A friend of a friend believes Tobidara = Minato for some reason. PM me for details, I have to ask my friend again.

I think Tobidara is a Zetsu Clone of Madara. Maybe Madara used Izanagi when fighting Hashirama. That would explain why he doesn't have EMS. (he used the eyes he has stockpiled for Konan fight). It would still explain why Madara was Edo'd since Tobidara isn't really him, but a clone.
 
Minato as Akatsuki leader theory has been going on for years even before Pain was introduced.

I could see how he maybe have used Izanagi, but I dunno if he actually used his own eyes to do so. Too me the benefits of EMS out weigh the benefits and draw backs of Izanagi, so I wouldn't interchange the two.

So your saying the Masked Madara is a Zetsu clone with the DNA of Madara? Or something like that.

Look at his expression. Madara has this sort of sad, upset look on his face. But we can infer the person he's referencing is extremely powerful. But who? If Madara was able to claim his birthright and reach the Rinnegan, then who could feasibly be even more powerful than him?

Also, the way Madara and Muu are talking indicates that this isn't the first allied Shinobi army.

As as guessed, the Sharingan is a derivative of the Rinnegan, and therefore a powerful enough sharingan user, who has an EMS, can upgrade to the Rinnegan as the final evolution of the eye. This is why Orochimaru desired a sharingan - he wanted the God-like abilities of the Rinnegan and evidently, Orochimaru figured this out. How much does he know?

And what does this say about other characters? Shodai Hashirama defeated and still presumably killed Madara with THE RINNEGAN. Just how incredibly powerful was he, and the rest of the Hokages?

And Jesus, Madara throws asteroids at people.

But we're not sure if Madara awakened Rinnegan before or after the VotE fight. He did meet Nagato at one point.

Where did it say he fought with Rinnegan? I was thinking he survived the VotE, and awakened Rinnegan sometime afterward. Or awakened it during the fight.
 
I don't see it stated anywhere that he fought Hashirama with Rinnegan. And I really wouldn't underrate Hashirama even if Madara had Rinnegan at the time. Since both were descendents of the Younger and Old Brothers respectively. Hashirama Mokuton seems to be unparalleled compared to it's successors which were inferior i.e. Yamato, Danzo, Zetsu. Maybe Kubuto still has plans for Yamato as some point. I'm just wondering how much conciseness Kabuto is actually retaining, I feel Orochimaru will show up again at some point. And I wonder who this "Him" is. Assuming it's the Masked Madara.

Well there was clan alliances before the foundation of villages so that could have been a precursor to the modern day Allied Forces.

All in all I have got to see Madara is just about as close to perfect in technique as you will get out of a shinobi. They are going to be pretty screwed if they can't find something to defeat him. Either Naruto is going to have to get some power ups again(either the "Strength" of the Younger Brother, maybe just maybe develop some secret Kekkei Genkai drawing it's roots back to his distant ancestors, or like I have said before awaken his own Rinnegan since his Tailed Beast Mode kind of draws comparisons to the silhouette of the Sage of Six paths.) Either that or Itachi is going to have to intercede at some point.

Yeah, but it could also mean he barely survived VotE and got it sometime between that and finding Nagato. I'm just confused as to if he fought First Hokage with the Rinnegan or just with Kyuubi, awakening it during or after.

I doubt Naruto will. He's descended (did I spell that right?) from the younger of the brothers. So, he's the body/chakra of Rikudo.

Sasuke is more likely to get Rinnegan, since he's descended from the elder brother, so he gets the eyes of Rikudo.

No where is it stated Sasuke is Madara's grandson or anything, though it is possible. Unless Madara is his direct ancestor, Sasuke can't inherit anything from Madara.
