Music Recommendations?

    I've been wondering if anyone can recommend any good J-Rock or J-Pop bands/singers to me?

    I like bands such as Dir En Grey, High and Mighty Color and singers like Gackt and Utada Hikaru (Only I feel ashamed to say I've only heard her Kingdom Hearts work).

    So yeah, I'm very easy to please, and yes I do like screamo music too for those who may think about that.

    There are plenty to choose from. Let's see, for starters here are some pretty well known groups/artists.

    And I'm going to plug one of my favorites

    After listening to them, I like ALL of them =D

    I had already heard one Yui song before (Through Bleach) but that song was good too. I'd also planned on checking out L'arc-en-ciel eventually too.

    BoA...what does that stand for? Koda Kumi sound familiar...I'm not sure actually XD;

    EDIT: Scratch the last part, she did 2 songs for FFX-2 and apparently voiced one of the characters, that's how I know her XD
     
    BoA stands for Beat of Angel, however, she's actually Korean - South Korean to be exact - as are the majority of her songs. But, she does have various Japanese songs, just so you know. If you want to find more out about her, here's her Wikipedia page.

    There are also the likes of DBSK, who are also Korean, but have various albums in Japanese. I'd recommend them. ;] Some people don't like them, some people do.. so hopefully you will like them. :] I'm more into K-Pop and K-Rock, and I know that you said you were looking for Japanese music (be it J-Rock or J-Pop.) But, you may also quite like The TRAX, which are a Korean Rock group/band. I'd recommend listening to their first album, First Rain.

    Oh, and while I'm thinking properly still; there's also Miyavi, who's Japanese.

    I apologise for not linking to any of their songs, but there is various things about them in the Wikipedia pages I have linked. However, if there are any other Korean or Japanese groups that may interest you, be sure to give me a shout. :D;
     
    Oooh, UVERworld, they did Bleach's 2nd opening if I remember, I love that song!
     
    I have listened to Koda a few times and she's good (but not as awesome as Utada)
     
    Well considering she's in FFX-2, I have an idea of what she's like and you're right, she isn't as awesome as Utada XD
     
    An Cafe, An Cafe! o_o They're classified as Visual Kei, but they're more of Oshare Kei; their music is usually upbeat and VERY dance-appealing, ALL THE WHILE still being Rock xD Some of their darker songs:

    Escapism, one of their older songs but good nonetheless.

    Aroma, newer, slightly unusual for them, but very good.

    Some of their happier songs:

    Wagamama Koushinkyouku --> didn't reference the name, I have it memorized XDDD

    Toukesuta Kousen Another old song, but a catchy beat.

    I hope you like them xD I am always trying to corrupt more people into loving An Cafe. BTW the long blond haired band member is a Boy ;D
