    Let me explain something, from one Pokemon fanatic to a casual Pokemon fan who doesn't know why (but I'm assuming 80% percent of the people here know why, so just skip this paragraph if you know why). Right before Battle Frontier, Pokemon Season 9, 4Kids lost the rights to Pokemon and the dub rights were sent to a company called Pokemon of USA, PUSA for short. All of the actors that were not played by their original Japanese voices (Pikachu and Skitty for example) were replaced with new actors. Veronica Taylor is an actor who works for 4Kids and has played Ash in every episode dubbed from Pokemon, I Choose You to the final episode of Advanced Battle (with Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon being an exception).

    I don't know about you but I've always been fond of Veronica, she needs to leave 4Kids (frankly, so does Dan Green). Sarah Natochenny, Ash's current voice actor does not do a very good job of voicing Ash. I need to make a reference to someone who sounds at lot like she does now. Jason Griffith. Let's check off some similarities, shall we?

    - Unnaturally Enthusiastic
    - Might do a good job now (Season 9, Last few episodes of Sonic X) and might suck not too far down the road (Season 10, Sonic 06)
    -Constant Pitch changing

    That's just a few, here are my complaints that I have with Sarah

    - Choppy
    - Show's anger instead of sadness at inappropriate times
    - Sounds way too fake

    A few more reasons why I dislike Sarah. She didn't do a good job in Bullet Witch and she doesn't do a good job in Pokemon.

    Still here? Well, I do have to get a huge plot hole off my chest.

    I'd like to bring you back to an episode call Buizel Your Way Out of This One. When Team Rocket captured Buizel, no one there had caught Buizel, Team Rocket had as much grounds to take Buizel as Dawn, Ash or Zoey. I understand that they're crooks but you don't hate them like that. If it wasn't for Team Rocket, Earth would be flooded as soon as Lugia went down. Then again I would hate anyone who made my best buddy turn on me, I'd hate them yet Ash helps them. There's a line between being helpful and being flat out stupid.
     
    You're about 3 years too late. Sarah Natochenny is the younger generation's only Ash, since she's been voicing him before DP. I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with them now, except some of the dub Pokemon voices which have always been bad. They've improved a lot since season 9, it's quite noticeable. Funny random rant at the end...

    Indeed, 4Kids/PUSA VA changes has been discussed over and over. I see little point to bring this discussion back again.

    Somehow I get the feeling this thread will become a duplicate of the "Sick of Ash"-thread...
     
    It's been 3 years and people still complain about his voice.

    I personally like Natochenny's voice more than Taylor's. I think Sarah started out off at the beginning of the Battle Frontier.

    I have 2 big complaints against Taylor's Satoshi as well:

    - She can't cry using Satoshi's voice that well. It is painful everytime I go back and hear him cry.

    - Also, his girly voice. Some people may disagree but she sounded very similar to her Haruka and her April.

    This may be due to my liking of the PUSA cast.
     
    i did bother me that his voice changed but i do not mind the new voice i kinda like it he dosent sound as much like a girl its like his finaly gone through puberty

    Uh, how exactly is this new? :/

    Anyway, when I first heard Ash's..."new voice", I was taken off guard, but ehh; I just figured the actors decided to make him sound older or something...which worked, right?
     
    Like other people have said, it's been three years already. They shouldn't be called new, they should just be the voice actors.

    Anyway, Sarah Natochenny is just fine IMO. She's gotten so much better... Watching "Wheel of... Frontier!" from back in Battle Frontier and comparing to her in "Chim-charred!", I'd say she's made a huge improvement. I couldn't imagine going back to Taylor. Another voice actor I'd say has improved is Jessie's(Michiele Knotz?). I watched this week's episode again, and while it may not be as noticeable as Ash's change, her voice sounds so much more... I don't know, cooler? XD

    Just accept the fact that they are the voice actors now, and encourage them to do their best. Who doesn't want words of encouragement every once in a while?
     
    Well, I was getting ready to watch the new season called "Battle Fronteir", I was excited (even though I didn't like AG). The show started, and I heard Meowth talk
    ...
    Then James
    ...
    Then Jessie
    ...
    Then Ash
    !!!
    That's when I officially started hating dubbed pokemon, I can't watch it anymore, his words are too drawn out, He sounds fake, His voice is just so...I hate it, that's the only reason I don't watch pokemon anymore...oh, and the new theme songs.
     
    Old Brock sounded like Seto Kaiba. NOT FUN. Brock is not an orphan child billionaire who decided to change an army company into a company about card games.

    Unless I've got the wrong Brock and this one is actually playing card games off screen. Perhaps he has a double life...
     
    Heh can someone help me out here? I'm watching the Battle Frontier arc now. I haven't really noticed a change in anyone's voice (besides Hoenn's Officer Jenny, she sounded absolutely ridiculous). Does anyone know right around which episode the changes occurred?

    When you get to the new opening. The dub is completely confusing about it because the title changes every new season...the Battle Frontier starts in Advanced Battle, but the Battle Frontier dub series starts at "Fear Factor Phoney"

    The last episode I watched was Numero Uno Articuno. So I think I have about 10 more episodes until the new voices. I hope I don't notice haha.
     
    You defiantly will notice, but just remember that they improve with time and hopefully you'll get used to them ^^ I got used to them about 5 episodes in XD
     
    It wasn't just ash's voice I didn't like. it was all of them except maybe Brocks; which was okay even though the older was much better. I especially didn't like Meowths replacement voice. Honestly I wish 4kids would've continued dubbing Pokemon.
