Hey, I'm thinking about getting some music creation software for my PC, but I don't know what to get, I was thinking Fruityloops Studio, but it's too expensive, is there any free/cheap proffesional Music software I can get anywhere?

Audacity is free (both libre and gratis). Google is your friend for learning how to use it.

Audacity is great for recording music on your computer, but if you really want to create music on your PC I'd say try out ACID XPress. It seems like the best you can get for free. (Audacity is still a great download that will help you record and publish your music without going through ACIDplanet .com)

Thanks for the help, I might just try ACID out. (I need permission first)

I would not classify Audacity as a Music Creator as you want, I'd classify it more of a Music Editor.

What you want is a Music Creator? The closest thing possible is having a MIDI software.

There should be a couple open-source out there, but I recommend using Guitar Pro. If you can't afford it (It's about 50$) then I think some dude in YouTube had a crack, but watch out as that could get you a SWAT team invading your house :P.

My personal preference for music creation software is Ableton Live, I suggest you check it out. It's not free, but it's pretty much the best in my opinion.

    Hello Everyone,
I have some information about music creation software. I am listing below and some of them I am using But all of them..
Emedia Ebook guitar, MTV Music gerenrator, Calk walk music creator...

    These are the best one.

My top recommendations are Rosegarden (Linux only), Ardour (Linux/Mac OS X/FreeBSD) and LMMS (Linux/Windows). If you are comfortable with Linux I would suggest using it for music creation since it has the best range of free sequencing software.

If you don't want to go through the pain of a dual-boot and repartitioning, VirtualBox may be your friend. I haven't heard of these programs before, but after researching them a little, they do appear to be of pretty high quality. OFC, the decision is yours; like he said, LMMS has a Windows version, and somebody mentioned another Windows program that can be used, as well.

I'm a music producer myself and have been for some time now.
If you'd like to take my advice, here's what I suggest.

If you are a beginner when it comes to production, then choose something less complex. Sony Acid Pro 6 would be a good start. Slowly slowly get the hang of that and move onto programs such as Ableton Live, Reason, Logic, Cubase, etc. Logic is the best program out there for MAC users, as Ableton or Pro Tools would arguably be the best for PC users.

If you would like an in depth analysis of certain programs, private message me and I'll help you out.

He asked for free tools. I don't know about most of the ones you mentioned, but I know Acid Pro has a very big price tag (I was almost considering buying it until I saw its price; I probably wouldn't have anyway, though, simply because it's Sony).

It is most unmanly of you to ignore the OP's request for free programs. If FruityLoops is too expensive for the OP, then those you listed, which easily stretch into the hundreds and thousands, are certainly out of the question. A true Manly Man acknowledges the terms requested by those less fortunate.

well besides the fact that getting those high end programs like Logic or ACIDpro via torrent usually requires cracks, warez, and is usually accompanied by viruses and Trojans. This is all besides the fact that suggesting, discussing, and linking to Warez of any type is prohibited anywhere here at PC.

I'll stick with my suggestion for the OP to use ACID Xpress and audacity, but I'll also concede that using LMMS is also a good alternative.

Are you kidding me? "Unmanly" of me? I think you'll find that you don't know much about the programs and where they can be found without having to purchase them. I don't expect an apology from you for questioning my "manhood", but there was definately no need to say something like that AT ALL buddy.

A Manly Man neither pirates software nor condones piracy.

I think it's best I give Gerri Shins recommendation of ACID Xpress ago first.

Also, I've had Audacity for a while now.

FruityLoops is also very good for creating beats for like Techno / Trance music.
