of Darkrai
2. Giratina & the Bouquet of the Icy Sky
3. The Treasure of Stark Mountain, Heatran- featuring Heatran
4. Cresselia & the Lake of Dreams- featuring Cresselia & Phione
5. The Origin of Arceus- featuring Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie, Arceus, & may reveal some gen. 5 Pokemon.
Of course, the titles in italics are guesses made by me...
