The good thing was though, they pronouced all the names right (which really surprised the hell outtame o___O) and they kept the sexy no justu. The other good thing was that the only edit was one that I had expected for a while now..
 
You're kidding right? The VAs voice from the first 30 episodes before whatever happened to her voice happened sounds almost the same as the English one.

And they got two names wrong actually, Konohamaru and Gennin.
 
Uh-uh. No I am not kidding. How long have you actually been watching Naruto for? >.O The dub sounds nothing like him. Also they did actually pronounce Konohamaru right. Genin was pronouced wrong but thats not a person's name XD (didn't refer to which I meant before lol)

Also you gotta be kidding cause you must have not been watching Naruto for long X3 I gots proof!! *collects proof* lmao
 
wow it was really edited and I hated narutos dubbed voice...the songs were great and it was cool,even though it was on toonami

I knew about Naruto three years before it came to America, in manga form at least, I've known about it for a long time and I've seen almost all of the anime minus the movies. But I hear the same sounding voices in them.

Konohamaru's name was said too slow, it makes it sound like his name was "Kono Hamaru" and not "Konohamru".

And as for the edits...a lot of stuff was kept, this was pretty good for what they had to work off of.
 
Yeah well your not the only one who knew about Naruto XP a few years now.. Started in Shonen Jump, then I bought the graphic novels and now i'm downloading the episodes and I already watched the first movie and the short that came before it ;O

I didn't notice Konohamaru being mispronounced. It sounded just fine to me. I think they said Naruto to slowly though..(like the part when Iruka is telling him to escape from Mizuki)
 
Well I can't watch the dub, being as I am in England ?_?;;. I might see if I can get it for download maybe, I don't know, anyway, I have seen about 99 episodes of Naruto, because I found out a while back but only started downloading it a few months back and stuff XD, so I am catching up, I have also seen the movie and I have heard a few of the dub voices, and I have to say the original is always better
 
All I'm surprised about is that Viz made both episodes TV-PG, and kept a lot of the original in tact (even the Sexy no Jutsu). That'll be one of Toonami's first TV-PG productions, which is a bit of a surprise considering it'll be airing at a timeslot of 9:00pm.

It wasn't really butchered (like I told you in my pm) The only thing they edited out was the nose bleeds from the Sexy no Justu XD and the blood from Mizuki..

The voices p!ss me off to no ends though >.> Naruto sounds funny and Iruka..meh >.> I don't mind the Hokage's or Konohamaru's though..

I'm still surprised that they pronouced all but one of the names right o__O;; I think Iruka says Naruto a bit to slow though..
 
Eh....I was a bit disappointed. First, I was surprised how geared toward children it seemed to be, from the constant rock music to the shade-above-One-Piece quality voice acting. They pronounced most of the names correctly (though I almost wish they would have pronounced Naruto na-RU-to instead of NA-ru-to because it's less awkward). I can't complain about the editing because I haven't seen the Japanese version. The Sexy Jutsu (am I evil for liking the phrase "Ninja Centerfold" better?) wasn't that butchered...just the right amount of smoke added to make it decent, though I didn't like how the entire second episode was devoted to Naruto teaching Konohamaru the Sexy Jutsu....I don't remember that sequence being so time-consuming in the manga; Konohamaru transformed into the fat woman and that was it in the manga, but in the anime Naruto took fifteen or twenty minutes to teach him properly about it. Congrats to them for not saying "Hokaje" instead of "Hokage", too, I was worried about that. And from the previews, we know that Sasuke will indeed be Sauce-ke and Sakura will be Sakra. Though I wasn't thrilled, I'm going to give it another chance next week.

Well, look at it this way, at least KidsWB! didn't get their hands on it, if they did, it could be ALOT worse.

Meh...I try not to do that, it's just that I read volume one of the manga recently.

They have NOTHING to do with how a show is dubbed, all they do is air it.

Alan, Naruto is a show geared towards kids, old kids but kids still. The original Japanese music is mainly rock, they took out the first opening and made their own...both which sucked. They said Sausuke's name right in the first episode either way, though I wish they had kept Wind, that was a great ending.
 
Yeah, I was disappointed that they took the real ending out and replaced it with one of those cheesy slide show endings like they did with Zatch Bell =/ I haven't seen the actual ending, but anything had to be better than that.
 
I was dissapointed ALOT. I was hoping everyday for it to be rated TV-Y7-FV, but it turned TV-PG-V anyway. Sexy Jutsu scares me alot and it was kind of inappropriate when Naruto turned into a whole bunch of nude womans and jumped into one pile.
