Hello everyone! So my son and I just got into pokemon a few months back. We have just been playing against each other and some friends. So my question is, when building a deck for standard format play can I use different cards from different series as long as those series are still legal? For example, can I use Sword and Shield cards with Sun and Moon Tag Team cards in the same deck??

I cant find the info on the pokemon website. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You
    Jeremy

Yes, as long as they aren't on the ban list.

Here's Pokemon's official listing describing what's allowed in Standard, which is inclusive of mixing cards from sets:

"The Standard format for the 2020 season will consist of the following expansions:

Sun & Moon—Ultra Prism and any expansions released afterward

Black Star Promo cards numbered SM94 and up

Cards from the following products are also legal:

    Dragon Majesty

    Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu"

Worth noting that you can only use 4 of any card that has that specific card name unless it is a Basic Energy, so you can't get around restrictions by having 4 of a card from one set and then 4 of an identically named card from a different set, but you could have 4 in any combination of that card from the two sets.

    Make sense?
