    Heya,

I have a question. I'm trying to EV train my first pokemon. It's a Scizor that I bred and trained myself. I believe I understand the basics of EV training, my only reservation is in strategy. I don't know exactly where to place the correct EVs. A lot of what I've read is that I should max out his atk and spd, but I was thinking of trying a more leveled approach. I know his IVs and I found his Lv. 100 through the game and I was thinking of trying to raise both his defenses to be equal and even numbers, then even out his HP, then give what was left to his Spd. Is this a bad approach? Or should I be more basic and just max out two of his stats? Thanks for your help.

Its EVs should be based on his role in your team and what kind of moves it has. Obviously, if it has a lot of attacks, you need to take the basic max atk/speed approach but if you want a "more leveled approach", he will need something different. Here is a good site to see what moves go with which set of EVs so if you like a moveset on there, just follow what EVs it suggests for Scizor to have.

Also, your chart sorta doesn't show an understanding of EVs. o.0; It takes 4 EVs to raise a stat 1 point, so if you wanted its Attack to go from 266 to 300, it would take 136 EVs instead of 34. Remember that you can only have a max of 255 in one stat and 510 in total. Go to the Simple Q&A for more help on EVs or here to just request a moveset for Scizor.

I hope any of this helped. Anyways, this doesn't belong in D/P, so with that being said..
