What sprite did you use as the base? This is an edit competition, meaning you have to edit a sprite, not just throw multiple parts together. Though I'm guessing you used Tsunbeaa as the base.

Why it is New Year's or Winter related: A Darkrai, wearing a santa hat, decorating a Sudowoodo for Christmas.
Parts you used to edit: Sudowoodo's Whole Body, Darkrai's Whole Body, Santa Cap from scratch, bell from edited Chingling, Star is obviously edited Togepi. Lights from scratch.
Colors: Black&White Variations, Red Variations, Default Palletes for aforementioned Pokémon.

Why it is New Year's or Winter related:
I present you all, The Ghost of Christmas Past! It's more Christmas related but..meh.

Parts used:
I used Dusclops as a based and scratched everything else, the glowing, psychic outlines, present, stocking, candy cane, santa hat and beard. I also changed the colours of Dusclops's body.
Most of the scratch stuff is custom colours, if that's okay. :/

I'm glad the deadline was extended. c:

Why it is New Year's or Winter related: This frosty Alakazam is using it's psychic powers as an advantage in a snowball fight! The psychic powers propel the snowballs quicker than you could imagine.

Why it is New Year's or Winter related: It's a chore that Jynx, Delibird and Vanipeti created just for you, in honor of the New Year!
Parts you used to edit: Scratched the notes, paper blast and fireworks, using Jynx's palette. Only edited the eyes of each pokemon (and mirrored the pose of Jynx)

Why it is New Year's or Winter related: It's in New Year's related in that it is Touko with a sparkler and a hat with he number 2011 dangling on top of it. It is like she is at a countdown event to the new year,

Why it is New Year's or Winter related: It's St. Nick (Delibird) with two of his reindeer, Blitzen and Rudolph.
Parts you used to edit: I took Stantler and Delibird sprites for the Spriter's Resource to use as the bases, then drew the reins in on paint and added Rudolph's nose which is Tepig's tail.

Parts you used to edit: Simply took the Blaine sprite and added a beard and Santa hat. Everything else is untouched save a few adjustments to the colors.

Why it is New Year's or Winter related: 2011 is the year of the rabbit according to the Chinese zodiac, so I made two Buneary carry a traditional New Year's Dragon.
Parts you used to edit: Gyarados for the Dragon and 2 Buneary. Everything else is scratch.
