Should this go here, or shouldn't it? Oh well, I've gone and done it now anyways, so I may as well begin.

In the coming weeks I (and hopefully Agent Zero) will be writing a new "informer" of sorts as to things going on in the Game Development section of PC.
Before you deride my idea, one of the ways I'm going to make it more interesting than just a retelling of what you've already read on the forums is through interviews and various features. Most of the things I'll be putting in will be left for the release of the first issue (which, whether Avatar likes it or not, will be coming soon...)., however what I need from the more brave designers on this site is this:

--Letters, letters, letters. Corrections to previous issues, suggestions for designers, things I could include, stuff like that. I'll be putting most of the letters I get into a "Letters to the Editor" section, which will remain anonymous unless otherwise stated.

--People to be interviewed. I know that anyone willing to brave an idea the rough the ravages internet has no small ego. So, if you want to be interviewed, just tell me. All I ask is that you have good grammar (do be readable), and to stay on your topic, whatever that may be. The newsletter will include up to two (2) interviews, one of which is already filled for the upcoming issue.

-Extra information. One of the main articles of this newsletter will be the reviews. Even though I'm going to make them pretty in-depth, I still need something to keep this thing a cut above the regular forums. So, if you want a review for your game (there will be two [2] from the Games Showcase, and one [1] from thee Plot and Story Idea Space), be sure to give extra-juicy, unreleased information to be put into my article.

    Upcoming issues:
    ISSUE 1 (February 6th) - FULL
    - Pokemon Uranium
    - Pokemon Moonlight
    - Pokemon Flame of Destiny
    Interviews:
    - ~JV~
    - POKEMAN|4C (I think...)
    ISSUE 2 (February 13th) - FULL
    - Pokemon The Lost World
    - Pokemon Raptor
    - Pokemon Ammolite
    Interviews:
    - Nytkoi
    - Pokemon OI
    ISSUE 3 (Febrauary 20th) - FULL
    - Pokemon Scarlet
    - Pokemon Malachite
    - Mother 4
    Interviews:
    - <~Flood~>
    - Kyledove

: Just don't ask for a position as a journalist. You can be as annoying as you want in asking for a position on the letter, but my associate and I will be plenty for the writing. If you want to be a designer for the banner, and any other various graphics I'll need, just ask. However, I only need one [1] person for that job.

Final note: I'm not breaking any rules here, right? I am, after all, going to be putting it right here, in the Game Development section (look for it every Friday starting some time next month!), and it's not like this is that off-topic...

UPDATE THE FIRST POSTS OF YOUR GAMES! THIS IS WHAT I USE TO REVIEW THEM! I WILL NOT SHUFFLE THROUGH 10 PAGES OF COMMENTS LOOKING FOR UPDATES TO MENTION!

I really support that idea! The in-depth reviews will for sure grab people attention to this (possible) newsletter. It will also help people to undertsnad how the development of a fangame is going bcause of your (and AZ) good writting skills. If I can help you in any way (banners etc), plz pm me.

Looks like this was taken well. One of the hardest parts about interviews that I've found out already is time zone differences. It's hard to talk to someone when you can basically only send them a question and get a response the next day.

You could just send them a list of questions, though. This sounds like a cool idea.

The ROM Hacking section has a newsletter; why not the Game Making section?

I don't see why this could be declined, if at all.

True, true. I'll do that with the second person. I just figured it would make it much more difficult to publish.

I just finished my first Editorial, and also one of the reviews, so this is coming along a lot faster than I expected. Just as a note, I won't be publishing the Letters section this week. So, if you want to write (I need those letters!), be sure to send them in for issue two, not one. By the way, the latter will be published on February 6.

Um I like this IDea alot! I volunteer to be interviewed! lol the time zone thingy isnt a problem for me but every now and then. I'll be on alot lately so if you'd like you can interview me soon....

Um... let's see. Seeing as how this is pretty popular, I'll include a status report so people will know what slots I have open.

    - Pokemon Moonlight
    - Pokemon Flame of Destiny

    ISSUE 2 (February 13th) - NO INTERVIEWS
    - Pokemon The Lost World
    - Pokemon Raptor
    - Pokemon Ammolite
    Interviews:
    - Nytkoi
    - Pokemon OI
    ISSUE 3 (Febrauary 20th)
    - Pokemon Scarlet
    - Pokemon Malachite
    Interviews:
    <~Flood~> (response pending)
Sounds good. Keep on filling up those slots! I can't really give definitive articles for anything in the third slot, because games in the Plot and Story Space come and go too quickly.

    YAY

I love the idea. The thing I will look foreword to the most is reviews. The only thing I would suggest is to do the newsletter bi-weekly. If you do the newsletter weekly you may run out of info.
I would greatly like to see pokemon hall of fame on this list.

I am now officially supporting this thread. Also glad to see someone responsible is hosting this wonderful thread. Good luck with organizing this h POKE! Have fun! Also, I have an idea. We should ask someone skilled with CSS to make a custom Game Making Newsletter CSS to add for every review/interview. That would be pretty cool, I think. Keep on truckin'. :]

lol you said your supporting this game lol but I understand what u mean...and this does seem to be going in the right direction. May I suggest maybe promoting a game in the plot and story idea space in every issue? Doing so will help them out alot as far as gaining new supporters and people willing to help them out some.

Done. ~JV~ already made something for me.

I'm already doing that. I just didn't mention any specific games for the later issues because it's hard to determine what will be there.

Yay! Somebody supports me! Now all I need is a banner. Don't worry. gp_arts is making a logo, so I'll just use a smaller version of that. (My plans, forming together so quickly...)

one more Q. My interview is in issue 2 but what does issue 3 have to do with me? I saw pokemon malachite under issue three.

The interview and the review don't necessarily go together. With the review, I take a specific game, and analyze it. With the interview, I talk to the person themselves and ask them general questions about design.

It'll all become clear in issue one.
