Alright so I have a nexus 5 with the app installed. Turned on WiFi and set my location settings to high accuracy(I don't have a SIM card so WiFi will have to do), also disabled mock locations and dev mode.I open the app and it shows that it can connect to the server(spinning pokeball) and GPS signal not found. I've tried running the app on a tablet on the same WiFi network and it works.... Anyone have a solution?

How many times have you tried playing so far on your phone? What you're describing so far sounds like you had just logged on when the servers were down (if it was recent then they are struggling right now). Is this something you've had several times?

I've tried multiple time during different days... One time I tried logging in on a tablet right after my phone won't and it worked perfectly.

Was the tablet you logged on with on wifi, or is it running a sim card?

It was running off of WiFi, the same network that I tried on my phone. It does not have a SIM card

I went ahead and pulled the sim card from my phone. Pokemon GO wouldn't work.

I suspect that the game does a check. If your device can have a simcard and doesn't, it will assume you're cheating or some such nonsense. You should contact the company and submit a bug report.

I tried putting in a sim card in my nexus 5(no data plan but does have full bars of service) and still doesn't work when connected to same WiFi network(I recently tried it on different networks and it still doesn't work). I'm starting to think if they blackisted my device for no reason or some apps I have are blacklisted. I also submitted a ticket to them a week back but still no response.

    Is your phone rooted?

Did you make sure locations services are enabled?

Did you try opening google maps to make sure it finds your location before opening Pokemon GO?

My phone isn't rooted, location is on high accuracy and google maps work on wifi
