all of the legendaries can be caught without a masterball, the key is to use a high level pokemon when throwing a ball (full hp) and weaken the foe as much as possible and start with quick ball, then ultra balls or special balls and finish with timer balls

OBJECTION!

Celebi and Jirachi cannot be "caught" without the use of a cheating device. instead, you can only "obtain" them via Events.
Also, you can't "catch" Manaphy, you hatch it from an egg or recieve it in an event.

Oh, and FEAR Rattata works like a charm.

DarkrAI was only available at a giveaway in Japan, which took place along with the Pokemon Movie. It's called Movie Darkrai.
Someone should be able to get you one in the Wireless Trade Center though.

People have been talking about how the quick ball works differently on legends. it doesnt. The quickball works by having a high catch rate at the start of the battle and lowers every 5 turns. it is not dependant on the poke you are catching. my strategy for making best use of quickballs is reducing the legends' HP for 3 moves then using 2 quick balls. I caught most legends this way

It works better IMO cuz its not affected by sandstorm and Ice shard ALWAYS hits first, rather than quick attack whch is, well, quick :)
