    Today I started a new game on my pearl, after trading all the good ones over to my brotheres diamond.

    I was playing up until the first gem when i realized my piplups IVs sucked.

    I think he had low spattk attk and speed, as he was hitting crap and always attacked last.

    But i need sme advice, is it worth starting again for a good piplup?
     
    Tbh you could compleate the story like that ... it just might be a tiny bit harder

    No, the game does not require that much effort, I myself did it with a jolly piplup. It's impossible to viably IV/EV early game anyway. Just ramp up the levels, and if you wanna improve your SpAtt do it against budew (1 SpAtt EV each.)

    Or go face some gastly's for spc atk. later in the game too! =]
     
    There's no reason to restart the game, you can beat the story with anything even with a team full of Magikarp with Tackle or Flail. IVs can't make the game alot harder.
    If you want to get a good Piplup for Wi-Fi or something you could just breed them..
     
    Don't start over... It would be a waste. You can ev train later...
     
    Yeah.. I had a sucky piplup in the beginning to who was lv. 10 and lost speed to a lv. 3 starly!! Now its a rocking lv. 44 empoleon!! dont give up.
     
    One you should of started with turtwig or chimchar just me and why the hell would you start again it is a waste of time and u should stop whining just train it and it will be god before you know it
     
    Any IV deficiencies you'll make up for with other stats for sure!

    My Piplup also lacked Speed, but when I started again without saving, although I did get a Piplup with better Speed, its HP was pants, and I prefer HP over Speed in general.

    In general, I'm more of an offensive player, so as long as the Attack and Sp.Atk stats are healthy, then I'm happy. With ones like Marill that have terrible Attack and Sp.Atk, I'd just attach a Mystic Water and the difference in battle is very minimal.
     
    There's no point in trying to get a good-IVed Pokémon for in-game. I just resetted for a female one, so I could breed it without Ditto.

    You can just breed for a good one if you want to EV it.
     
    Seriously, Don't bother restarting. Keep it as it is for now. If you really want it stronger just Ev train it
     
    Wait, do you have to have a female to breed w/ ditto? I've done it w/ a male.
     
    I guarantee you that your Piplup will do fine ingame, everyones does. Even the sucky ones. You don't have to like that Piplup, just use it and once you beat the League put it in the PC and never use it again because you now have IV'd and EV'd Pkmn that are actually competant battlers.
