hello guys, this might be my first post here XD
so I have been playing the game for about 2 weeks now. I was trying to make a team for online battle. ( Since that's the only thing you can do in post game ,sadly)
I never really made a team before,so my team probably has lots problem and need a lot of adjustments. feel free to comment, I appreciated.

I was trying to make a rain team, here is the team list.

Jolteon choice specs Timid thunder absorb 252spe 252spA 4HP
Thunder Thunderbolt Volt-switch shadow ball (Since in XY I can't get signal beam, the moveset is pretty crap)
Sczior choice band adamant Technician 252atk 252hp 4spD
bullet punch Brick Break Uturn Pursuit
Zapdos Damp Rock Naive pressure 252spA 252spe 4HP
volt Switch HiddenPower(ice) Rain Dance Thunder
Gorebyss Life Orb Modest Swift Swim 252spA 252spe 4HP
shadow Ball ice Beam Psychic Surf
Gyarados Adamant Wacan berry(weaken electro move) Intimidate 252Atk 252spd 4HP
Dragon Dance Waterfall Earthquake Stone Edge
    Vaporeon Leftovers Bold hydration 252HP 252Def 4spD
    Roar Wish Scald Rest

I was thinking at to add another pokemon to use RainDance, but I don't know which one to add and which one to take out.
This team has some very serious problem againest some OU pokemons (such as ferrothorn).I am aware of it but have no idea how to change.
Please leave your comment and advises, again I am not a professional pokemon player in anyway, this will be my first team. thanks for your help XD.
PS: btw,I am not aiming for making a 100% meta team full of OU pokemon. just try to make a team that's good and fun to play with.
PPS: I would like to add friend with everyone,my FC:3695-0041-7389 safari ground type. If you want me to add you, leave your FC or message me personally.

Welcome to the community, looks good so far, you need 2 things though.

    - a pokemon or 2 that have Stealth Rocks, Spikes, or Poison Spikes (preferably all)
    - a rapid spinner (to get opposing rocks and spikes off you)

Sorry for any inconvenience, as I may have mis-read

Edit: You could switch out Gyarados for Blastoise, Blastoise can be a good tank and knows Rapid spin, though, it is up to you.

    umm,Blastoise sounds a good idea.
how should I make my Blastoise,is he a pure tank or has some potential to do damage as well.
    thanks.

I preferably like to build my tanks mixed, since you never know what the opponent might send out. He can do a good amount of destruction if you know how to use him.
If you don't like him, use empoleon. It is a pretty good mixed too. Kind of a more updated Blastoise if you don't fancy Old School"
Ignore that, Empoleon can't learn Rapid Spin, only use her if you want to stall or have extra space

You probably want a Hazard Pokemon going into online. Here is what I recommend.
    Hazard Smeargle
Moves: Sticky Web, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Option: Spore, Extreme Speed, or Magic Coat (I usually use Spore)
As far as Iv's and Ev's all you really want to do is to Max out it's speed. Other than that it's purely up to you.
I would also use a Focus Sash on it, to make sure you get at least ONE hazard up lol
    Have fun ^^

Try teaching Bounce to your Gyarados. You could replace it with Stone Edge if you like, as it's a bit risky due to having low accuracy. Also, for Scizor, try replacing Brick Break with Superpower. Brick Break's okay, but with Superpower, you should be able to knock out almost any Pokémon with just a single hit.

Oh, and I'm moving this thread to Battle Center, since that's the official place for all things related to competitive battling. (:

    Moved.

The format is a bit hard to read... D:

Anyway, Jolteon should use Hidden Power Ice over Thunderbolt, since having 2 Electric moves is redundant.

Timid may be better for Zapdos, since it's not using physical moves, though Naive is okay if you can't be bothered with getting the right nature.

Consider Shell Smash on Gorebyss because it's not that fast to begin with:
    -Shell Smash
    -Surf
    -Hidden Power (Grass/Fire)
    -Ice Beam
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Lum Berry
    Ability: Swift Swim

@Perdition: Bounce isn't available till Poke Bank.

Protect is important for Vaporeon, as it guarantees that it gets the Wish without having to take a hit. Use it over Roar.

smeargle sounds like a great idea, So he usually goes first and use as much as hazard as he can ?

sorry about posting this in a wrong place,I will be careful next time. I don't know is there a way for Scizor to get supoerpower in XY,or is there?

yea.. for now I don't have much choice at the Zapdos,he has very low HP IV,If I can I might run a pure support zapdos with full HP and speed, getting Timid for sure.
For Gorebyss, is it really important to use the shell smash? cuz I had the skill before, doesn't feel so good when using it.

Yes, Shell Smash is one of Gorebyss' main draws. If you don't like the defensive drops, use White Herb as the item.

I just feel Gorebyss is little bit squish, I usually just get sucker punch in the face next turn after I use shell smash. I guess it depands on player skill then.

Gorebyss, huh? That's an interesting tactic. I've never seen a Gorebyss used in competitive battling before.

Shell Smash compromises Defence and Special Defence for a big boost in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. It is an interesting move, since you gain more than you lose. But I'm not really a big fan of decreasing defence... Gorebyss already has a good Attack and Special Attack, granted, but its Speed is pretty low. It has potential for an offensive Pokemon if its Speed stat was higher.

To add on to what PD is Saying. You should consider Strength to being accurate if running a rain team then Thunder would be great, If not I suggest Thunderbolt. Most time relying on the "Home Run" ball doesnt work at critical times.

As Far as Zapdos. As a future reference have a poke lead with Synchronize to the which ever Nature ( Synchronize Abra with Timid) When caught it should come up as that nature.

Maybe using it with Swift Swim on a rain team would work better.

Gorebyss with White Herb and baton pass + Shell Smash is decent, as its speed before smash is not terrible. It also sets up for some big sweeps.
