Ok. Here's my very first pokemon sprite. I'm very new to using the computer to draw. So, what do you all think...should I give up and wait until I have a scanner to scan in my artwork and touch it up?:embarrass

    Where's the sprite?

    And wrong board.

I can't see the sprite... And this is in the wrong place

Um, I didn't forget the sprite...when I first posted this, it was in there, really! Only it didn't actually show the sprite itself, it showed something you click on and the sprite would appear on a different page. Not a webpage though. I don't know what's going on. This is really wierd! I'll try to edit to see if it works now. OK, it's working now...I can now see the sprite on my first post...I hope you all don't hate it too much. It's really very crude...but somehow cute. :P

Uhh...Well...That's Pretty Good Start In Creating Custom Sprites...Very Nice As First But Remember: Pratice Makes Perfect!

It being your 1st sprite ever, not bad. =D
Just be sure to keep practicing.

you should never give up, (ALTHOUGH IVE GIVEN UP ABOUT 3 OR 4 TIMES) a little advice, draw it slowly, the outline is better drawn square by square (ofcourse you zoom right in for this)

and i it the right size ? it should be 64 by 64, to change the size so its exact, go up to atributes, it should be in image,

but another way around it is drawing the sprite like you did but in grey, then use black to fix it up if you understand what i mean

Um, I'm not quite sure. You mean, like when you draw something on paper, you use faint pencil outlines, then do the final in ink and erase the pencil? Only on the computer use grey to do a rough 'sketch' then finish it in black?

Npt bad at all for a first sprite!
But if you want to make an absoutely perfect sprite, you need a "base" to work on.
You do image search on google until you find the sprite you're looking for. Save it, put into a paint program, and do whatever you want with it (recolour, blend, etc.). Then you save it into your pictures and upload it with something like FileZilla.
    Here's a sprite tutorial.

I can see it perfectly!Good job!
Wrong place though but the mod already moved
Thanks Forest grovyle for moving thread!

Yes, thanks Forest Grovyle. I've been checking out the turtorial as well as a website that has training in sprites. I figured the best way to learn is to do it from scratch. Kind of like swimming...you can't learn by just dipping your toes in the water!

An absolutely perfect sprite is made from scratch
I make my sprites by getting sort of a "base" sprite and then doing what I want with it..so my sprites don't look wiht one long leg, a short one, one hand having three toes and the other having 5, etc...

Not bad, mainly because it's made from scratch and it's your first sprite ever...
