I wonder if my pokemon ranch is worth getting as it looks quite cool. Can you tell the ups and downs the rate it out of ten? thanks!

    Hmm.. 7.5/10

It holds a lot of pokemon, and the interaction is fun. Plus, you can trade for some cool Pokemon from Hayley (the Ranch Owner), including Phione and Mew.

There's only 2 downfalls. One is that you can't withdraw pokemon to different games (ex. I can't withdraw a Turtwig deposited by my Diamond Version into my Pearl Version or different Diamond Version). I don't know if Pokemon Box for the GCN was like that, though. Never had it.

The second downfall is that you can only deposit like 10 pokemon to start. Of course you can change the date, and store more, but it's annoying. Of course, you only have to do it once. It's a rather small price to pay.

Overall, I'd say get it. It can really help if your boxes are overflowing.

Buy it. It's cute, it can hold a LOT of Pokemon, and you get Mew for depositing 999 Pokemon. It's a win-win situation. And it's kinda fun trying to go out and catch Hayley's daily "Most Wanted" Pokemon...

If you're an obsessive Pokemans fan who wants a Live Pokedex like me, you don't have much of a choice- you need the extra storage space. The one problem is that it sucks as storage space- Pokemon deposited on one game can ONLY be withdrawn from that game, so Pokemon transfer is impossible- which is a pain in the ass, as there is no way I'm trading over 500+ Pokemon to Pearl manually.

There's also the whole thing about it not really being a game- it's closer to an aquarium, with irritating music. At least the Pokemon look cute.

It's basically a $10 screen saver that is a huge cash in. As mentioned, Pokemon you deposit can only go back to the same cart and the same save file. If you start a new game on that cart, your Pokemon will be stuck on Ranch forever.

Very few people EVER need an extra 1,000 storage spaces. So there's a few circumstances this'll be a wise purchase:

    1. You're a huge Pokemon fan and will purchase almost anything.

    2. You're an obsessive breeder or collector of some sort and need the space.

    3. Easy way to get Mew and Phione.

With just a few minor tweaks, such as wi-fi trading (other players can visit your ranch, that's it), or transfers between different carts, it'd be so much more appealing. There's almost no reason this couldn't have been on PBR, but hey, Nintendo knows they can sucker fans into purchasing it.

Buy it if you fall into one of the 3 categories. Otherwise, hope they come out with something better.
