I'm writing a fanfiction called "Lucario and the 10 Ordeals." I can access it, but two seconds after I do, it causes my internet to lock up. It doesn't respond when I click on it.

I have to click the End Now button a million times in order to get a response. Could someone look into this problem?

By the way, do NOT erase or lock up my thread.

i see no issues at all on that thread.. loads fine for me.. all 20 chapters you've posted so far.

Has to be something on your end..

what browser are you using? what kind of connection do you have? who provides it? etc..

I use Mozilla Firefox as a browser. My computer's slow, that didn't cause the lock-up. My connection's weak, but not broken. This was never a problem before.

how does it lock up? what are the symptoms?

The Internet freezes after about 2-5 seconds. I could wait until my hair turns gray and still not get a response. So, I go to close the internet and click on End Now. I have to do this for about two minutes before it finally closes.

If I keep clicking on anywhere but the three buttons at the top right, the FILE, EDIT, etc. blanks out.

This has only happened on my story so far. I have no problems with the one that we're on.

I'm not good with help on computers, internet connections, etc.
but if there's too much to load on the page and your computer is already slow, it might cause your browser to freeze, making you need to click "end now" and stuff.

...and if that's not the reason why stuff freezes, then I don't know. ]:

Sounds like a Firefox memory leak. What add-ons do you have? Having a ton or specific ones can cause the memory leaks Firefox is known for.

A temporary fix is to delete all your temporary internet files, but that would also remove active logins you have at sites you visit. I personally wouldn't do this if you are on a shared computer.

hmm.. Its either not enough ram for your computer, or your connection is just too limited.. (or maybe both)

I'm not there so I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "The Internet freezes" and go to "close the internet" so its hard to say.

If's a fanfic with huuuge chapters, and there's mutliple chapters on each page, then it's very possible that it's a RAM issue. Back when my computer had less RAM it used to freeze over that type of thing, too. D:

First and foremost Autistic Lucario, you should hunt in your start menu for a Firefox Safe mode. (also known as no addons mode)

Secondly you might want to try running firefox alone.
Close out all other programs, INCLUDING the ones in that have an ICON next to the clock. You close them out by right-clicking on each and click the 'exit' command. You may skip programs like your antivirus and leave it running.

Thanks everyone, it WAS Firefox that caused the hang-ups. I checked my CPU usage and it was all over the place. Half of the memory on my computer was being used by firefox.

I found a solution. I used the regular Internet Explorer and had no problems.

    Thanks everyone!
