i have always been intrigued about pokemon since i heard about it but have never played one till today
i bought Black, have only played it half an hour
    a few questions
    1. any tips for someone new? (to Black, or just in general)
    2. which order should i buy the games, does it matter?
    3. are most fans of the game fans of the cartoon? ( just curious thats all)
    4. are there many people on this forum over 30? ( again, no reason other than curiosity as i am 34)

YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD FOR POKEMON! ^_^

Welcome to the PokeCommunity, and A HUGE WELCOME TO POKEMON! No matter how old you are, Pokemon is fun to play. Fortunately we have several help sections here that can answer your questions, but I can go ahead and answer some in advance. :)

So you're wanting some tips? Would it be for a new member like you or for Pokemon? My recommendation, since you bought Black, is to visit the Black & White board and join the discussion there! You can also ask some questions in the Quick Questions thread if you ever need help with the game. In terms of order...to me, it doesn't really matter, since I played White first, then moved on to Soulsilver. Each game consists of a different region.

A lot of game fans are fans of the anime as well. So, you can always love more than two things about Pokemon. There is no rule for that. ^_^ In terms of age...we do have slightly a few members around your age. So you're not alone!

Just be sure to read the rules before you jump in on the discussions! Don't hesitate to ask me or Hiidoran any more questions you may have. Have fun here, and see ya!

I'd say Black is somewhat better than White, and the usual order for buying games is you buy one of the first pair (Black or White), and then the "bridging game" or "director's cut" as some call it, and you can get one of the remakes if there are any. And yes, a lot of Pokémon fans love the Anime, however some only like certain seasons (for example I dislike Best Wishes but adore the Advanced Generation), some love the anime much more than the games, and some vice versa. And as far as age specifications go, over two thirds of the mods and admins at this other, more strict Pokémon forum that I go to are all over 20 years of age, and a few key admins are in their 30s there. Anyway, welcome to the official PokéCommunity Forums!

Heh… me and Megnium posted at the same time ^͜^ LoL!
