Music Chit-Chat

Uh...Lifehouse. they're "normal." Nothing shocking/"my parents would hate this!" about it. That's "normal." Normal, IMO, is acceptable by the masses. doesn't mean it's always right, but that's the definition.

As for Limp Bizkit, I still see them coming out with new CD's at Sam Goody. Never see anyone buy them though. Heh.

Classical can have lyrics, Lust. Trans-Siberian Orchestra incorporate the great classical tunes with lyrics. It's beautiful music. Classic Rock is precisely that. I've never heard someone say Classical and mean classic rock.:P

Well, one can classify Lifehouse as alternative or adult alternative to an extent. Just remember that there's no actual "normal" music as music is extraordinary in every forms. If music is "normal", then it's boring. =D

Classical as opposed to classic. o_o

I actually like Lifehouse, kind of. I haven't heard much of their stuff though~

No offense, but I'll classify my music however I like.;)

Jedi--they're great for just easy listening. A lot of people say they're a Christian band, but I've yet to pick that up in any of their lyrics, save for one.

Lifehouse is pretty awesome. Their song "Me and You" is great to listen to when you're in love or when you're not. xD

Yeah same here, I haven't heard enough to really get into them. I have only heard 'You and Me' and another song I can't remember the name. 'You and Me" is really catchy though. ^^ I sang it for like a month when it came out.

*blinks* Holy monkeys mate, I think you've found a band I don't know. o_o Who the heck are Lifehouse?

does "Hanging By A Moment" or "You and Me" sound familiar to you? I've heard "You and Me" like a million times and "Hanging By A Moment" a billion times.

I don't know "Hanging By A Moment", but "You And Me" was good while it lasted. Jason Wade from Lifehouse also contributed a song to the original Shrek soundtrack that I thought was pretty cool, too. "You Belong To Me".

They may be too poppy for you to have heard them, Eli. I have to listen to pop radio in the car because my family pretty much hates my music and they all love pop. 'Cept for Dad. He's a 70's and 80's rocker. XD

"Hanging by a Moment"! That is it...it was on the tip of my tounge. XD Thanks.
No problem! =D

That one's pretty catchy, too...

And speaking of which, I've seen the air raving with some James Blunt lately. >>

Eli, Lifehouse are very mainstream, but they're soft-rockers which is why you may not have been listening to them. I don't care if stuff is "Christian rock" or not; while I'm not religious, I listen to music for the music, and if it happens to have a religious undertext then so be it. I'm quite happy to listen to Creed and Alter Bridge, and there's a lot of Christian punk and pop-punk groups - Good Charlotte being an obvious one, and also MxPx.

ALTER BRIDGE! <3 I love those guys...I have their debut album. What would you say is your favorite from that album, JA? o.o I gotta say Shed My Skin and In Loving Memory are my favs. Shed My Skin is apparently gonna be a single this year. o_O;

I haven't actually gotten around to buying their album yet. ;_; There's just so many I have to buy (as I buy ALL my music now, I stopped downloading a couple of years ago) and I don't have that much money. :(

They seem to have disappeared from Australia after "Open Your Eyes", which I loved.

Alter Bridge > Creed, IMO. They're the same with a different singer, but I like Alter Bridge's better.

There's like no comparison between Alter Bridge and Creed. Creed didn't have two things that Alter Bridge does. A second guitarist, allowing for solos, and a tenor singer, which Myles Kennedy is. Scott Stapp could sing and all, he just doesn't have the same feel that that Myles does. AND Myles is a pretty accomplished guitarist himself. With him covering the rhythm section, you've got room for the solos from Mark Tremonti...like the one in "Open Your Eyes". But yeah. If you get the chance, get it for sure. It's not one of those '1 song is good' albums...the whole thing is pretty solid all the way through.

My mom says Lifehouse keeps playing this song on the radio that sounds like Green Day...o_o
