even me?! T_T anyways we have to accept that some people just can't adjust to the rules like we can, all we have to do(hopefully) is let them rant until they realize the tiers are here to stay and for them to suck it up(no offense guys)

Maybe because the standard rules are probably better than rules that most people could think of. Ubers are just cheap. Understand that. If they were allowed in standard battles, then everyone would use them. They are stronger than other things, which makes them cheap. It doesn't make things fun when everyone is using the same 10-20 Pokemon.

I second aircon and one-wing (please let me know if you dont like your names abbreviated). This thread has gotten into a loop of people whining about long-established rules, being corrected and then whining anyway. They're simple rules, they keep things fair. They make sense whether you like them or not. I think this topic of conversation has exhausted itself so i've reported for its closure.

Oh and aircon, why does it always seem to end up with me and you being the voice of reason in this forum?

But I've EV battled many legendaries...they're not that hard to beat lol.
And if you don't want to use legendaries, specify that before the battle, don't make up an entire rulebook about it, that's overkill.
Like I said, think about both sides of a debate before you enter it.

Put it this way, we've been here about a year each
You joined this month
We've had a chance to see how scenarios develope. If you knew what you were talking about you would know how ubers outclass regular pokemon. Since you say the contrary it shows you can EV yourself but probably never faced a team of EVed ubers, since almost everyone on any site who can EV train also adheres to tiers. I dare you to find an established forum that does not use tiers.

I've been playing since the game came out.
I've been on other forums.
I don't think how long I've been on this forum makes a difference.
That's an invalid point.
And yes i have faced an entire team of them.
I used only un-legendary pokemon.
True, I lost.
But it wasn't a blow-out.
My friend won because he out-strategized me.
Not because his pokemon's stats were so much better.
You really are full of yourself =)

hehe, you really are offended because someone else doesnt like football? chill man ;), i love the game too, like most people, but dont get pissed if someone else doesnt like it. by the way, it is called 'football'. we came up with the name in europe, so we can say what it is meant by it :p!

First, there's no such thing as an 'EV Battle'.

Second, the rules are made for skilled battlers. An Uber in the hands of horribly unskilled opponents- even one that's EV trained- can be beaten easily by a good enough opponent. Just because you can beat a ten year old who uses his newly caught Dialga doesn't make them any less powerful.

And before, you were complaining that strategy took the fun out of the game.
Think of it this way: Would you rather battle someone not using legendaries (with you using a team on non-legends) or battle someone with a team full of legends (using a team without legends)? Legends stats are just better than the rest. You can beat them, but most of the time, the legends would win since they could hit harder and take more attacks than most pokemon.

ubers in the hands of an unskilled trainer< a skilled competitive battler
ubers in the hands of an skilled trainer>>>>>>>a skilled competitive battler

^thats the truth and we have to accept it, thats the only reason they're banned, now can we all just get along?

That is all I have to say. I do not appreciate such immature assumptions being made about me based off a single thread where all i have done is post what is logical and true. If you have a problem with me I'll happily discuss the matter over PM, as i am not here to make enemies
 
I think the points have been covered and this could lead to a flame war. Here we go:

There's a difference between Legendary and Uber. They're called Uber for a reason. They're in a different class from other Pokemon. Just because you caught them doesn't mean you can use them in organized play. It's called organized / competitive battling because there are rules set for play. If you don't like those rules, create your own rules and league.
