I have encountered a problem regarding hidden item in the game. In mt.moon, follow the first ladder down, you will see a path, walk down the path, around the corner, there is a hidden tiny mushroom, keep walking ,at the end of the path, there are 2 hidden big mushrooms. However, some players complained that they could not pick up these hidden items, including me.
After a lot of testing, I found that there are some attributes of hidden item that are not revealed by Advance Map. Take the tiny mushrooms in mt.moon for example. Walk into mt.moon, take the first ladder down, then walk down the path, a tiny mushroom is hidden under the rock around the corner. If you look at the information shown on Advance Map, it is like any other hidden items.
So you should be able to pick it up just like other items. However, some players cannot pick it up! And after some testing, I found that its presence hinge on meeting the prerequisite that you got the map from the rival's sister. If you skip the script of the rival's sister giving you the map, you would not be able to pick up this hidden item. In other words, some hidden items would check your events flag. OMG~this explains why some of us cannot pickup the two big mushrooms at the end of the path. And I still cannot figure out the prerequisite for those two big mushrooms.
Anyway, it seems that there is more to hidden item that is yet to be discovered.
