Mt. Battle Question.

    Well... I have Pokemon XD and have yet to beat Mt. battle. I just really want that ribbon and Johto starter. But, I'm on the last area, and am just curious if it's okay if I changed my party throughout Mt. Battle, because I did. I heard that if you do that... you don't get the prizes. I don't want to beat the last guy and get NOTHING!
     
    I think this is true, Unfortunately.

    I myself completed Mt.Battle and got nothing.

    I added a Metagross and Jirachi to my team from my LG, and got them to like level 90 through it :P. But got nothing, Very annoying.

    Then my memory card got corrupt and i lost all my high level pokes -.-
     
    I think its true. I think you can't switch your pokemon during mt. battle, but maybe something else happen and you forgot to do something during your quests before maybe... idk
     
    That stinks.. :( All that time was wasted... for NOTHING! Blazeavile, that sucks. If I lost my high level pokes... I would go mad.
     
    Yeah you can't change Pokemon, you have to win with the same team that you started with. Sorry :(
     
    Isn't it the first six you get? Or the first six you battle the first person in m.t battle with? Can't really remember.

    ...First six? You mean, first six Pokemon that you get in the game? I'm confused...

    But whatever it is you are asking - no, it's not. :/ One can use Pokemon from other games to get the Ribbons and Johto starter. There are only two restrictions - you cannot change your Pokemon in your party - that means no using the PC - and you cannot leave Mt Battle in-between the challenge (you can save and turn off, but not actually leave Mt battle and go elsewhere in-between the challenge).
     
    IIRC, you also have to use your Colosseum character (Wes) to get the Johto starter - you can't use your GBA persona. To use your GBA team, you'll need to trade them to your Colo file before tackling Mt. Battle.
