3rd Gen Need help evolving Tyrogue

Hmmm,I can't really remember but i think i breeded him untill he had a high defence then i trained him but his defence stayed the highest.Well something like that.

get a Tyrogue and if you give it protein 5 times it will envolve into hitmolee at lv 20, if you give zinc i think can't remember well it ups it's defence well do 5times it will envolve into hitmocha at lv 20, if you ups Tyrogue's sp atk and sp def (can't remember what medicine is it) it will envolve to hitmotop at lv 20

Yep that's right.

You need to give it items to up it's status.

You could use protein for leveling up it's attack. And you could EV train it maximizing it in attack or defense.

for hitmontop, breed until the stats are equal and then train against pokemon that do not give out defense/attack evs. that gets hitmontop... and as for the other two just use 10 protein/irons and at level 20 the preferred stat should raise above the other.

What I do is train my tyrogue up to just before level 20, then feed it irons or protiens to get the stats I want. At this stage, one shouldn't be vastly higher than the other: if you give vitamins at a lower level, you'll need to give more to raise the stat you want. Confused? I came across this when I was prepping for my experiment: trying to get a zigzagoon to the same stat level as a near identical one, I found I had to give it eight Hp ups just to raise it's hp by one point. Later on, doing something similar with another pair of nearly equal pokemon at level 25, only one HP up was needed to increase the HP by the same level.

So your tyrogue, at level 19, and with it's exp very close to the level up point, might have stats like this (these are made up, BTW)

HP=26
Att=9
Def=10
Sp.Att=11
Sp.Def=10
Speed=12

For Hitmontop, I'd level attack with defense, for the other two, I'd make sure which ever stat required is higher by about 2 points. From what I've seen, at this level, stats rise by about one or two points anyway, so a gap of two between stats should be enough.

Hitmontop is more difficult to get, because the stats must be equal. All you can do is watch the two, and equalise if you think you need to. So long as your attack and defense stats are the same when Tyrogue levels up to 20, you should get tyrogue, regardless of whatever stat increase occurs when level twenty is reached.

Good luck!

The easiest way to boost up Tyrogue's defense stat is to switch him in battle. Boosting up it's attack stat is way more difficult. You need to give it either Strenght or Facade or any other 70-80 or preferably even more damage making attacks and give it choice band or salac or silk scarf(if you don't have the previous two) to hold. However, equalizing stats is even harder. And after a while you won't be able to give Tyrogue any more drugs. If you give it Iron, it will not just get a bit higher defense stat, but will get 1+ to the defense stat when levelling up, regardless of the stat it would normally get. Example: it would get 1+ normally when he's levelling up, but after he gets Iron and levels up, he'll get 2+ to it's defense stat. The problem is, that he won't get 1+ to it's attack stat like this when levelling up, or if he'd get 2 or 3, that wouldn't be because of feeding it with Proteins, so you must be careful if you want to equalize it's stats, cause if he won't have attack=defense or attack>defense on lv.20, he won't learn Triple Kick/Brick Break, depending on which you want to evolve it into (or it will but only with the help of the Move Tutor, but you'll need a Heart Scale to use his help). You can also breed him with Ditto to get another Tyrogue if you fail to equalize it's attack and defense stats or raise it's attack stats higher then defense on lv.20. I think Hitmonlee's better so you won't have a very hard time to raise it's attack if you have a good normal/fighting attack+choice band, but beware, cause Hitmonlee will have an ability that disables to be paralyzed, so Facade wouldn't be very suitable for him, only if you decide to evolve Tyrogue into Hitmontop, but maybe it's not such a good idea to waste a TM for this. I suggest to save your game, when it's on lv.19 and is about to evolve.
