Suggestion: News sub-forum.

If anyone read my thread on OC, you would have seen that it really irratates me with all these little news posts running around there.

I suggested a News thread, but apparently that was already done and it didn't work. So now I have a better idea.

Have a News sub-forum in OC. It'll clear up all these pesky news threads, whilst keeping them for the people who actually want to read them, it works for everyone.

That thread was back in June when that thread was discussed. There's really nothing wrong with bringing the subject back up, especially with all the recent threads being posted in Other Chat.

In my opinion, Other Chat is mostly one dedicated towards discussions centered around news and latest happenings around the world. But seeing as how you can do so much more in Other Chat, I can see this happening. Especially with all the latest happenings. The threads posted now actually have content and a lot of discussion comes from them. I can see it going both ways...

There's actually barely any news threads in there at the moment... Not sure what you mean when you say "all the latest happenings".
It'd be a dead section before it started, not to mention a drain on OC activity as well.

I just find it annoying to look through all of them to find the thread I like. Besides, OC would still be active, it would still be in that forum, just as a subforum.

I find shipping fics annoying. Let's give them their own sub-forum too so my trivial nitpick will finally stop badgering me.

You being able to post here; look at threads and all that other stuff is a privilige, not a right. I'm willing to bet a lot of money that there are way more members who want to read news and offer input on them or start debating about them. Netto Azure being the most obvious lol. The only news threads that tick me off are the ones where the thread starter posts a link and leaves the thread with one word: discuss.

But I don't mind; those threads get locked.

If you can't offer a valid reason other than 'it irks me', just give up. Most forumites here have had years of experience of social networking and hardly any of them have kept to just PC. Any of us who were on forums with news forums/sub-forums will say that there was either no activity or that it got shut down for being so inactive.

Not much more to say - the cobs outweight the pros.

The only ones that I can see justifiable as getting their own sub-forum is the ones that provide debate, but we all know the staff's stance on that.

As it goes the ones that don't provide debate actually actually get less discussion, often just being things things that people can generally agree on being cool/a tragedy.

And visa-versa; I'm not having a personal jab at you, sharing of opinions is usually what happens in these situations.
