Basically, my computer has WPA security mode. To play DS online, I have to switch to WEP. Thats no problem to me. The problem is that when I switch to WEP, my computer wont connect. It says that the connection strength is good, but there is a cable unplugged. However, it doesnt say this when it is set on WPA (but then my DS cant play online). Does anyone have a solution?

If you're using Windows 7, install Connectify and connect to your computer with your DS.

It's because your computer is set to use WPA, so when you switch the router to WEP, the computer won't connect.
Twocow's suggestion is good, because you don't want to use WEP if you can avoid it. It's insecure.

I don't know why it would do that since you seem to be using an ethernet connection judging by your comment about "Cable Unplugged"

I have a similar problem with my router but seeing as how the ethernet should be insecure... I don't see why it should effect it.

For instance, when I change to WEP, the wireless won't work, but ethernet works fine.

    Try https://www.connectify.me/. =3

I don't remember exactly how, but you can create what is known as an ad hoc network – a computer-to-computer network that can allow you to share an active network connection over an unused network device such as a wi-fi card.

I hope this link from Microsoft will prove useful:

If you're running a Mac, then here's what Apple has to offer:
    https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8339.html
Yes, it's for Mac OS X 10.5, but I have confirmed it to work with later versions of OS X.

I believe that ad-hoc won't let you share a wireless internet connection, since it uses the wireless card itself.

Connectify does not work on Windows XP. You would need to upgrade to Windows 7 to use it.

Ok. How else do I solve my problem? I don't want to switch connections just to use my DS. I would love for my computer to work on WEP (I know that sounds weird since WEP is terrible)
