    Synopsis
The black swindler Kaiki Deishu, who once deceived Hitagi, returns to town and spreads the incantation which cursed Nadeko before.

Koyomi's sisters Karen and Tsukihi try to capture Deishu but...

    Previews.
    Spoiler:

    So, thoughts?

I'm really quite interested in this. Hoping it's as good as Bakemonogatari. But, by the looks of it already, it sounds like it's going to be. I'll edit this once I look through some PVs and such.

This actually is one of my most anticipated series for this season. From the looks of the previews, Nisemonogatari looks as good as or even better than Bakemonogatari. I just hope the romance will be expressed better than the first season which had its moments but not that much. And by the way, is Hitagi a main or supporting character?

I just marathoned all of Bake in anticipation for this. Just as great as it ever was. I could keep listening to dialogue like that forever.

I've avoided spoiling myself on Nise beyond what I've seen in the trailers, though as far as the premise goes the promotional materials seem to suggest that Koyomi is demoted to secondary character and it's Tsukihi and Karen that take the lead. I hope that they're legitimately interesting and not just moe, but I have faith in Nisioisin's writing. They were briefly alluded to as the "Fire Sisters" in Bake, meaning that they have a big reputation for something, at least.

Most importantly, WHAT DID THEY DO TO MAI WAIFU'S HAIR?!?!? I sincerely hope that it's a significant plot point and not just her attempting to look more "domestic" for Koyomi or something. If any character needed to do anything different with their hair, it was Nadeko with her linguini hair, which drives me crazy for some reason. At least Kanbaru's....ahem...change in attire kind of makes up for what happened to Hitagi.

I dunno, official art from the new series seems to indicate otherwise:

    Spoiler:

If her hair was just flipped up and pinned like it was late in Bakemonogatari that would be great, but I'm not seeing that here. Feels bad man.

Perhaps it's both, I honestly have no preference though. Always thought her long hair was her selling point so It would be a little surprising, the industry know how temperamental "otaku" are.

Hitagi is a rarity in that she's a female character in an otaku-pandering anime whose appeal seems entirely based on her personality. Unlike any of the other characters, I don't feel like she really had an identifiable "charm point", though maybe it was her hair considering how.....not right she feels with short hair.

If otaku were going to turn against Hitagi, they probably already would have when she became officially "committed", a la that hilarious uproar over Nagi from Kannagi. For all we know, SHAFT might just be being faithful to the descriptions of the characters as Nisioisin described them in Nise, in which case I can't blame them. Does anyone know if there are any ongoing translation projects for the -monogatari novels?

Always considered her hair to be the physical charm point, it's rare to have a character actually change hairstyle (well unless powering up counts) during the series if you know what I mean. You're correct about the sharp tongue and almost yandere traits being her main draw though.

As for novels I've only seen Kizumonogatari, Hitagi Crab and the first half of Mayoi Snail translated.

I wonder if you can tell from this ramble that it's gone 4am.

In three of the four pictures she looks quite a bit better with short hair, something about the bigger pic creeps me out.

I'm personally not a fan of short hair on girls. I mean there's ok short (maybe shoulder area), and then there's that too short feeling.
As for Senjougahara's hair, in that PV2 trailer you can see her hair wrapped around like in David's pic.
Now that doesn't mean she can't chop it off later on... I can see it happening, Araragi says "I like how your hair looks tied back like that" and she goes "Oh... *chops it off* how about now?". XD

I can live with Tsubasa's short hair for some reason even though I still prefer long hair for her too. Considering what was made final at the end of the Tsubasa Cat arc, I'm not surprised that she changed her physical appearance. Hitagi, though, man...I hope you guys are right about it not actually being short. The hair was so complimentary to her haughty, quasi-yandere personality and gave her an air of refinement and intelligence. She looks more butch than Kanbaru with it short =/

Welp, the time is nigh (just a day or two now), hopefully Amagami SS+ holds me over for the time being. Speaking of which, guess I'll make the OP for that.

    lol. :C

I like Hitagi with her hair tied back, but short hair is a big NO. It looks (or at least I can imagine it to be) unappealing in my opinion. It's trademark hair ;;. But yeah, Nisemonogatari is my most anticipated series for this season. I have high expectations since I thoroughly enjoyed Bakemonogatari, and I'm hoping it to be as good, if not better, than Bake.

Pretty minimalist but I like it, indeed the song does feel like Staple Staple.

Off to watch, going to avoid spoiling the OP beforehand. If it's like Staple Stable that's a good thing, I've had Renai Circulation stuck in my head for days and I don't want to add to that.

edit: watched it. Impressions later, I'm still coming down from my first overwhelming dose of SHAFT in half a year.
