[Help] New to the community, and romhacking (and all programming :P)

    Hello! :)

    I'm new to pokecommunity.com (but not to pokemon! :P).

    I'm looking to learn a few basic romhacking tools, so I can make a simple edit to the base Red/Blue games as a gift for somebody.

    I'm talking very basic edits, as my main goal is learning how to change the nicknames of the Elite Four's pokemon. :P (And perhaps change Red's starter pokemon.)

    So I guess you'll see me around in the romhacking sections (once I learn which of the 2 is appropiate)! :D

    The community seems fun, and I've seen loads of awesome romhacks made by other people. So I can't wait to join in! :)

    Hello there! You're really friendly! Welcome to the PC!

    I wish I could tell you which sections to check, but I don't know those areas at all, so sadly I'm of no help there...
    But I wish you luck on finding what you're looking for, and if you really need directions, go ahead and message one of the section's Moderators about it, I'm sure they'll be happy to point you in the right direction!

    What kind of edits do you plan to make on Red / Blue ?
    Best of luck finding what you need!
     
    Mostly small edits, like changing the Elite Four's names, and Red's starter Pokemon.

    I'm completely new to romhacking (and programming/editing games in general), so I won't be undertaking anything large just yet! :P
