Hi, I've been having issues with my Nintendo Wii system. I don't know if the AV Cable is damaged or what. When I cut it on I hear noises but the screen is black. It's getting a signal, I just can't see a thing. Is there a way I can fix this on my own? Would getting a new AV Cable work? Or is the issue in the system? Yes, I already tried another cable in the same slot on my TV and it worked. So, it has to be either the AV Cable or the console.

That sounds like a cable problem to me - I've had a similar experience with my consoles in the past when swapping from AV to HDMI, and I can't think of any technical glitch in a console that would cause it to produce sound but no picture.

In any case I'd advise getting another cable before laying the fault at the console anyway - it's significantly cheaper to pick one up than it is to replace a console. Hopefully that'll resolve the issue.
