Finally leaving Castelia City after my Gym victory and going into... a desert wasteland. Lots of sand, and lots of weird half-completed buildings. What happened, budget shortfall or something? They claim they "discovered historic artifacts" but I'm not buying that - that is a very dumb reason to quit a construction project halfway through. As I said, my guess would be budget problems. As such, there's only really a few things of note here.
1) The creepy scientist guy called Corless who was stalking me in the sewers challenges me to battle. I don't have a supereffective move so it takes a few turns to defeat his Pokemon, but his don't really do much in retaliation.
2) I encounter her:
See, why couldn't I wear something like that? Her outfit is simply adorable :) I'd look perfect wearing a cute formal dress like that! Are you listening? Mom?
3) Off Route 4 is a place called the Desert Resort which is half-misleading: it's a desert all right, but somehow I don't think luxury guest rooms, gourmet dining, or a full-service spa treatment or sauna await me here.
That's where I encounter this guy who calls himself a "Ranger." Excuse me for a minute.
THIS man is a Ranger. He has a scruffy, manly beard, drives a pickup truck, and delivers roundhouse kicks to the toughest, baddest outlaws throughout the Lone Star State. You sir, are a little man with a dumb looking red outfit swinging a Pokeball attached to a rope. I mean, you didn't even attempt to roundhouse kick me when I approached! Chuck Norris is not pleased with this defamation of the title "Ranger." He will be coming to roundhouse kick you into the stratosphere momentarily. But thanks for the random berry.
About the only notable thing here is my newest recruit... Cassie the Trapinch. She, along with three other members of my team will evolve sometime between here and the next gym.
Finally I get out of the desert to a facility called Join Avenue where I'm made a manager by the owner. Okay, an inroads to management, not bad. (OOC: Future updates might be slow as I "pimp my Join Avenue" which I am limited to the GTS to do. Trying the Magnemite Coil thing.) Next stop is Nimbasa City, where I battle the surprisingly thin-boned "Subway Bosses" paired up with a kid who has a palm tree for hair. Next I beat up a whole bunch of overpaid, underperforming athletes, ride an indoor roller coaster for some reason, before taking part in a fashion show (See I should've dressed up like that nice Lady on Route 4...) before facing the Gym Leader Elesa who is wearing something very, very revealing...

Why in the heck do our names sound so similar?
Ashley takes on her first two Pokemon, as her Limber allows her to attack the suckers without fear of Static or Thunder Wave. She trades a few blows with them but eventually emerges victorious. Then Cassie gets her first major workout against her Zebstrika, and a couple Bulldoze attacks makes quick work of it. I am so glad she evolved just in time, but conversely I'm kinda peeved that Lawrence still doesn't have a good Psychic attack so he could contribute to the battle.
And that's it until the next installment!
My Team:
Vince (Samurott), Lv36
Ashley (Liepard), Lv36
Howard (Ampharos), Lv36
Lawrence (Espeon), Lv36
Cassie (Vibrava), Lv36
