With Noto Serif and Open Sans being shifted to non-disablable web fonts I thought it'd be appropriate given my discovery to suggest PC shift entirely to the use of Web Fonts. Here's why.
I'm on Arch Linux at the moment, using Firefox. A problem with Firefox on Linux is that anti-aliasing is impossible with the built-in fonts, with basically local fonts coming out jagged and pixelated - but web fonts work fine and are hinted greatly and all with subpixel rendering and everything. I know it's a Firefox thing and it isn't necessarily PC's problem per se but for me I don't have any other viable alternatives (Chromium has too much overhead and Opera lacks HTML5), and it may be in PC's general interest to switch for any other instances where this may be happening.
A lot of major websites already do that, I do so as well with my site... it's a thought. What do you think?
