Natural spawn habitats?

Niantic got their information about areas from ingress players so a lot of it depends on how muchc detail your local ingress players gave.
Beaches are quite obvious so those are generally full of Pokemon, fields and woods don't tend to have many pokestops so that's probably why they not as good.
I feel that niantic should contact active players in an area and see if they interested in providing more information about the area to help them build up a better profile of each town. Rural areas could do with having pokestops along footpaths and nature trails which would really help in niantics aim to get people out and seeing new things

Not sure how coincidental this was but today whilst driving past a big pond outside of a shopping arcade three different Water-types all appeared at once and my friend who lives in the area told me that she almost always finds a Squirtle there when she drives past (I assumed a nest but today I found Poliwag, Staryu and Magikarp there). Looks like water does at least mean Water Pokémon!
