4th Gen Name Announcement/Discussion thread

Also from Serebii...
Agunomu will be known as Azelf. [Azure+Elf]
Buuburn, Magmar's Evolution, will be known as Magmotar.

I dun like the name Magmotar, but Azelf sounds sooo cute!
Seeing as Azelf is Agunomu's name, do you think the others will be named like that?
Magenelf or Magentelf for Emuritto? [Magenta+Elf]
Goldelf or -insert random crazy name here- for Yukishii? [Gold+Elf]

I wish they'd keep Yukishii. It's such a pretty name. -sob- ​

Lumineon sounds like an evelution. Rotom should have had a better name. Lumineon sounds like it should be Rotoms name. Oh well, not bad.
 
Anyone here know the name origin of Rotom? Is it motor spelled backwards or something?
 
may i ask what the ravia in staravia means?
it sounds cool though
 
It's starling + aviation for Staravia.
 
Learn japanese, buy the japanese games, don't give a *beep* about the english names . . .

I can imagine Magnezone, with Magnatons anime voice, saying it's name, it'd be funny.

Wel Lucarios Japanese name is Rukario, Lucarios Prevos Japanese name is Rioru, more than likely it will be called Lioru, but then again in Japenese Romanization L and R are the same.

I was nearly right on the Riolu thing,mixed up the R and the L. The Eons are exactly as they should be.

No... one of my favourites from this Generation.

I'm so happy togekiss kept it's japanese name it sounds nice. And it was obvious leafia and glacia were leafeon and glacieon.

Vespiquen sounds cooler than Beequeen, but did they REALLY need to change it??? COME ON. BEEQUEEN.

Drifloom is THE cutest name of this generation by far.

Uxie...did they hafta get rid of the "Y"

Lickilicky is...naughty in origin :D

Chingling & Skuntank make the game in America "M" rated for sure. :-P
 
Strange, some legends' names were changed, when they had never done so before, except for Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno.

Uxie = Could be, it sounds the same
Mesprit = I don't get what "mes" means
Azelf = Agnome sounds better for me
Cresseria = The other name was 'Crecelia' so it didn't change much
Shaymin = Ugly name
Arceus = It would have been better if they left it as 'Arseus', or even better, Arzeus.

THe Legendary Trio or Legendary Elves (as I like to call them) (Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit) are the only Legendaries that got a name change which is the first since the Legendary Birds to get a name change. The other Legendaries like Arceus/Aruseus only got their name Americanize like Lucario, Dialga and Palkia were.
 
Well, so much for Vineon...*shrug*.

Altogether they actually look like a good batch of names. I can see most of them, and the rest are good enough for me. Just over a month to go...can't wait ^.^ !
 
Something tells me that Pachirisu isn't the correct name...
