New Pokemon for Generation 5?

Do you reckon they will release new Pokemon for Generation 5, like new starters for instance?

If you ask me, they won't. 493 is around the limit they can reach without making the game nigh-on impossible. However, I think they may release new forms for Pokemon (Giratina's Origin Forme being an example). Also, perhaps, they may add a couple (only a couple, mind) of new legendaries.

What do you people think?

I figure they'll do new starters, evolutions, and pre-evolutions of existing Pokemon. A legendary or two.

Other than that, I don't know. There's a lot more they could do as far as new Pokemon, no doubt, but there's just so many right now...

Yes, there's Wi-Fi. Problem is, most people use the GTS, over which you can only get Pokemon already in your Pokedex, which doesn't help.

A valid one. Reckon you would have the time to waste collecting 500+ Pokemon? Collecting is fun and all, but there has to be a limit somewhere...

I don't think they'll add a lot, but I reckon they'll add some.

One or Two Legendaries, 2 Eevee Evolutions maybe (Ghost and Steel by Holding either Reaper Cloth or Metal Coat, Ghouleon and Metaleon or something like that.) and then a few evolutions for Previous Gen Pokémon such as Farfecth'd and Luvdisc.

Yes, and the limit will be whenever Nintendo stops making the games, ie. when the franchise stops making money, which won't be for a very long time. There is no way on this Earth that they will bring out a new generation without bringing out new pokemon, otherwise it just wouldn't be a new generation. It's not like they can completely run out of ideas! I have over 130 ideas for original pokemon, and I'm just one man! They have a whole team of people! Besides, the focus isn't even on "cathing 'em all" any more, it's beating the Elite Four for casual gamers, and building a competitive team for the more hardcore fans.

More pokemon = more money for them, more fun for us, more promotion for the franchise, more material for the anime, more of everything. There will be more pokemon. Full stop. Now can HGSS hurry up and come out so we can get something new to talk about instead of having to resort to this insanity. Does anyone here genuinely think that they wouldn't introduce new pokemon? Think really hard about it, not what you want to happen, but what is most likely to happen. Logically. This thread is insane.

I don't agree with the insane part. But yes, i agree with the part bout new pokes. Which is why i hope they do Hoenn and Kanto remakes after Hg/Ss, coz once they're done, i'll be too old to be interested in pokemon, so i won't have to get caught up in the complexities of a 5th Gen.

Personally, I'd see this as a test. I've managed to memorize every pokemon there is so far. Personally, I wouldn't mind some more evolution families. Of course, there's always the question of how they could possibly top Arceus, the Pokemon God.

they probably will have 100 more Pokemon, I wish they would make it an even 100, all they need to do is add 107 more Pokemon. But I hope they don't make so many legendary Pokemanz and if so, no moar Psychic legendary Pokemon
