5th Gen New corocoro scans !!

I was hoping that they'd show us the bug Pokemon that you'll be able to capture towards the beginning. I pray it's not the spider. Maybe next month.

Why not a spider?
I hope for a bug pokemon based on a blue butterfly :)

I've had enough Butterflies as the bug beginner...I want a Firefly as the beginner... Hopefully with the Bug/Electric typing (instead of the Spider (Denchura) being that type) 3 stages Bug -> Bug -> Bug/Elec or just 2 stages Bug -> Bug/Elec
 
Well we already know the spider, but usually the Bug-Types you get early on are basic types like Bug/Poison or Bug/Flying. Maybe another butterfly or even a mosquito or fly.

Don't base things on what they did previous... Change isn't always bad...

Maybe Denchura's Prevo and Firefly's Prevo as the Bugs? They could always be Bug/Blah and turn into Bug/Elec and Bug/Fire...

Thinking about the typing of Elec and Fire thought could be that they are exclusives... Denchura's Bug/Elec on Pokemon Black as the Legend is Fire and Firefly's Bug/Fire on Pokemon White as the Legend is Elec...

That would make sense...didn't they do something similar in a previous gen?

It;s something that has been a staple since the very beginning just like the common bird, starters, and common rodent.

Kanto: Rattata, Pidgey, Caterpie, Weedle
Johto: Sentret, Hoothoot, Ledyba, Spinarak
Hoenn: Zigzagoon, Taillow, Wurmple (Beautifly, Dustox)
Sinnoh: Bidoof, Starly, Combe, Burmy?, and Kricketot
Isshu: Minezumi, Mamepato, ???, ???

They havent been anything but Bug, Bug/Flying, or Bug/Poison...

That doesn't have an effect on this generation change can and will happen... You can't confirm the same staple...

I'm open to change, I'm just saying that so far the basics look like they are staying. It's the thing that lets you know you're playing a Pokemon game early on.

Lotad was a starter Pokemon but it is a Grass/Water... Totally out there...

Lotad was available early on so it's the grass types secondary starter after the real starter :P. Also serves as a good pokemon to capture if you picked torchic instead of Mudkip, and treeko ;)
