It's only what English speakers have been calling him because of what the basis of the Japanese name is, which I think is just WRONG! They use the symbol of our country, throw on the colors of our flag, put a Native American headdress on and slap WAR in the name. Nice, and I think there is a social message in it :/

There were a couple of native american tribes that were warring tribes...they might not be the one's in the us either they might be based on the natives of southern North America like the Aztec which were a warring people and wore headress with feathers as well :)

I surely hope so, it's just that they used the colors of the American flag which sends a message of what they think this country is all about, but maybe I'm thinking to much into this.

The chipmunk is pretty awesome looking to be the common rodent... I can't it's been completely ignored in this thread.

Ratatta, Sentret, Zigzagoon, Bidoof have all played that role and the Chipmunk is the next installment to the annoying rodent/Normal-Type family. I just hope it's evolved form doesn't ruin it.
