My First "Rate Team" Thread...

Iceman3k wouldn't recommend EQ on 10 base attack bliss...

I'm not crazy about bronzong. You'd have to wait until sims comes along, as he knows more about bronzong than I.

see edit, I see what you meant now. No, this was Gyarados against Blissey...

EQing bliss isn't smart...once it gets hit once, a flyer or levitater comes in and is uneffected, then makes you switch :(:(:(

EDIT: Who keeps blissey in against gyarados???

I do think you mean someone attacking a Blissey with Earthquake.
Personally, that's the last thing anyone would do. They'd pummel Blissey with STAB Attacks before Earthquaking it.

Yes, but in the event that this happens, the Focus Sash is there.

BUT AGAIN! I AM CHANGING BLISSEY now, so no need to really worry anymore. It will be improved.

Put in tangrowth over donphan, cvuz it's hawt, and then put in something actually capable of taking special attacks SNORLAX FTW

If you read the conversation between Iceman and myself, you would realise that:

Gyarados vs Blissey

Blissey switch to Yanmega@ Focus Sash

Gyarados uses Earthquake

Doesn't hit Yanmega or other move = 1 HP

Yanmega Switch to Electivire

Gyarados @ ??? (Hopefully not Earthquake, but may include Focus Sash on Electivire if it comes to that)

Electivire uses Thunderpunch (Now that there is no Intimidate, should KO Gyarados.)

That was the logic.

Blissey switch to Yanmega

Which just proved my point...

Gyarados uses Earthquake

Like it would use EQ...TAUNT. Oh, now you can't protect or put it to sleep. Now you have to switch!

Doesn't hit Yanmega

Yanmega Switch to Electivire

lol earthquake lol...VERY risky switch. Besides, by now, it'll probably have DDed a bit and can outspeed Vire and OHKO it :/

Gyarados @ ??? (Hopefully not Earthquake, but may include Focus Sash on Electivire if it comes to that)

Focus sash vire aint so hot...

Electivire uses Thunderpunch (Now that there is no Intimidate, should KO Gyarados.)

Bulky gyara...and again, it would outspeed you. And the user would know if it couldn't, so if that were the case, they'd switch.

That was the logic.

~M51

That was MY logic. you might wanna rethink yours...

yes, well.....lol.....:)

But this just backs up your previous point of needing Blissey with Higher Defense, so that makes it certain for me to switch Blissey's. :)

~M51

That didn't really make any sense...I mean, with max def, bliss is fine. Without it, lol no. But blissey is /THE/ beast of the metagame. there are very few true counters...it can survive cross chop from vire :0

which is why it makes sense to have a Blissey with full Def. Which is what I am now breeding for. Thankyou. :):):)

~M51

Because my advice is hawt :)

Watch out for dugtrio...ice beam pwns it though.

since you gave milotic wide lens, instead of surf, use hydro pump. more power = more destruction.

Thanks, but I was thinking, because I already have a Physical Wall, then I may swap with a Magmortar, which can then take down Gyarados.

Magmortar@Expert Belt/Focus Sash
Modest Nature
252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 6 Def

HP Ice (70)
Thunderbolt
WoW
Flamethrower

Has 31 IV's Speed/Sp. Atk, and has 2 more base speed over gyarados, so will be faster than all gyarados other than speed increases.

~M51

On Tangrowth why are you running speed evs, its a wall and therefore doesnt need to out speed anything =/

Go either 252 HP / 228 DEF / 28 SP.DEF

or

252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 ATT

EDIT: you really need to get something to cover that huge gaping Bolt-Beam weakness, Blissey has been suggested however if that dies, well you know the rest.

On Milotic you put 140 def, it should be 240 Def, however that might be a typo so ill let you off lol

yes, that was a typo, thanks.

Understood on the speed, I'll change that. (Must have been tired...lol) :)

As for the bolt-beam weakness, the major is Lapras is it not? What other pokemon are bolt beamers that you consider a problem?

Thankyou.

Starmie, Electivire (ice Punch and Thunderbolt/Punch),Calm Mind Raikou, Gengar and Jolteon (Thunderbolt and Hidden Power ice), Porygon-z, etc there are quite a few

The special orientated ones arnt really a problem until Blissey dies. However Electivire is still a problem regardless (with a motor drive boost).

EDIT: Although Tangrowth doesnt really fear Ice Punch from electivire, the rest of your team has a problem with it once it gets that Motor Drive Boost.

Also Dugtrio is a good E.Vire counter, however doesent like switching into anything not named Thunderpunch or Thunderbolt

Well, Blissey would wall the Specials, as you say, and Tangrowth is more than capable of walling Electivire. A Gyarados with Max Attack + 1x DD using Ice Fang only 3HKO's Tangrowth, so a 'Vire with Ice Punch without an attack increase wouldn't be a problem. (Even if I had to switch in Tangrowth)

Dugtrio = Jolteon/Raikou
Electivire = Porygon-z
Yanmega = Starmie (OHKO's Starmie with Bug Buzz)

Gengar poses a problem.... I will need to think about that, thankyou. :)

Yeah i edited about the bolded in my previous post, i forgot how good Tangrowth was.

Anyways Jolteon is faster than Dugtrio, and can carry Hidden power Ice, which is not good for Duggy.

I am running protect on Yanmega with speed boost, and yeah, I forgot how fast jolteon was on Dugtrio...

Dug Base Spd = 120
Jolt Base Spd = 130

Unless the Jolteon is Jolly (Most are modest) and has 31 IV's + max EV's in Speed, hopefully Dugtrio should be able to hit first, it does have bad defense, so perhaps Sucker Punch sacrifice and then switch to Yanmega, protect and attack.

Blissey@Choice Band
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
~Focus Punch
~Earthquake
~Double-Edge
~Iron Tail

The best blissey moveset by far, its still up to you. Good solid team, a 8 out of 10
