    Well all know that the games have been officially announced, Pokemon have been revealed, we know the names and we have seen some screenshots. Therefore it seems odd to me that we do not get have a "Pokemon Black and White Discussion" area. I seem to remember the HGSS discussion section being set up almost straight after the games were announced. Yet the whole of the fifth generation is consigned to just two threads in Pokemon General? Is there a particular reason why the section hasn't been set up yet, or has just nobody gotten around to it?
     
    I imagine there's no fifth gen section because there's so little we know about it. At least for HGSS, we could use our GSC knowledge to back us up. If a fifth gen section were put up now, it'd be filled with a bunch of speculation threads, which would eventually call for an official speculation thread. And then what? An entire new section for one thread? Just keep it in Pokemon General until we can gain a good knowledge base of the games.
     
    It will most likely come when the games are released, we already have threads for speculating in various other pokemon forums.
     
    There have been a few posts on this already...

    The staff feels there isn't enough to discuss on Generation V to warrant a full forum yet. Anything you can talk about the game currently can go in Pokémon General. Speculation and wants have been talked about in there since Diamond and Pearl was released. Confirmed information can be put in the stickied thread.

    When more information is available, a proper forum will be made for it. The discussion of 6 screenshots, 2 Pokémon, and the names does not need a whole forum.
     
    HGSS was a remake of Gold and Silver, so there was more to discuss, like what people wanted to see again, what people hoped was going to be fixed, etc. I'm not saying that can't be discussed with gen V, but even still, we just don't know much about them to have a section dedicated to them so soon. It's just too early for it. Discussing 5 pictures and 2 Pokemon just isn't going to cut it.
