    Hey PC...

This is really important that you answer this soon. I'm planning on going to Nationals, but I'm worried about my Eelzone deck. I haven't seen many others using this deck, and I'm wondering if it's because its not good in the format anymore. At the leagues I've been going to, I've seen more Zekeels, Darkrai, CMT, and those other decks. The only other deck I can create and still make it in time for Nationals is a Zekeels. That's because I've only been focusing on my Eelzone recently, not worrying about the new format with Dark Explorers. (oops.) So, I'm going to give you a list of my Eelzone (again) and PLEASE tell me whether I should use this or a Zekeels. Remember. Eelzone has POWER, but Zekeels has SPEED...

    Pokémon: 19

    4-2-4 Magnezone Prime
    1 Tynamo 30hp (free retreat)
    2 Tynamo DEX (spark)
    3 Eelektrik
    2 Raikou EX
    1 Mewtwo EX

    Trainers: 17 Supporters: 10 Total: 27

2 Dual Ball (better than collector, I can still use after draw supporter)
    3 Junk Arm
    2 Catcher
    3 Communication
    3 Rare Candy
    2 Switch
    2 Ultra Ball

    2 N
    1 Collector
    3 PONT
    4 Sage's Training

    Energy: 14

    2 DCE
    12 Lightning

Lead with Raikou or Magnemite, use draw supporters, Ultra Ball, etc. to get out Eelektrik and Magnezone. Use Raikou, Sage, Junk Arm, and Ultra Ball to get energy in Discard Pile for Dynamotoring. Use Switch for Magnezone when needed, and start the Lost Burn rally. Keep Raikou armed at all times. Even if it gets Catchered and KO'd, you'll have more energy in the Discard Pile for Magnezone. Mewtwo is mostly a self-counter, but it works really well as an attacker, too.

So, give me your thoughts on this deck, and whether it's good enough for Nationals. If it's not, please give advice on how to change this to a Zekeels. If you think this deck would be better, I'd like something to take out for a Skyarrow Bridge. Thanks, PC!!!

Following up from my man Donny V, I think you should try out a heavy Twins line up. Forsake Magneton completely and focus on Rare Candy. You should max Dual Ball and forgo Collector completely in my opinion. I would use Max N in this deck as well since Magnezone gives you draw power. Junk Arm should be maxed too. 1 Raikou EX is sufficient, you could do with a second Mewtwo EX perhaps. Do not run the 30HP tynamo, Darkrai will snipe it horrid.

Donny V... that's funny. Anyway, I don't really want to change the Raikou/Mewtwo because Raikou is more like an turn 2/3 sniper and etc., while Mewtwo is only a counter for itself. The reason I prefer to use 2 Dual Ball and 1 Collector is because Dual Ball takes risks with the coin flip, while collector is guaranteed to give you three basics (unless they're all prized :)). However, I would still be able to use DB after PONT'ing, Saging, or N'ing. And I need magneton, because of decks like Truth-EX, Gothitelle (very unlikely), or any other Trainer Lock I'm missing. Unless I go 4-1-4 and then max candy. As for Tynamo... I will obey the Overlord Drakey. And N, I don't know what to take out for it!! ;(

    @donnavanj:

Would you mind starting a skeleton Zekeels? I'm just a little rough on the deck, so I just need something to work off of. Thanks!

    I would personally go with

    4-3 Eelektrik
    2 Zekrom
    1 Smeargle

As a rough base. Then you can add in EX Pokemon like Tornadus, Mewtwo and Raikou as you see fit. Zekrom EX is pretty subpar in my opinion though. Hitting for 150 doesn't achieve any significant OHKOs except for eviolite Terrakion / Zekrom which is nice and all but I don't think it's worth using.

    How about this?

    4-4 Eelektrik
    3 Zekrom
    2 Raikou-EX
    1 Mewtwo-EX
    2 Thunderus

    4 PONT
    3 N
    4 Twins
    2 Juniper
    3 Dual Ball
    3 Junk Arm
    1 Energy Retrieval
    2 Random Reciever
    2 Catcher
    3 Communication
    1 Skyarrow Bridge
    2 Switch

    12 Lightning
    2 DCE

I literally just wrote this list down with no visuals whatsoever... :3 it actually might work!

    Okay, then.
    -4 Twins
    +4 Sage
2/3 Ultra Ball??? (is it worth it? if so, what do I take out?)

*And I personally am not a fan of Smeargle, nor do I own one. I just don't think it'll be a good card in the new format with Darkrais, Raikous, and those other annoying cards that recently came out. I'll think it over, though.

A pair of Ultra Ball is so worth it just to dump those energy cards into the discard pile. Just use 4 Juniper, 4 PONT and 2 N as your supporter line up. It's standard but it works. You don't need Energy Retrieval in this deck either. It is a good card though if you're teching Terrakion or something like that into your deck.

Umm... have you noticed what deck this is?? ZekEELS!! You're supposed to dump energy into the discard pile. And fyi... it almost has the same effect as Junk Arm. I only run 2 Juniper coz it dumps your whole hand into the discard pile.

It's no use arguing, man. It'll get us nowhere, especially with Nationals TOMORROW.

I think you misread my post. I agreed that two ultra ball was a good idea lol

Juniper is god like especially when you use cards like Ultra Ball / Junk Arm to lower your hand size. Use 4.

The thing he was getting at is that you will have at least one Eel in play roughly 75% of the time that you have energy in the discard pile, maybe higher or lower depending on how well you protect your Eels (and how lucky you get with your opponent's Catcher uses), making Energy Retrieval optional, while Juniper is supposed to be an effective means to get energy where your Eels can access them while simultaneously "refreshing" your hand. You definitely want more than 2 Juniper, while Energy Retrieval is more of a just in case card, so you could make do with 1 for "just in case", if it puts your mind at ease, but you don't really need Energy Retrieval, because of the Eels which bring Energy back into play onto your bench. Though I suppose it could come in handy for retreating vulnerable 'mons out of the Active spot if they manage to survive that first turn of being Catchered up.

Aww man!!! oops... haha! Anyway, National's is going epicly for me!! I might make it to the Finals... I'm sooo scared!!
