That post should explain it. Basically, each little box is worth more points now than before. Since a lot of people were starting to get incredibly high rep and the thing stopped at 8 blocks or whatever, we're just extending it so that everyone can see at a glance how much rep they have. ^_^;

You haven't lost any reputation points, if you were wondering. It's the same as it always was.

Same here; not just cause I have one of newly famous gold rep blocks but not everyone is running around with all the blocks cause they asked for rep.

And just to correct you, people give them that rep, so nothing we can do about it really.

Why do people continue to complain so much?There's nothing you can do so just get over it,so what that you have less blocks then before? WHO CARES,just earn them back by making good posts like you did in order to get the blocks you had before

=3 it's the new reputation thingies ^^ I look like such a newbie but man am I glad not to look like the best anymore O_O Made me feel like a total lier when I'm good on only sertan things and not like a gold metalist or somthing. I see nothing wrong with this rep idea and in my case it really shows what people are really like. So many people make such a fuss about it which only proves there here to only gain that rep and feel like the best T_T.


The way I'v learned to go about life is many people will like you and some wont but ether way a rep or a post wont make you any less of a person o.o If I had a whole slew of red reps right now I really wouldint care cause I know in my heart that I'm a kind person and though I may not deserve it some people may think differently and in that case I will ware my Red rep Proudly o.o I feel funny being here for almost a year and I'm only 700 posts XD but thats another subject.

Rep don't make a dam difference. I very much like the way rep is now. :) Mine is lower now, but i don't really care, i think it shows how nice you can be :). Anyway, rep don't matter at all. Thats what i think ^_^

I don't like the new blocks, they are dull and just doesn't look good to me. But as of right now I'm used to them, and Steve said he was going to change the looks of the blocks once everything gets done. So untill then we all have to deal with it.

I like the new system, I have less blocks now then I did before. But to me it's better then the old. For one rep blocks are set higher then before. We would have n00bs going around with maxed out rep because 2 or 3 high rep power members gave that member good rep and it would just shoot up. And that's really not right, someone joining 3 days ago having maxed out rep.

And all of you have to remember it's just rep. Nothing more then just a few blocks you get. So what if you lost a block or two, it shouldn't mean anything. It's not like you lost rep points, it's just blocks, in the end you got the same rep as you had before the change. Rep doesn't make you popular or get you lots of friends or gets you well known around PC or gets you Modded or anything like that. If so then what about all the members before we had rep? How did I make friends when I first joined PC years ago? Rep wasn't around back then (hell the quick reply wasn't around back then) so how did we make friends? To me it's kind of sad if all your friends like you because you have lots of rep (or rep blocks). If that's why all your friends like you then by all means go out begging for rep and bugging every member on PC to give you good rep. But that is really sad if you got to have rep to be popular and you can't make friends on your own. I would hate to say "I'm only popular because I got lots of rep, so I need more", that's like saying I'm only Staff because I got lots of rep.

And no one go off saying "Oh you're a Staff member, sure your going to say that because you get rep all the time" or "You're popular so everyone likes you anyway" or "If rep means nothing then why don't you disable it?". If that had something to do with my rep then why do I know members (not Staff) that gets more rep in 2 weeks then I get in a month? How come members, Mods, S-Mods, Praetors have more rep then me? If that had anything to do about rep then shouldn't I have more then all them? And if I want my rep disabled then I'll disable it, I happen to like some of the comments I get on my posts. I take all good and bad rep I'm given, unlike some that goes off and says "I got bad rep and I want you to delete it". The thing I can't stress more is "Rep is pointless", it has no meaning other then a comment on a post (may it be good or bad).

Well I guess that's enough ranting from me.

I get more rep in a week than you do in a month. My blocks look pretty, yes. I enjoy getting rep too. Hell, I have a gold block. But will I care when (and if) the rep system goes? No. Should I care? No. It's reputation. Nothing more. You know, those pretty little blocks under (or beside) your postcount is reputation. And funny that, it being near your postcount. They both serve the same level of resemblance and importance - none whatsoever.

If this is the era of PC when everybody depends on their reputation to earn respect and make themselves look important, but then push it over the edge and then cry 'Wolf!' when it's taken away, I dread to see PC's future.

All this complaining about the rep is driving me mad. Okay you lost a couple green clocks on a website big whoop, it's not like they're counting down to your death. Sure when they first changed the system I was upset because mine went down but the same day I realized how stupid rep is. Sure when you get rep you feel happy but for how long a couple minutes. You all are leating something so small control your lives. Instead of somplaining watch the News and see what's happened to all the people who are suffering because of Katrina they have a right to complain. Anyway at the end of the day rep doesn't show what kind of person you are only you can do that.
